Pushing the limits of topic, I believe Stinson Aircraft also manufactured a 
trainer that was used extensively during WWII; the same model
(perhaps as surplus) was often used for crop-dusting, probably because the same 
qualities that made it a good trainer also worked for
low-altitude and rough landing operation.  And many years ago there was a 
Stinson Records (I think in Ohio) who offered LP's of folk=music,
including a very young Pete Seeger.  No idea whether eithere family was closely 
connected to model railroading, however.

Off the top of my head, I think Nord offered a 4-6-0?  Perhaps a Pacific?

Would the AM 4-6-2 work?
