Although not directly related to S-scale, for those of you who are/were real railroaders and for those of you who know, what would be the maximum distance between the edge of a loading ramp/platform of an industrial building and the edge of a boxcar door?
I have seen photos of where the boxcar is right up next to the unloading/loading platform, and I have seen photos where a wooden board was used to span the gap. I am trying to determine how to place my structure and its distance from the track.
