I was trying to use sage-4.6.alpha0 upgraded from the "prealpha", but
something got messed up. Now using sage-4.6.alpha1 which has everything
from #9337 so its simpler.
I think Volker's arguments are reasonable and its a little silly to worry
about the size of his random.c file - its smaller than a single block on
most filesystems. I'm only worried about testing that this all works on a
variety of platforms now.
