You mean to figure out whether youw ant to speak through the reader or another tts? Sure, why not? But don't tell the user, I already know if I'm using NVDA or voiceOver.

@43: This game is only playable with OCR. If you thought the game was accessible with menus and such that will be read out with NVDA, you will not like this game at all.Although the Lion add-on for NVDA does read out things on the screen, it will not always work correctly.

Re: Corona Virus: is it the beginning of the end?

I'm right with you there, @397. I'm not of Asian descent, but I can try to empathize. Plus, living with people who believe all the garbage that's being spread about how this is bio warfare is enough to make me want to rip my hair out. You know what? If it turns out that I'm wrong, and it really is that, then fine, I'll own that. But the probability of it being such a race-fueled cause is so small that I can't even imagine a measurement little enough to encompass the sheer unlikelihood of that scenario. It was, however, very disheartening to hear someone who has been fighting the virus themselves earlier telling me that they believe it's a good possibility.

Re: Blue screen of death!!! Can it be fixed? By a blind individual

reading a BSOD to see whats wrong, no. However if you do know what your doing, and can have someone tell you what it says (the BSOD that is) you can look it up on google. I'm sure that that can tell you what is wrong and possible ways to fix it. The manufacturor of the computer is important, as well. Some of it might just be driver problems, witch is a quick download ont oa different device, plug in a flashdrive, and try to re-install the drivers. Or, you can always just re-install windows, it will try to get whatever drivers it can as long as you have internet connnection durring the installation of windows. If you choose to do an upgrade to windows 10 it makes a backup of your windows folder as windows.old, and you can get all your data from there. Just not your jfw13.0 registration, that you would have to find out on your own. Use NVDA, though, for that exact reason. Its a quick copy of your user configuration, and its really easy to install using narrator until you click the installer. You can even install windows with Narrator if you have to. I hope everything goes well for you. ***to a different person***However, if the hardrive is dammmaged like someone else said your kind of doomed, because that means it can't really be read, or there are empty blocks where data can't go because that sector is currupt (remember AAC?) As for the person @3 who talked about how stupidly small and expensive CPU's are, your not kidding dude. They're very small and i don't get why they have to be. Its not like we need a full powered server mainframe in the size of our hand, at least most people don't.

it's like it's installing the SDK without any voices. I've tried changing the windows version and everything. The game runs perfectly, but there's no way I can play with no speech, and the Ivona voices are notorious for not running right under windows 10, so no bootcamp. I couldn't bootcamp if I wanted to. It's always been around, it just sits there waiting for NVDA to load. Unlike Manamon, that only initiates a screenreader check when one is actually present. Removing the NVDA controller client dll will make the program unable to call it, thus forcing sapi output.

You cannot cheat in AAC. All relevant values are encrypted or otherwise obfuscated so you can't find them, even if you know what you're looking for. As far as I know, nobody has managed to reverse engineer how this is done. Bottom line, cheating in AAC is impossible.

@1,From the RWP, Reapers without peepers list,Download PitchProof from here:https://aegeanmusic.com/downloads/Then make 2 tracks. One for your incoming audio and a second one for controlling the pitch with your keyboard.Press I and set your midi out to the plugin. Now you can make the singer sing exactly the note you press on your keyboard by playing the melody of the song, or just the bad notes to correct them. This plug-in is in fact a harmonizer plug-in. There you can designate a key, major or minor (parameter that is not accessible for us not even using the OCR), and there, based on the specified key, it adjusts the harmony accordingly, using a set of intervals. It is in fact a faster way to harmonize lead vocals.

Samurai is nearly a complete package. Healing, wall (shell plus protect), damage, regen, haste. If you think its healing or its shell-protect aren't good enough, use priest or cleric. If you like its completeness, consider mediator as your secondary (talkskill, for praise, which will jack your attack up). Generally, you'll want to wear armour, not robes, as a samurai; don't build wis on an str char.

Re: Is Microsoft Teams accessible?

