It funny how things work out.  My layout is set so the nominal track height
is 48", which is rounded to 73% of my 66" height.  Bill's layout height is
set at 53" which is 72% of his height.  My old layout had a base track
height of 42", but in one area it was 48", and I like that height the best,
so I made that the standard for the current layout.  I was able to reuse the
benchwork wood from my old layout except for the legs. Most of them were too
short.

For a different perspective on layout access, I remember a comment by Frank
Titman the first time I visited his layout.  You need to crawl under a piece
of his layout to operate it and he told me that when he couldn't do that
anymore it was time to stop model railroading. 

I think Bob is just looking for an excuse to escape the Texas heat.  I have
to agree with him on the lighting issue though.
