E7's like pacifics are passenger locos which are hard to find room to run on
the average layout. A good looking passenger train can barely fit in the
typical space available for the whole length of a layout so they don't look
convincing when the observation car has just left town and the headlight of the
loco is already coming around the loop in view. I imagine things like the SP
pacific are bought more by collectors who want to look at them in a glass case?
An SP 0-6-0
or 2-6-0 would be easier to run in a realistic manner on most layouts wouldn't
it?
The only new products I've bought recently were one of each version of the
Des plaines new freight cars and there are more cars I'd buy if I could. PFE 57
mechanical reefers at the top of the list, bulkhead and centerbeam lumber cars
