 Ok, I've had a review of the library's source code. The quality parameter
 in Vorbis is confusing.

 The library setting goes from -0.1 to 1.0 for Xiph and -0.2 to 1.0 for
 aoTuV.

 The encoding front-end uses a mapping from the interger to one of these
 values. For instance, at 44.1 kHz for aoTuV, you have:

 static const double quality_mapping_44[13]={
   -.2,-.1,.0,.1,.2,.3,.4,.5,.6,.7,.8,.9,1.0
 };
 }}}

 This does not fix the problem of checking the value but indicates that the
 quality parameter for vorbis should be documented. I have already changed
 the wikipedia page.
