In a scale like S, I think it behoves every one of us to try to DO
something, not just pass comments on what somebody else ought to do. On3 is
still in business. It wouldn't be hard to identify On3 sideframes that
would work for S, secure wheelsets, and fabricate a bolster.
And lest I sound like exactly what I'm preaching against, telling others how
to risk their capital; I will mention that I have produced three unique S
products, Pere Marquette switcher decals, Illinois Central freight car
decals, and scrap metal loads for the AM gondolas. In all three cases it
was simply a matter of identifying the product in HO and getting it redone
in S.
I have a much bigger product in the research phase, but it'll be for modern
modellers only.
