@dark: trans-atlantic ANYTHING seems like it's usually a nightmare; i'm having a hard time just getting one, fully-vaccinated cat back from italy to the USmetroids DO make an appearance! but as they are very nasty critters they don't show up until somewhere in the late-game @smoothgunner: there's SORT OF a sound pack: instead of zmud's MSP protocol (with the !!SOUND triggers and whatever) we've implemented sounds using our own secret escape codes, because we have a very neat custom MUD client "project tuna" (batmud does something similar)if you'd like, i can zip up the sound files and tell you a list of control codes that are supposed to trigger them; if you can point me at some resources for the client you use, i can try to put together a sound packthere is limited PVP; players can fight players in t

Yes but games like that have to be managed carefully or they'll just devolve into a mass of people wanting ot hang on to power any way possible. Been in thosee games, they are zero, I men ZERO fun at all when it's mud slinging from the players who don't want to give up what they got.Honestly it's starting to sound a bit similar to certain other MMO space games, both audio, and mainstream, EVE online jumps to mind to be honest. I do think DMPA needs to stand out and attract its own audience.

So a couple months ago, I got some peppermint, rosemary, and lavender plants, hoping to ward off the vampiric swarms. While I have yet to lose sleep at the whim of whiny blood-sucking hellspawn, my plants are kinda dying, and I do not know why. I have 3 inside, mositioned to get light from the kitchen window, and 3 others on the porch. It has been very rainy and cloudy for the past week, but this was a problem for most of May. I have no idea what's wrong or how to fix it  Any game development progress has slowed to a crawl, because of what I am hereby dubbing Chaos Lag. It mysteriously started slowing down in the first week of May, and got worse as time went on. Speed tests and tweaks to reduce the infant mortality rate (it's a computing term!) have been fruitless, as it keeps telling me weird things like it taking 21ms to play a sound (but only when there's
  attacking involved), it's significantly faster to chain geometric transformation methods than to call them separately, but only if nothing else is happening. It's all very confusing and I can hardly diagnose it for more than 2 hours at a time before I run out of ideas and reboot. Speaking of the weather... I don't remember the last day it was dry enough to go anywhere. I should probably invest in some good boots, but I don't wanna.

Ah well, what I failed to mention is that I'm still learning this stuff, I'm by no means a professional. Any books I can find that seem to teach it want you to start off with GUI development ,which, yeah, is where I want to end up, but its a lot to manage all at once, and you barely know how to get around vs in the first place. And, any way that they want to teach you, which is doing it with the gui designer just isn't gonna work foe me because I can't do clicks and drags.

Hi Colton,Thank you very much for the suggestions. Oh by the way, I do really use Longcat.Audio.H3D.binaural.spatializer and have made lots of 3d audio clips and movies using it. It's really great, but you can only control how big the room is and how reverbie is it when it comes to environment. Will take a look on what you've suggested.Thanks again.

YOu keep spewing forth misinformation, so I'll try to correct it yet again. Yes, it would take someone a couple days to learn Winsock, but it's the difference in beting a compitant developer and understanding what's going on under the hood and just mindlessly using libraries, then having problems when they don't work. Second, you do not need a thread per connection in any platform, nor do you need to fork. You can use threads to manage groups of connections, but if you can't handle work with the posix sockets library you're certainly not ready for concurrent programming.

the builtin rea verb is in my opinion useful for pretty much one thing. Impulse convolution. Impulse convolution is the process of taking a sampled space in the form of an audio file, an impulse, and morphing the supplied audio into it. Correctly sampled impulses can produce extremely real sounding reverbs. That is about all they do though, but they're really good at it, as they are made generally from either actual spaces and recordings, or professional samplers who know how to take a digital reverb and make it into an impulse. Google download free impulses for a taste of the power impulses provide. The controls for builtin reverbs in rea verb are just a royal pain in the ass to figure out, and mine aren't labeled for some reason in the echo and reverb generator sections.You can also find more vst effects to add to your collection, there are plenty of verb vst's out there that let you adjust each individual parameter of the verb itself, but they don't al
 ways sound good. One I can think of that I like myself is called ambience, it is free and is very flexible. Give it a try!Another environmental effect I've heard and sometimes attempted was 3d space panning. My favorite and most usable 3d space panning vst is called longcat audio h3d, but unfortunately it is shareware and distributing cracks would be against the rules of this forum. But if you just want panning, and it doesn't need to be 3d, there are some builtin js plugins that do that job for you. Good luck!

