Try Mexico, Hershey moved the production of YORK mint candy to Mexico .Then
closed the York PA plant
Of course Hersheys are not owned by the same group anymore.
Maybe Lionel could put the AF production in the York plant.

  Rusty,

I can not answer for Crying Grey 0-6-0, but I can for the 2010 convention car
as I am the responsible party.

I could tap dance up and down and recite all the obstacles and issues we have
had with the project, but the bottom line is right now we do not have a Chinese
builder willing to assemble the car. At one time, our builder would do a 300
run project. We no longer have that builder and most other
importers/manufacturers don't either, and those that do are deeply regretting
it I am sure. I have negotiated with several Chinese builders, but it is now
such a small project, we are at the bottom of the totem pole.

The 2010 Convention commitee has been very patient about all of this and we
appreciate their consideration. As of right now, we do not have a firm builder
to finish this project.

I do not know if you were at the recent NMRA convention in Sacramento, CA,
but there we exhibited and announced the October release of a new boxcar kit
and showed samples of a locomotive we are working on. The boxcar is made in the
US and will be offered as a kit only. All good news, except the cost of the kit
is going to be in the range of what a finished Chinese car used to be. One chap
told me I was nuts because the price would be too high and he would just go to
HO. Athearn just announced a new HO SP caboose - $69.68 for the unlighted
version and $99.98 with lights. Makes the SHS caboose a steal.

What does all this diatribe mean? More uncertainty and increased costs.

Bottom line is I don't know when the 2010 convention car will be completed,
but we have not given up on it.

the Cryer Grey 0-6-0's.? Where is John these days? Does he have your money? Do
we sweep this all under the carpet so we don't upset any one? I'm sorry I'm
such a turd. Put me on moderation.

My understanding is the convention car is for 2011 is coming along nicely.
Apparently at an after the conventon get together there were samples for those
that attended to see the progress and the information I received were they were
just fine. Apparently in the not to distant future deliveries will be made of
the completed car. I did not hear any real time frame but it was suggested that
sometime by this years end seemed plausable. That does not mean I won't buy any
of them tomorrow though.