Back to my original comment on the question. I tried it on Mac, it is very slow and menus keep changing, also you have to adapt the way you use  QuickNav, sometimes you have to turn it off and sometimes you can never move within the windows without it on. For Windows, I tried it with NVDA. For those who said it is accessible, do let me know how you can navigate to your teams and select one? Yes there is a shortcut, but when you press enter or perform any of activation command, even touch screen gestures, it is very confusing. Accessibility does not mean readable menus and buttons and so on, it means it is usable with available set of commands of accessibility software like screen readers. Also, when you eventually get to your teams, there is no way to start a conversation with them. There is a list of keyboard shortcuts, try CMD+F6, you will get a notification that this content can not be explored with keyboard, is that accessibility?

Differentiating x^3 [with respect to x], it would be 3x^2 like you'd expect from the power rule. If you were differentiating y^3 [with respect to x], however, it would be 3y^2 * y-prime, where y-prime is dy/dx, or, the derivative of y with respect to x. All you're essentially doing is deriving all terms of an equation by multiplying by d/dx, so if you have:x^3+y^3 = 8and you were solving for dy/dx (y-prime)Multiply all terms by d/dx (i.e.: take the derivative of each term with respect to x)x^3 would become 3x^2 like abovey^3 would become 3y^2 * y-prime8 would be 0 (from the rule of constants)We're left with 3x^2 + 3y^2 * y-prime = 0To solve for y-prime, subtract 3x^2 from both sidesDivide both sides by 3y^2 from both sidesy-prime = -3x^2/3y^2The 3s cancel, so you're left with y-prime = -x^2/y^2This will become far more apparent what this means and why it's important when covering related rates of change where you are differentiating with respect to t (time) and there is no explicit equation for solving for it, which is why we use implicit differentiation - we are implicating the rate at which A is changing with respect to B changing by determining the rate at which B is changing. For example, if a circle has a radius that is increasing at  a rate of 3 cm per second, determine the rate at which the circumference of the circle is changing when the radius is equal to 5 cm. This is a pretty basic example but illustrates the concept as straightforward as I think you can get it. All you are being asked to find is the rate at which the circumference is increasing given two pieces of information: the length of the radius and the rate at which the radius is increasing. Since we have an equation for circumference, we know what r is, and we know the rate at which r is increasing, it's very simple to find the rate at which c (circumference) is increasing. Using c = 2PI * r, we [relating] the rate at which the radius is increasing, which is explicitly given to us by 3 cm per second to the other rate we are trying to find, in this case circumference. Note that the radius is increasing, so it is positive. It also turns out we don't need r = 10 for this example since deriving r just gives us 1. This makes sense because the circumference's rate of change is not strictly dependent on the radius itself. We just need to relate the radius's rate of change to the circumference's rate of change, so this example actually worked out better than I initially thought.Remember, you're deriving every term in the equation you are using with respect to time. Not that these suggestions are exclusive to distance-learning circumstances, but are more emphasized due to that fact. I'd strongly suggest using them under normal circumstances as well.Hope this helps!

Re: accessible_output2 Error on Mac (Python3.7.6)

