A very pragmatic thougt: If it doesn"t hurt to set FC to SAGE_FORTRAN, why
not? But I think it"s better not to do it globally. Because then we could
cause more problems then we solve.
Can you give a modified spkg-install? I can try it out over night then.
But I think it would also be good to get some feedback for Solaris and OSX
for the current versions. Then we could decide to keep the current, or to
take the other.
