Actually helper operations along with no longer needing block power
switching, pushed my into command control back in the analog days.  DCC was
just the next step.

That brass model of a wooden caboose counts as a nonwooden underframe, so I
don't need to switch it behind the rear helper :-)

How about uncoupling helpers on the fly?  That would be a neat feature.
Could even do it in a tunnel (though I wouldn't want to try it).
