Note: Don't use "export MAKE='make -j2'"; that seems to be what's causing
the problems. (See [http://groups.google.com/group/sage-
devel/browse_frm/thread/35c05ab37f77f888 sage-devel].)
If it's possible, the spkg-install file could check for this.
