My first exposure to a no necroposting rule was two weeks, with exceedingly rare exceptions for very short, still recent topics for which there has been something new enough to be worth resurrecting it for.That's probably too much. Things are slow around here. So a year probably makes more sense.It would be harder, but two levels might be better: one that gives the poster a page with a warning, asking if they're sure their post is worth the resurrection but not a new thread, and the other just auto-locking the thread. I've never seen such a thing, though, so IDK how much of a pain it'd be.Or, if we're feeling really enthusiastic about editing the site, have some mechanism by which posters gain whitemage mana, which is expended in proportion to how old the thread they're replying to is. Not enough mana = no necropost.

In the end, it comes down to these facts:* developing for multiple operating systems results in more development times if you don't have cross-platform capabilities in mind from the get go.* developing for Mac always requires a Mac itself, even though it might just be to debug and test things in certain cases. Even though you can probably do this via a virtual machine from within Windows to, its more convenient if done from a real Mac, which is rather expensive.* signing packages and apps requires you to access a developer account from Apple, which itself doesn't cost only $100, but $100 per year.So, in the end, if you already happen to possess a Mac and maybe even got the Apple Deveoper ID already, it shouldn't be a problem for you to port your games to Mac or even develope them especially for that platform, but if you don't, its utterly expensive and no, the few Mac audio gamers won't compensate the pre-investment necessary to make the game available for that platform in this case, even if its a commercial game.Don't blame the developers here, its Apple who does things unnecessarily hard for developers here. If Apple wanted to enhance the developer's user experience here, they would improve the cross-platform access so that you can build Mac apps natively from windows so that you don't require a Mac to do this, or even reduce the Apple Developer costs, but nope. Hi.I agree that it would be nice to have more games for Mac. The Mac platform is indeed also made for gaming. There is Steam, Gamecenter and the App store. You can of course also install downloaded applications.However, us who have chosen a Mac are not limited to this platform. I have used virtual machines since 2009 for gaming, and it works just fine. Bootcamp is also an option, so I don't complaint.

Organizing Projects Accessibly in Reaper?

Hi.  So my projects in reaper are a huge mess of all these files in 1 media folder, and I've honestly made my peace with never being able to organize that sniz lol.  But I wanted to move on to a fresh start, and actually organize my projects in their own folders from this point on, with my stems in a sub folder in that folder...but I can't find how the heck to do that accessibly?  Like every tutorial I've watched has said there's a check box to check when you click save as, but I don't see it anywhere and trying to redirect my media files through the media tab on the alt+enter menu isn't working for me.  Haven't found anything talking about how to do this on the reaper access wiki, which I find a bit odd...but can anybody help me out here?  How do you do it?

@Dark, I am using Eset smart security 11 anti virus and Update it daily, and have this game for than many months in my hard drive and didn't have any problem with my PC. I think that it's windows defender's false detection not the game having virus.Also, the key to survive in the game before higher levels and before getting powerfull missionguns is jumping, keep your distance from enemies, after they shoot, jump, then shoot at them until they again shoot at you, then jump instantly and you will be safe.As I understand, each weapon in the game has it's range and speed, so if you have a weapon with higher range than your enemie's weapon, you can keep your distance with the enemy and shoot at it without jumping, but if comes near you you shoud jump.also, you can use shields to protect yourself, find shields, press tab and select them then press enter on them to wear them. you can get the hit point of your shields by pressing the H key.Sorry for my long post, I think this game has alot of potensials, and the first thing that in my idea should be added to the game is the save feature, of course if the developer wants to continue working on the game.

@Agomez92,new weapons will be unlocked in higher levels, from level 3 and higher you can find newer and powerfull weapons, like many types of missionguns, and other guns. It is somehow like Psycho strike's weapon shop. I don't play this game very often but each time I play it I reach to level 8 or 9, and I think that because you are a Tallented gamer Agomez92, you can go more further in the game than me. You should just understand it's mechanics.

