Well it seems as those I poked a lot of people that don't like Sunset and don't want to see them in S scale. Didn't mean to ruffle feathers. Personally I don't own any of their brass steam, but my friend has several. He has been very happy with them. I have an E7 on order in O scale from them.
Just so everyone knows, I was NOT saying Sunset is up to RR standards. I WAS saying that there is a market position for a company such as Sunset that can offer good detail and running qualities at a lower price point. There are a lot of people that can't afford RR models. There are also a lot of people that buy plastic. There are many different price points that one can but trains at. This is the approach Scott takes with O, and I don't see why it couldn't work here in S as well. I just wish his first offering was something I was more interested in. I hope they do better on S then they did on the O-scale models I have had from them, actually had a 280 that the came without any screws in the gearbox and a caboose that the wheels would not turn in the trucks.
