Aha!  That solves the puzzle of the cast-metal S-1 listed on ebay a week or two 
ago from that large estate being auctioned by the hobby shop
in OKC (guy must have been in S scale at least since the 1950's and could 
afford to buy almost everything made back then).  I couldn't quite
equate it with the two Millers I own and wondered whether it might have been an 
early version (although the several published articles on
Miller made that unlikely).
