Pieter,

Are you suggesting using the drive from an AM streamlined Pacific under an AF
boiler. Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. I wonder if the AM drive would fit. I
certainly have no need for an AM streamlined K4. I think the Pennsy had only
two of that variety but could be wrong because I never followed the PRR other
than to obtain basic knowledge of its locomotives and trains.

With the current AM price for a streamlined Pacific, if a retrofit of an AM
drive were possible into an AF Pacific boiler, well, then who knows? I've
kitbashed my share of freight cars of AF, AM, and SHS, but a Pacific. Wow!
Intriguing!

Tom

Hi Tom;

AM's web site lists their streamlined K4 pacific on sale (DC scale version) for
$179.95. Ebay lists lots of K5 boilers, only one C&NW pacific, mostly for under
$20. That would suggest you could get a scale pacific for under $250.00, plus
some work.

Searching for "shell" under American Flyer on ebay brought up about 100
entries, many steam loco boilers (including the Northern, and Hudson but mostly
the Atlantic and K5).
