Ben, and everyone else who feels the same way... that is what they make SUBJECT
lines for in postings. Subject lines generally imply what a post is about. If
you see me make a post with the name "Sergent" in it, please rest assured that
it will be about just that. And rest assured... if you don't want to read
(hear) my 'barkings' in my posts... please rest assured that I will NOT be
offended if you simply don't read it. But I will continue to post about
whatever news I get when I get it... and I will do so for those who DO want to
hear it... and there are many who do appreciate what I do. ANd it is for them
(and myself) that I labor... and bite my tongue... repeatedly...

It really is that simple, folks... just don't read it if you don't want to hear
it.

In my opinion the real issue here is that there has been a long history of
'bark' without any bite. I'd like to see no more bark until there is something
we can really sink our teeth into.

words of yours when the time comes for you to have to start eating them. I
have told Bill Lane this, and I will now tell you the same thing... when a
manufacturer has discovered a problem with a manufacturing process, it is their
responsibility to fix the problem or find a better way to produce their
product. I respect and appreciate all that Frank Sergent is doing to guarantee
us a product worth waiting for. If you cannot, then go ahead and invest in
Kadee's lousy excuse for a coupler... and that is exactly what you'll end up
with. And then when the Sergent coupler happens, you'll either decide to sell
the Kadee stuff or learn to be as happy with them as you can be.

is more of the same BS from Sergent. He mentions doing many shank styles, but
it's funny that Kadee has managed to produce all of their S, On3, and On30
products with the same castings (shanks and all). Sorry, but I have developed a
low tolerance for BS in recent years.

small S scale home layout, and I have been waiting for Sergent to produce S
couplers for far too long now. I had even been thinking about trying them in
HO, but now that is not going to happen, because if I am going to commit to any
new couplers, I need to know that the manufacturer is also going to be
committed to his product (and his customers), and be a reliable source of that
product, which clearly Sergent is not. Kadee is and always has been an example
of company who is so committed, and that is why they have owned the model train
coupler market (in all scales) for over 50 years now, while no one else has
come close.

convention time. I'm still struggling with the investment cast products and at
this point I am convinced that the S scale coupler(s) will have to be
investment cast because they will require multiple shank styles (and probably
multiple head styles as well). The investment cast option will allow me to
address a more diverse audience (Sn3, On3/On30, plus std gauge with shank
styles that allow easy adaptation to existing equipment).

I work a real job weekdays, but you are welcome to stop by on Saturday the 11th
perhaps. My basement shop is typically a mess which I am sure you will forgive
me for. I do ask that you come alone. There are some things you will certainly
see that I do not want potential competitors to find out about until I am
ready.
