I thought I'd better show what I think can be done. There aren't a lot of
decals available for S scale ocean containers, but I found a source of OO
scale decals that I think are acceptable, the alternative being little or
nothing. The only S scale decal I'm aware of for a 40 foot ocean container
is DPH's "CONT-14 "K" Line 40'/45' Container."
Using OO decals is like using HO decals, but better. While HO is linearly
about 73% of S, OO scale is about 84%. In my opinion, they work.
I've posted a picture of a well car with a Tonkin container decorated for
Evergreen in our files section under Tom's Stuff. And FWIW, here's a real

. One sheet is expensive, 5 quid (± 10 bucks), but the sheet I used will do
four different containers.