That and, well, mac users knew what they got themselves into when they bought a mac, it's not a gaming platform, so the devs who put forth the effort to make their games run on it, all to the good, but its really not a great platform for gaming. It also comes with a bunch of challenges I can't even begin to talk about because I'm not qualified.

Bonus tip for salvaging cargo, which I've had a lot of success with…If you see an item like a missile or random trade goods just floating in space, it's probably debris from a destroyed ship. You can salvage this stuff fairly easily. Target it with page-up/down, and press shift+A to have your autopilot follow it. Keep checking your distance reading, and when you get to within a kilometer or so, you can disengage the autopilot and boost the throttle a little with X. Your ship will eventually just catch whatever it is and stow it in the cargo bay, if you have the room. YOu'll hear an announcement when this happens.

Go into Settings, and find the option for "modified mode." If you don't do this the scripts won't run, as they aren't signed by Egosoft. Alternatively, you can open the script editor in a game, but this is a bit more error-prone and isn't reallyuseful for us in any case, as the in-game script editor doesn't  work particularly well for us.There is one known bug, the average price and volume  commands don't seem to work on stations that buy goods, so you'll have to remember how much you bought your ore for or whatever. THe log file for the script is in Documents\Egosoft\X3tC, Log0150.txt.Enjoy, and good luck. I'll definitely keep everybody posted with updates.

Actually, the only problem I find with that is, just like with the Linode, you won't be able to get any audio feedback unless you installed some really crappy network sound card. Either using a Linux virtual machine, bare metal, or use a Raspberry Pi might work so you can get audio feedback.

So, I found out what the issue appears to be.  I just am not sure why.  I put in code to show me values of cosine(theta) and sine(theta).  Theta of 253 degrees shows as 4.41568300754565, and cosine(theta) shows as 1.  I am not sure if that's correct.  Sine(theta) shows as 0.  That is why vel.y is 0, because anything multiplied by 0 is 0.  But how the hell is sine(4.41568300754565) 0?  And it apparently remains 0 no matter what number of degrees or radians is chosen.  The hell?UPDATE:  I did the math on a calculator, and this is what it shows.  According to BGT, number of degrees is 253, theta is 4.41568300754565.  According to my calculator, this is correct, 253*3.14159265358979/180 = 4.41568300754565.  So all good, right?  But this is where it gets weird.  According to BGT, cosine(4.41568300754565) = 1.  According to my calculator, cosine(4.41568300754565) = negative 0.29237170472274039037835968119181.  So now things don't match.  Then, BGT says that sine(4.41568300754565) = 0.  My calculator says that sine(4.41568300754565) = negative 0.95630475596303436166701832248782.  Yet again, these don't match.  And none of them are 0.  So vel.y should never be 0.  And these are doubles, so they should be able to handle negative numbers with decimals just fine.  In fact, they return decimal numbers just fine.  Not sure why the numbers aren't matching, since the original theta of 4.41568300754565 matched on both BGT and my calculator.  But that's the issue, it thinks sine(4.41568300754565) is 0, when actually it is not.  How do I fix this?

Ntm in games like Oh Shit, that I created, porting to the Mac and getting proper signing, which is highly recommended and in fact I've heard that some versions of Mac Os don't even like you to run unsigned apps, it's a cost of $100. I'm in college, not doing this full time, only barely committed to anything; basically just coding when I'm bored and have time; I don't feel it necessary or beneficial to spend $100 to port a free game over to Mac.

Weird VIp mud issue

Before anyone asks, I only use vip for a few games.      Anyway, I've been having a strange issue with VIP so far today, where I hear the error ding whenever I load up a world, and it mentioned error logged.  Nothing else seems to go wrong, but the constant dings on entry gets slightly irritating.         The error is as follows:  Error: Type mismatchProcedure: LoadCharacterSetsParameter 1: Parameter 2: Parameter 3: Parameter 4: Parameter 5:       Again, nothing else is wrong with the muds I play afterwards, but since I switch bout a lot, I rather not deal with this annoying ding.  Anyone have any ideas how this came to happen?

