Well, if a drive mechanism were available to retrofit AF the AF Milwaukee/C&NW
Pacific, I would purchase one, assuming it would not cost as much as a
ready-to-run SHS Consolidation, an AM Pacific, or a Lionel Mike. I view the AF
Milwaukee/C&NW Pacific as a light USRA type or close to it. It would look
pretty good with 69" or 70" drivers and the proper USRA trailing truck. One
would have to rework the front, but it could be done. One reason such a thing
never happens is perhaps the availability of AF shells for such a project. The
other might be that not enough modelers survive to make the project worth a
manufacturer's time and effort.
I would still love to see a Lionel Mike with scale drivers. That MIke is a
very good-looking lcomotive. It would look great with 63" drivers which is
what USRA light Mikes had. That, so it seems, will never happen.
