Might throw off ATLAS timings if you build stuff in the background. But
since ATLAS takes such a long time to build it probably does not matter.

What governor are you using usually? I'm hoping that "ondemand" is good
enough on modern CPU's since the tuning process will kick them into high
gear. Any other governor besides performance and ondemand is useless
unless you have an old CPU.