At least they're being transparent about how long the first episode is. It's not like they're leading us into believing that the game is much more complex than it really is so that we'll cough up money, unlike certain other developers I could mention who are guilty of this. So how about cutting them some slack? Besides, for all we know, they might be selling it short a bit. I'm not saying we should expect thousands of hours of gameplay or anything like that, but maybe they got through it faster than the average player, being the devs and all, and if there was a beta testing team, they might also be more experienced with gaming in general.

update: I actually got it to work. and it also has full s5b emulation (as in the noise channel is emulated) and doesn't have the single track title bug from nsfplay.

The testssl thing can be run on any unix/linux/cygwin system with the latest version of openssl (preferably) installed. The VPN is most likely slower because of the encryption, though I don't really understand why that is.

Thanks! All the tests come back positive. I'm given the public IP address of my Linode as my public IP, a private IP address starting with 10, told that I'm in California, my DNS servers are all from Google, and the torrent test lists the Linode IP. Everything appears to be working. However, the connection is really slow. Files download around 100 KBps even though my connection is much faster when not connected. Is this because the traffic is routed through my Linode and back to my regular connection? I know I'm using Wi-Fi, but it's faster when not using the VPN.Where do I type those commands to verify SSL? Do I type them into the Linux console as root? Thanks for all the help.

OK, your bonus mini games are crystal rain, which is in the desert, bonuses in the clouds, which is in the plains, and jumping penguins, which is in the ice world.  Crystal rain isn’t half bad, especially when you play oh shit, which is crystal rain on steroids.  Bonuses in the clouds is super easy, all you have to do is hold the right arrow, occasionally press up-and-down, and smash your  F or enter key, depending on which one you like to use.  As for jumping penguins, just learned to center the sound. That’s all there is to it.

A couple of questions:1. How did you install the component? As slender mentioned, you have to install it manually (you would create a folder in your AppData/roaming/foobar2000/user-components directory called "foo_npnez")2. Did you copy npnez.dll in the same directory as foo_npnez.dll? Those files should be the only ones present in your foo_npnez directory.

Hmm. I personally find no issue with topic resurrection. I personally find new topic posting more annoying. Just makes things more cluttered in my opinion and makes sorting through information more of a headache. Especially if a topic goes quiet and then it comes back after maybe a year or so. It becomes one of those find more information on this topic, or this one, then we might be running through chains of topics and...Grr it makes my head hurt just thinking about it. I'd rather personally just have to check one date and one topic rather than chains of topics hunting for the information I want.

The market is headed more towards mobile than Mac, so if we're talking strictly in terms of ROI here you'd get a much bigger bang for your buck if you ported to mobile and left the Mac alone...Nowadays though I'm surprised more games aren't available for cross-platform, especially with more developers moving away from DirectX and C-style languages, no longer having the aptitude for it, to easier languages like Python and _javascript_.But no, I don't think the ROI itself should convince anyone to bother with cross-platforming to Mac. We haven't seen a large adoption in the blind community of Macs for developers to really be bothered with the challenges of cross-platform development on this system. Go mobile if you only care about the money, not Mac. There are a relatively few Mac users who make a lot of noise but when push comes to shove they're not a big enough audience to really make a difference in the bottom line.

In school, we're creating a Dichotomous key, more on that in a sec, and I need your help with seeing if I created it correctly.Dichotomous key, what is it? The problem is the object's name is not gonna be what it says in the list. I.e, if you're looking for a cup, you are probably not gonna find it by simply scanning through the steps, because the names used to identify stuff in Dichotomous keys are all Latin.So what am I suppose to do I promise, it's not gonna be hard. What you do is read and then ask yourself if the statement about the object, or in this case, a game, is true. If it is, you look at part A and go where it tells you to. If it isn't, you do the same for part b.Can I have an example please Imagine we're trying to identify a Black Cat (?) (?) with a long tail, green eyes, and pointy ears. Question 1 could look like this: Does the cat have a long or short tail? a: Long: Go to step 2 b: Short: Go to step7. Since our cat is short tailed, we'll go to step 7. Now our question could read like this: Is your cat black or white? A: black: Go to step 8 B: White: Go to step 13. Since our kitty is black, we'll go to step 8. Hi.To answer some questions.Yes, as some recognised, the game is based of the Yvio pirate game. I also have the game flying around somewhere, need to check again though.The game will be an only windows product for now, none of the team have a mac at their disposal and even if we would have one, the programming noledge in xCode or swift is just not there yet.We will see how sapi output works, we managed to include the tolk library, so screen reader and braille display are there already.Regarding the multiplayer. Currently we want to create the game that you play together with others at the same machine, we do not have a dedicated game server now, this might change though, as I said, we are currently still in the planning stage of the project, this threat is more of a marketing analysis on how well such a project would be received and how big the interest is.greetings Moritz.