if anyone needs menus let me know, they are not to many so you all should be fine..and I think that first option for region is japan, I know for a fact if you go down once and press x that is south America. press x a couple times then it will take you to the license agreement. scroll all the way down for I would say like around 2minutes then press x. you have to do this process twice. now while scrolling it will not make a sound. when you get to the bottom it will not make a sound. so I suggest to hold down for like two minutes then press x.

Hello.I have also stopped playing avalon mud as I've realised it is very quest heavy. hello, I bought an account and downloaded swamp from audiogames, which is ver 3.5however it asked to update to 3.6 b in oder to play online. I downloaded the patch of aprone's website. but how do I update? i ran the swamp in the patch folder, but it seems to be a separate thing, as there are no voices, and my minutes aren't  registerred, any help what to do is appreciated.

@Sito, Swamp is awesome, I need to get back to it myself, as I've loved playing it on every occasion I tried, but haven't been able to do it successively, however now I have a desktop and an actual mouse (since playing on a laptop trackpad didnt' do it). @Aprone, [[wow]]! you sound quite the handy man. I always admire people who can do sort of practical stuff like this, since I find myself that clumsiness combined with lack of eyeballs does rather get in the way, changing lightbulbs is about my limit, though fortunately one of the advantages in having the council as my landlord is that most plumbing and electrician type issues,  not to mention taking care of the lawn are done by them directly, though some of their priorities can be a little nuts!I recall a couple of months ago several light fittings in my flat needed replacing (not just the bulbs, but the hole socket they go in). When it was just the one in the bathroom I didn't bother, since 
 it's not as if you need lots of light to take a bath,  but when both the living room and kitchen went in rapid succession I something needed doing.the council initially told me  waiting time for an electrician would be over a month. When however they found out one of the broken light fixtures was the one in the kitchen they instantly said "[[wow]]! a food preparation area is a priority, as preparing food in the dark is a health hazard! someone will be around to fix the kitchin light fitting tomorrow, --- but the bathroom will have to wait" I did actually point out to them that Mrs. Dark is totally blind and I am mostly blind and probably use my other senses as much as my vision anyway, (I thought it was only fair), but they were absolutely adamant on the subject, also absolutely adamant on the fact that the electrician could only! fix the kitchen fixture and the others would have to wait for another appointment  . As it happened the  electrician was a jolly nice chap (as is quite with the council maintenance people), and was quite happy to replace all the light fixtures in one go (he was actually quite amused about the council's regulations) . So I hoep this teaches everyone on the forum that you must! turn the lights on in the kitchen, --- -whether you can see them or not! .As for me I've not got too much extra to report, though I will say the new Alter event sounds great. My lady loves angels so it's come at the right time. I also have undertaken a couple more quests and intend to get back into the game on a regular basis, picking up where I left off, parti
 cularly since I do fancy having a go at these crafting skills (indeed methinks the Alteraeon entry in the db might need updating with details).

How to add environmental effects on a track using Reaper?

Hi allAs the subject says, I'm asking about the plugin which can add several environmental reverb and effects on a certain audio file or a track in Reaper. Well I'm actually new to this program which I've now reached a not bad level in it, but I've saw some audio clips from people that are saying those effects in them are added by Reaper. Eg, some environmental effects like room, hallway, bathroom, kitchen, inside a cabinet or a car and the like. But after a not very accurate overview on Reaper's plugins like ReaVerb and ReaVerbate, I didn't find what I'm looking for, except some basic reverb effects and presets, with some simple room size adjustment sliders that don't perform the purpose I'm wanting, compared to what I'm witnessing from various audio clips made with Reaper out there. Am I missing something, Like plugins, preset libraries or whatever? Help will be appreciated.Many thanks in advance.

