One thing I like about the #5, besides the cost v. the 802, is the ease of 
assembly.  The coil springs are a pain compared to the bronze spring in the #5. 
 The whisker version is even easier; just don't poke your finger on the sharp 
wire.

      The 800s have the "original" shank design and is the same as the #4.  The 
#5 is the oddball and was designed to fit the "X"  post provided on most "H0" 
equipment.