yup triplex scanners are good you need them. also navsats are very useful. place them in a system and you can remotely see what's going on in that system including prices of products in each station providing you have the trade system extention. place the sats in the center of each sector so their radar sphere gets all the stations in said sector. well it will get the vast majority of them assuming there's none on the very edge. when visiting a new sector it's useful to traverse it so you can populate the sector map with all the stations/factories that are there.have you worked out a way of knowing when you have stopped at a target or a set of coords? if i remember rightly the later x games don't have an engine sound for accelleration or decelleration

Okay.HEre's my plan for the moment. I'm going to update my trade script to show cargo sizes, which is important, and average prices, which will keep people from being shafted on deals like I was, hopefully. I'll post a link to my DropBox and include some setup instructions.These are just the first few scripts I plan to make.. I'd love some support from the developer if possible, but am willing to go at it on my own if I have to.

Hi All:Until yesterday evening, I thought I had done a passably good job of sniffing out various bonus minigames across the worlds.  Then, I proved myself wrong when I attempted to try to unlock minigames.  I ran across three games which I have never seen, the latter of which cleaned me out of coins: a bonus game involving falling crystals, a truly evil (and difficult to comprehend) cloud bonus game, and a game involving bouncing on mushrooms with penguins.  If I may ask, where are these located in the normal course of play?

I forgot there were two O_O Here's 3dio:https://www.sendspace.com/file/4fki6nWhich I believe has some bugs that made it through testing without manifesting, even though that doesn't make sense. If anything weird happens related to cylinders, it's most likely a bug.Actually, if you open group3d.bgt, and ctrl+f "c=cast(c);", that's probably a bugged line that somehow hid until the past week. It should be casting f to c, not c to c, so if you ever use that function on a cylinder, it will crash.Not sure how old this copy is. There was a bug in the cylinder class, I think with the get_bounds method, but I'd have to look it up to be sure. I made a bunch of forgetful mistakes with cylinders, for some reason.

yeah you need to know what the trading curves are. buying from stations is usually an average price. what you need to do is to watch the prices of things change. the stations prices are pretty static. it's the factories that fluctuate. it's very much supply and demand driven. it is possible to flood the local markets with resources to drive the prices down in 1 area and push them up in another. you can very much alter trade routes and once you have factories settup you can create trade routes very easily.

I'll also say that love songs (or at least in my case love poetry), is a very  way to show your feelings for your significant other, but you need to make sure the other party is in a receptive mood. Hollywood and much of the pop industry aside, a sincere apology and possibly  an honest discussion of how not to have fights in the future will do more than all the "listen baby you can blame it all on me" type of songs in the world . Once the apology is dealt with in a straight forward way and your Gf is in a receptive mood, then! I agree with Ironcross, look at expressing what you feel for her in your own way. Do you tend to be demonstrative with your feelings? Are you the sort of person who finds it easy to say "I love" yo and talk about the way they feel??Do you have any pet names for her, or mutual  experiences you'd like to call on? Is there something you'd like to communicate that reminds you of her specifically, or which is important to her and symbolises your feelings for her in a way you want  to communicate more lyrically? What is your over all intention in what your doing?These are the sorts  of questions you should be asking yourself, and when you have answers see what comes out, then have a good look at it, make sure it does what you want, and spend time polishing it (inspiration is all very well, but you need to take time to make sure the inspiration comes out the way you want).
