 * `cddlib` is slow, thats a generally known fact. It basically comes out
 last in every benchmark I have seen. It was the first implementation, and
 nobody would have published a competing implementation if it wouldn't have
 been faster...

   * `random.h` has the GNU C library copyright notice. I've modified the
 source to cut it down to the essentials, remove other rngs and other libc
 calls.

 I don't mind making `cddlib` depend on `gsl`, but the obvious arguments
 against would be:

       1. `cddlib` doesn't need a high-quality rng.

       2. Many projects use `cddlib`, should we really try to push a new
 dependency upstream?
