One thing I learned from my dealer parts guy is that the EPC will often show a
part to be NLA when it's really not. He says there is another system they used
called "Paragon" which is the determining source as to whether or not a part is
still available.
He urged me to always check with him on

They never had a distribution center in Montvale. But there is a parts
counter here in my office, and a distribution center in southern NJ. Both
are still operating.
But last I checked the kit was NLA from MB.

Thanks guys he ended up with a tow trunk to my house in northern NJ.
I rebuilt the pump... he had the kits in the trunk oddly enough. The new
diaphragm tore nearly immediately. The kits were made in Taiwan.
So now Gary has to find me quality parts so I can get this thing fixed and
out of m

I have a friend off of I-84 just south of the mass pike who broke down in
his 77 300D. Sounds like a vacuum pump failure... Engine runs fine, but
brakes are hard and there are no vacuum functions working.

Not as much fun, but all he has lost is the brake boost and engine
shutoff. He can drive it home, then deal with it. I did that
several times with 190D/200D cars. If it is A/t, it will shift
harder, as it will lose the shift softening shushiness of the vacuum
modulator.