Again,  the exception settings in Avg haven't been accessible since Avg 2014 unfortunately. We'll have to ask a friend to remove it from my lady's machine I think, though needless to say once it is gone that is that. The other sad thing is Avg used to have a very nice tech support hotline who were actually extremely helpful, but again, this went down the tubes. They offered a generic tech support service instead, somewhere in india I think, but they were a dead loss unless you had one of the problems written on their specific problem sheet.

I think it may be referring to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable components, a few other threads seem to suggest installing both the 32bit and 64 bit versions of those packages, which you can get both [here] and [here].As for your other question about uploading mp3 and png's, youtube doesn't support those formats directly. What you can do though is embed them in your OBS stream, which you can then record in FLV or MP4. There are a variety of tutorials around on how to do so, such as [here] and [here], though just how clear they are in regards to accessibility may vary.

Well, as it turns out, the story, though alright, is definitely nothing to be impressed with... I'm playing through it at the moment, 3 chapters in and it's ok, but nothing captivating. Not surprising, being that this is a fighting game... I felt this way towards both SF V and Injustice 2 as well. They're enjoyable for a playthrough or two, for sure, and Tekken 7's already one I'll definitely play again. And the best news... QTE's have both a big window for reaction and the same button sequences!

see the thing is though I'm not really an active player any more, and I'm also not much of a creator, as you can probably see most of the stuff there is mostly just sound changes and a couple basic triggers, I wouldn't really be able to help with developmentbut what I can do is package what I have into an archive and just send it all to you if you'd like to take a look at them, that's the best I could do as far as helping out goes unless I start playing my character again

Likewise, I actually was having a look at the game's wiki the other day and thinking I should give things another try now that I have a little more space for playing games. Thanks for the commands benamas.I don't know if my character got purged but I should probably restart anyway since I  exactly remember where I was.Btw It's a little odd reading this topic now since Mrs. Dark and I are coming up to our first anniversary. Things are still absolutely wonderful, but I can't deny that sorting out a trans atlantic wedding which had to happen three weeks from my arrival in the States since we needed to submit Uk application visas was quite a nightmare! Still the  wedding was wonderful involving everything from a rather Cinderella style coach to playing of the themes from Cocoon and Jurassic park not to mention actual singing from my lady and I (us being both trained classical singers),  even if we did have to rewrite p
 retty much the entire service from scratch to avoid the priest inserting a hole bunch  blarney about the woman being queen of the home and the man being the hunter probably sounded old fashioned in the 1950's . Still it all worked out as absolutely amazing, --- and that goes not just for the wedding, but also our life together (I've not quite got Mrs. Dark into mudding yet, but she does love tabletop rp). Anyway oh yes, what were we talking about? Oh cleft of dimentions, --- I'll see if I can head back and give things a try since I really do fancy those quests and as someone who still has a Snes and many games (it's sitting about two feet from me right now the theme definitely appeals to me,  I hope metroids make an appearance.

Khachi, firstly, that is a mainstream crack site. I checked. You wouldn't find Private Detective School there. Second, you can't just be posting random links to generic cracking sites. Even Including mainstream ones. so, the title gives you the general idea. I started using google chrome recently, and I love it. The speed is great, sometimes it hickups on my position but I don't mind. I answered it and went right on, so that plugin isn't broken anymore like threads say it is. However, it may have something to do with the xxs autitor blocking the whole damn page when I hit submit. Please investigate this, see if you can reproduce all the time or if it may be the pun stop bots extension acting up in another way. I am using the latest stable version of chrome, I don't have information nor wish to upgrade to the beta builds.