@13The NVDA DLL isn't my problem: it's the things using it.  I don't particularly want to have to bundle more LGPL things as separate DLLS, and MIT and BSD licenses require you to have a whole thing in place to make sure that the license files get copied into the distribution.  Not to mention that in Python, being LGPL means not being able to prevent reverse engineering (though just binding a C library doesn't infect).  Unfortunately reading code under license x usually makes the result also license x unless you're really really careful.  But to me there is high value in having stuff under the unlicense or in public domain, since we're talking about games and no one wants to track down all 500 (literally 500) license files that got pulled in to their project.  Does anyone care? Probably not, most people here are (whether they like it or not) teenagers making games for teenagers, and no one is going to get mad that you didn't "include a copy of this statement with every substantial portion of the software" or whatever. But nonetheless.I'm not against credit, I just don't have the resources to track things to the required degree. Library a brings in b and c which brings in d, e, and f under who knows what licenses...The live region approach doesn't give up anything as long as all screen readers support it, and as far as I know they do (including Narrator).  You just have to have a window handle you have enough control over to implement the UIA and/or NSAccessibility interfaces on and the patience to actually do it.  You'll get politeness levels, so you even have notification priority.  Only things you don't have are a separate braille stream and the ability to stop speech, but i've never seen a game use either of those. My ideal game engine stuff would be built around accessible GUI widgets anyway, simply because there's just so many patterns that we reimplement when we decide that the thing to do is basically write a game-specific screen reader, so to that end I'd probably already have the window handle.  But on the whole it is almost certainly much easier to include the NVDA DLL, call the Jaws COM interface, forget about Narrator, and do whatever for Mac.  Plus since I haven't done the live region thing, merely worked out the pieces for it, I can't guarantee that it works. On Windows you can override the window callback and inject into a window that already exists. I don't know if an equivalent works for mac, and I don't remember the Windows function offhand. But you respond to WM_GETOBJECT and pass all other messages through and I'm 99% sure that's good enough to get a UIA implementation of your own in. Not a great idea on anything but the thing that just grabs keystrokes because you'd have to forward everything else to the underlying control, but it'll get you enough to build a UIA tree and then in that UIA tree you set up a live region and you're off to the races. In theory.  What everyone forgets is that all the stuff that exists in HTML is officially documented; if you were masochistic enough you could implement an entire browser-like control without any visual components on the screen whatsoever, just by lying to the accessibility APIs.

It would set a bad precedent to just let him back on to the forum after he made at least 2 other accounts to evade his ban. There is a rule against doing this, and I think each new account he made should have added more time on to his ban time. If he is just let back in without any punishment then it will let other people know that they can make other accounts to let them wait the bans out on their main accounts with impunity.

Hi Gorilla,When I first  heard the rumour that the developers were completely reinventing the battle system for the remake, I have to confess I was a little worried they were going to brutalise a classic game. However, I have to say I’ve actually been really impressed with the updated battle system, I think the new real time battle system seems to work well. From an audio description point it definitely made them more interesting to watch and hopefully was more enjoyable  for you when you were playing  and making the videos. As for boss battles, I think you’re right, Final Fantasy 7 had some truly epic boss battles in there and I think with the new battle system the Developers are going to go all out on those battles, best hope you’ve got a lot of potions stored up by then Paul Lemm

It worked well a few months ago, and then, all of a sudden, it's like accessibility dropped!I briefly remember someone mentioning that Electron itself has lost a bit in the way of accessibility. I wonder if this is why I've been experiencing some difficulties with the Windows version.Funnily enough, today people have been seriously talking about switching things over to Microsoft Teams over from Skype.Note: I'm talking about Skype for Business not regular desktop application. I wish I could help in resolving this issue, but I would need to do a lot of learning on the Mac before I could speak intelligently about a problem like this. My intention is to keep working with the Mac and eventually pick up objective C/Swift and apple script, but I need to feel comfortable using Voiceover first.Thank you to the developers who end up tackling this issue,Timothy Breitenfeldt

Re: Distance Learning and Math Courses

@13, I actually have a scribe who will read me exams/quizzes and write down my work/answers. I practically pulled out all the stops when it came to figuring out accommodations - Braille book, scribe, notetaker, tutor. Fortunately, I have one single person who acts as all three which makes the process very smooth. The way you're doing it through Zoom is exactly how I do it ordinarily. I've been able to focus solely on the material without the worry of handling the accommodations in parallel. As far as implicit differentiation is concerned, it depends on with respect to what variable you are differentiating. Since there is no variable for time (t), you will be implicitly differentiating. The derivative of e^x is e^x per the chain rule, actually. I believe it's something like the derivative of a*e^x for some constant a is a * e^x * the derivative of the inside of the function, in this case, x. The derivative of x is just 1, so e^x*dx/dx = e^x.PI * r^2 derived is 2PI * r with respect to r (the radius), so that checks out. Some really cool stuff comes directly from mathematical concepts like exponential growth. Sparing the details that I'm guaranteed to mess up, first-order differential equations is actually the concept from which exponential growth is derived, but that's a Calc 2 concept. What really made Calc 2 difficult is quite similar to @14 - there are a lot of different ways to integrate, which you get exposed to at the end of Calc 1 but really hammer in Calc 2. There's at least 6-7 ways to do so, and it's not always plainly apparent which method is the easiest/takes the least amount of steps to do. It is vitally important to keep up with all the different techniques since you'll be applying them left and right when learning other concepts. Limits also show up again and play a pretty big role at times, too.

