 Unfortunately I am not proficient in C, so I can't help out here. I would
 be more than happy to run any tests against aotuv though if needed.

 Also, I believe that the regular Xiph Vorbis library is capable of
 encoding at -1 quality, so you might want to keep that in mind as well.

 Does it make sense to have this error checking in place at all? Why not
 leave it to the user to make sure that they get the correct quality levels
 for the encoder? That would seem to be the most flexible approach. After
 all, aotuv, or Xiph or someone else could come up with a -3 quality level
 at some point.