as far as downloading whole playlists goes, pontes would crash when I tried that too, even with the checkbox. When I have to download such playlists, I generally use youtube-dl, cmd version, though I have previously messed with the gui version and I overall think it's a great utility. The only thing about youtube-dl and even it's gui counterpart that I don't necessarily like is what you have to do to get a custom output template, especially with cmd version if you don't specify an output template it defaults to the video name, dash, then the video ID, which is a royal pain. It ignores playlists and uploaders altogether.For those who wish to use youtube-dl, cmd line or gui version, this is an output template that is designed to download a playlist.%(uploader)s/%(playlist_name)s/%(title)s.%(ext)sIf you want to ignore the uploader's directory, remove the "%(uploader)s/" part.Here's a quick command line example that will 
 extract to the best possible audio format, as youtube has adaptive streams, as well as using my playlist output template earlier.youtube-dl -x -o "%(uploader)s/%(playlist_name)s/%(title)s.%(ext)s" urlobviously replace url with your youtube URL, this template works for playlists only. To download individual videos you would use this command line.youtube-dl -x -o "%(title)s" urlPlease note: as the -x option extracts the best possible format, you will get format variety, anything from m4a to mp3 to ogg to opus. You don't usually see flac or vorbis.To choose exactly what format it extracts to, I.E. mp3, you would use this in the middle of the command line before the link, with spaces on either side.--audio-format filetypewhere filetype is one of flac, mp3, m4a, vorbis, aac, opus, or wav.For those who may not know, vorbis is ogg.All this is only rellavent if you're using the command line version of youtub

the only game that has different tracks that I know of is Tekken 3. Tekken 4 and 5 all had the same soundtrack... and I agree with this game. there are only a few tracks that I really like in this game.

ehh, it was mostly minor things, but full change log is here... luckily I logged everything I was doinggeneral stuffremoved some old triggers that no longer surve a purpose as well as a couple that are seemingly duplicates, updated othersupdated communicator sounds to make them more, communicator-like rather than sounding like you're receiving instant messages however the old sounds are still there for those who want to use themfixed the apartment close door sound so now it actually sounds like a door closed instead of just cutting offadded sounds for einrophones ringing, alliance sector and conquest status channels and probably a few other things I can't remember right nowadded sounds for communicator notices as they arriveadded a sound for the mentor channel, yaymade a modified version of the say sound for when people speak over einrophoneremoved some more clone soundsadded sounds for suborbital podsgro

John, $35. That actually is not too bad. You still may want to try to break the starforce protection system, though. If nothing else, it'll be for your own good considering there's always the possibility of a physical disk becoming unreadable sooner or later. Even if you don't plan on giving it out, which you actually really can't just *give it out* considering the protection, you can't just burn it to another disk either. Starforce looks at every disk sector and if there's a mismatch, it won't run. Normally you're right, it wouldn't be right to break this, but considering this game is nearly out of stock, it won't be long before it will be truly unobtainable. It's already unsupported by Code Factory, and as you said there are only like 5 copies left.

In stage 6-3, if you fly to x coordinate 1000 without pressing the landing switch, if you can handle Bit complaining about it, you'll get jump shoes. I think it requires beating the game though, or being far along in the game.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you want to upgrade to 8.1 at least because microsoft have said that 8 itself isn't supported, but they are still supporting 8.1 with security patches and stuff. I can definitely understand you not jumping to win 10 though, but 8.1 should be easy enough because you shouldn't lose anthing, unless you are worried about accessibility, and if you are, there isn't much to worry about because it still works and you can still run your programs.

Seri, which version of Skype as there's several conflicting guides out there and if I google Skype accessibility Linux I get to pages of results saying it's not accessible at all, bearing in mind I'm running Orca here.I mean, if I get skype, it tries to give me the beta reardless and I had a hell of a job purging everything from the system to wipe that off my machine, that and I agree, but the problem with my team is that we use voice chat a lot and it has to be cross platform, which is one of the big draws of Skype is it is indeed cross platform, however the alternatives aren't, easily, cross platform.Then againI'm never sure which skype is which on Linux any more, I've tried the alpha, no dice with accessibility, tried the beta and like you said, it's horrifically awful and Skype support said they're thankful for feedback but nothing got done about it at all, and those aree the two versions I commonly got pointed to.<
 p>EDIT: I have a burning hate for the web Skype client, maybe it's just my laptop but my Chrome/Chromevox loves to lock up on that site as soon as I start typing in an IM windownad I hate he autocomplete in the IM and search fields. To start with I have the full version and I did buy it for approximately $35 from computer room services and I will not be giving out the full version and as far as I know they are still selling it you just need to call their office and request it from them because they have only like five copies left and they are not selling it online anymore so you need to call.  p>EDIT: I have a burning hate for the web Skype client, maybe it's just my laptop but my Chrome/Chromevox loves to lock up on that site as soon as I start typing in an IM windownad I hate he autocomplete in the IM and search fields. I've tried tricking FFF but to no avail, so if there is an accessible Skype version that works with Linux, I'll probably just settle for using that really, currently, I'm routing the IMs through Pidgin with the purple plugins but of course, that doesn't, at least the version I got, do voice and video which is important to my team.EDIT: Do you mean the one at the Skype site, as it gave me the skypeforlinux64.deb ile, if that's the acceissible one then I'm sort of set, else I'm screwed and will have to do a purge AgAINugh