My Racing Career: become a great manager for your own racers!

My Racing Career: become a great manager for your own racers!

Alright, I posted this here, because I didn't find a single topic in this forum that discussed this game.Although there are probably quite a number of users of this forum who know this game,I share it specifically for those who don't know. This game is indeed about racing, but don't rush to think that you are the racer. This is a text based browser game, so don't expect more, ok?At the beginning of registering, you will be asked to make your own racer.Give him a name, and he will be the driver, while you are the boss and manager.Find a sponsor who is ready to finance him throughout the race season, train him with the various types of exercises available, hire experienced staff to support him in the race, and don't forget to register him in the race!Regarding accessibility, there is no need to ask.I can't possibly share a game with unclear accessibility to this forum.Even if there are things that can't be accessed in this game,it's certainly not the important thing that will affect the success of your race,I guarantee. So, please try it yourself.https://www.myracingcareer.com/

Re: Monthly chat April 2020

Hey all,@13, you're not alone. Here in the UK at least, we're givven assignments to do during the regular school day, and we often have to use hangouts or google meet for our classes. Thankfully our school broke up for half term on Tuesday, so I have at least a few weeks without any work. I'm not looking forward to next term though, that's the time when our exams would normally start, but since their are no exams anymore we'll be doing a hole bunch of papers for every subject instead. It's probably a lot to wish for at this point, but I hope we'll at least be back in school by then. This learning from home thing just doesn't work for me.|As for myself, I've recently gotten into miriani and have been loving it, so when I'm not checking twitter or playing undead asault, that's usually what I'm doing. I would give my character name, but not sure if that would be against the rules or not since it would kind of break RP.Hope you all stay safe this April.

Re: trying to add camera support to my application with no luck

I've mostly messed around with the Python variant of OpenCV, otherwise i'd have more to say about your issues. I noticed some time ago that there is a market of available single board 3D stereo camera's available on amazon from sellers like ELP or SVPRO [here], they mostly appear to be for either robotics or VR headsets like the VIVE. I picked one up which also supports infared, though that apparently requires a separate attachment. The biggest problem i've had so far is that there's little or no documentation for it, and the OpenCV doc's on calibrating wide angle stereo camera's is complete garbage, that and the cameras have a limited thermal range. I suppose on the plus side I can get simgle cameras to work for my home brew sonifier rig.

Re: New Accessibility feature added to Politics And War! Be Independent !

nope. You're in the colour block called beige for 2 weeks. In this time, other nations are not able to attack you. This is ample time to beef up your army, and joining an alliance. Alliances are powerful groups of nations that protect and aid one another. They give loans, grants, guides, and protect you from raders. A decent allince is confideracy of Iron States, or Schroot Farms. I'm in Confederacy of Iron States at the moment, but I highly recommend SF as well. You can find me as Vincentian Livlandia, and please use my link so I can get money. I'll give you a 10 million dollars out of the 25 million.

Re: The victor reader stream isn't worth it and I'm sticking to apple.

@jack: I completely agree with you. I don't regret my purchase of the treck. I've owned all 3 streams, the first gen, second gen, and the treck. THe first gen I don't have anymore, but i have both the treck and the second gen still. It's really great to hear that updates are coming. I indeed did see something in my e-mail about a podcast they are doing talking about what they have planned fot the treck this year. I believe it's going to be sometime on the 7th of this month for anyone who is interested. I'm not sure what time it will be, but i'm pretty sure there's a recording you will be able to listen to later.

@11: Glad to know there are others who are enthusiastic about languages! Man, I feel bad because for the longest time, we've been meaning to connect. But I'm sure you're busy, and I find myself busy a lot of times as well. But certainly a good conversation among some of us VI polyglots would be really great.Anyway, OP, I hope some of these resources help.
