There are no bad lenses. Only lenses used badly. I'm not sure if some of those images are truly low contrast from flare, or if they have been lomographied with Instagram or something. In any event, in this day and age, there is no excuse not to know what you are getting when you purchase a lens.

The problem is that the ball bearing is held "high" by a spring beneath it. You must compress the spring so the ball bearing is low enough to slip the aperture ring over.