Thanks to one of the helpful newbie-aiding guides, and a fellow blind player called Josharian, )Ihope I remembered his nick correctly), I found out the answers to my most important questions, and received further informations about the main characteristics of this MUD.For those of You who happen to care, I shall try to summarize those here:Avalon is an extremely quest/mission-driven game.This means, that players must finish quests and missions assigned to them in order to progress, meaning to learn even the most important skills and activities of the gmae.So, the most of the important actions and activities cannot even be performed, until one completes the quest, or quests referred to them, and learns those skills and activities as their reward.The same sis the situation with weapons, armor, and important equipment for adventuring: One must complete the regarding quests and missions to get them either directly as reward, or a more significant sum of g
 old to buy them for himself/herself.The phases of players progressing are divided into, and traced by so called "chapters", which contain the above mentioned quests/missions, which were given to players either by their guild-superiors, or automatically assigned by certain NPCs, adjusted to the players current general, or guild rank levels. (ranks are the gauge of progression in activities in this MUD)After successfully completing all the quests, missions listed in the current chapter, (there are round 10, or even more quests/missions even for the 1st chapter), one can "write" and add that chapter to his/her character history, and move on to the next level of progressing, by requesting and getting all the quests, missions for his/her next chapter.This all may sound interesting, meaning players making their own history of progress, and by doing so, and influence the gameplay, or maybe even alter the overall game-history this way, (after com
 pleting some quest, or mission of greater, or even epic importance for example), however to gamers like myself, who prefer a free, open, and independent type of gameplay, this aspect means an unwanted limitation, a restriction which spoils the most of the fun while playing.True, teorethically one can freely venture out, and explore the wilderness any time, fight creatures at will, loot their corpses, randomly find and collect useful stuff, slightly improve some skills, provided that he/she learned them by that point, (by completing the required quests or missions, and skills are mostly be learned and improved by quest-NPCs, or eventually taught by other, more experienced players), and during his/her journey, probably even acquire additional quests, missions from NPCs met on his/her way, but all the prerequisits to be successful at this, so a more significant game-progress, requires completing a large number of those chapter-listed quests and missions, since without them one ca
 n't buy even the most necessary equipment for elemental survival, and would certainly not last for long out there, especially in an unrestricted PK MUD like Avalon, even inside cities and towns.All those are also the main reasons, why I finally decided to give up playing Avalon MUD.However, I hope this description of mine will still help those, who were undecided about Avalon so far, by making their final decision regarding it as well.

Hi Lads,sorry for taking over a year to even see this thread, i'm one of the admins for CoDs and i've been deployed overseas in the navy but i'm getting back in the saddle nowi've recreated the 'exits' command, and added 'glance' (which only works right when 'brief' is on, at the moment)i've also made the 'resistances' command give a no-ascii version when the player has 'brief' mode on, since the ascii table readout is probably not extremely helpful i'm EXTREMELY interested in adding more accessibility features for vi players; i'll be working on making no-ascii alternatives for commands like 'who' and 'score' in the near future, as well as adding alternatives to ascii maps and art and colored text highlightingi know i'm necromancing this thread pretty badly but i'll be monitoring it for more suggestions in the future (or feel free to
