Over the years the scale side has had several dual motor diesels: (I
don't think I've ever heard of any steam engines with dual motors). The
Sunset GP's in brass have two Canon motors, the OMI Alco RS-11 Series
have two Machima's, a the American Models PA's have dual motors without
a legible brand name and finally the RR SD-7 & 9's have them. I thought
that the RR E units had dual motors but I'm not certain. I have not had
any problems with the concept, but they do take up a lot of room that I
would like to use for sound equipment. Sometime in the near future, I
plan on removing one of the motors from my Sunset Geeps, because I need
to rebuild the entire drive system and the extra space will be welcome
at that time.

This also brings up the question of Ed's mentioning of BEMF with many
decoders. I wonder if a flywheel would also have similar effect of
interfering with that feature as the dual motors might?
