Annoying whatsapp problem on my iPhone Hello guys,Well, recently, WhatsApp started to be a bit problematic on my iPhone. The cursor kept scroling randomly when I tried to read messages. For example, when I flick right, normally it would go to the next message, but in my case, it sometimes doesn't do that. It will sometimes scrol to somewhere else, like one of the messages I received previously. Sometimes the cursor will also scroll to somewhere else while I'm reading messages (voiceover will just get interupted and start reading the message the cursor scrolled to). This problem doesn't occur in other apps like safari, at least as far as I know. Anyone had this problem before? Also, do any kind of setting cause this problem, or is it because I'm using iPhone 3gs with whatsapp? I don't know whether its just my imagination or its for real but my computer doesn't seem to stop responding that much. NVDA also seem to become more responsive, but since I only tried this for a day...EDIT: OK this is not making sense... The first time I maximised on the forum window using the system menu as Sam suggested, it didn't work. After I posted this post though it worked fine to display the audiogames date and karma thing, and restoring still shows that information...hmm...Well...it seems NVDA has kind of a temper. A few computer problems I'm having..thoughts? Hello everyone,Recently my computer is starting to act weird. The problems I'm having are like these:1. NVDA becomes unresponsive when you leave the computer for too long without providing input. This happens whenever I'm watching a movie, or reading a fanfiction, or doing any other things that doesn't require input. When you try to either pause the computer, or stop NVDA from talking (since I use the say all function on NVDA and wants to pause it), they either lag, or does not respond at all.2. NVDA lagging in speech: this is actually related to the first problem I'm having. Right after those unresponsive moments, after NVDA finally starts responding, when I try to, say, use the arrow keys to move between desktop icons, the cursor did move, but NVDA is stuck repeating the previous icon I'm on. For example, if I move from recycle bin to my documents, the cursor does move, but NVDA will say, recycle bin one of seven, my documents two of se ven. Instead of just stop talking about recycle bin once I move to my documents.3. Weird sticky key problem: know that I didn't use the sticky keys function on windows, ever, but the weird thing is, that sometimes after NVDA/my computer/internet explorer becomes unresponsive, a few keys will seemingly be held down even though I didn't hold anything. For example, after one of those times where this happened, the control key seem to be pressed down even though I didn't press the control key. I tried using insert down arrow to ask NVDA to say all, but it only causes my NVDA to set the current voice settings to a lower value - if you know about the CTRL Insert arrow keys on NVDA will change voice settings on the fly you'll know what I mean. Those settings usually require you to hold down CTRL and then press insert + arrow keys, but I only pressed insert + arrows without pressing control but it still sets the settings. I tried to press C when the control key see m to be stuck, and it coppies whatever I selected to the clipboard instead of, say, moving to the next combo box when I'm using internet Explorer.4. Weird computer RAM problem: whenever NVDA/my computer/whatever program I'm using becomes unresponsive, or even when it doesn't, my computer seems to use a lot of RAM for nothing. I know this because the computer's motherboard fan becomes extremely loud and everything doesn't respond correctly on the computer, sometimes requiring me to restart the damn thing. and this happened even if I'm not using any programs (I'm at the task switching window and it still happens)5. Audiogames.net forum problem (on my computer anyway): before this I'm able to read the location, posts, user karma and the like of users who posted things on topics, but now I can only read the title and the online/offline thing of the user. Even while reading the recently active topics/topics with new posts pa ge, before this I am able to read the date of the last post, but now I can't. That doesn't bother me as much but still its damn annoying.I've tried restoring NVDA configurations to default, but it doesn't work. I have a few inclings as to why these problems happened: one is that my graphic card might have been malfunctioning - I heard that if your computer's graphic card malfunctions these things can happen. If I down arrow it brings me straight to the new page (since combo boxes on fanfiction.net brings you to chapters which you want, and combo boxes on audiogames forum brings you to the forums you choose, etc). It usually allows me to choose the options I want by listing it out in an icon-like way, but now it doesn't. Whenever I went there if I press down arrow, or whatever key, it just brings me to the previous/next page corresponding to the options that's the one previous/next to my current one. without letting me choose.EDIT: I forgot two problems I'm also having on my computer. One of them is that I can't activate some links using the enter ke. I also couldn't activate links using the applications key and then press open. When I try to activate some links (not all links since I still can activate most of them), it gave m e options like back, forward, save background as, set as background etc, instead of open, open in new window, open in new tab, save target as and the like. I suppose I should install some other soundfonts or some such, as I find that some midi files will have muted tracks when Microsoft GS wavedable is used...Also, I know that they use the GM list, but how comes I couldn't change the instrument used when playing songs? No matter which one I choose its always the same piano sound...How could I, say, change it to a guitar sound for instance? I have attempted to make music with QWS and its quite accessible, but I noticed one problem that I had: after inserting notes into the track, when I played using QWS it sounded OK, but once I saved it and tried to play it using, say, windows media player, it sounded as though the track stopped unnaturally. (E.G, in my tracks the piano sound seem to fade properly when played with QWS, but once I saved and played with media player it sounded like the piano just suddenly stopped without fading out). Any ideas? Note that I used the note editor since I don't have any midi keyboards...is that its cause?Also, how to change the instruments? I mean I tried to use the instruments optio in QWS, but all I have are like the piano names like Yamaha and the like. My default is the emu9000 instrument I think (I can't remember). The weird thing is when I tried to change from, say, Emu to Yamaha it still sound the same when I used the note e ditor to try to insert notes. Help would be greatly appreciated. Uh, what do you mean automatically makes it, Techmaster?The terminator, there's an option in the, I believe tools menu, where you can choose which sort of tune (sign, square, and sawtooth waves I think) that you want to make. Not to mention you can type in the frequency of the tune itself and the time in ms yo uwant the tune to be (E.G, to make a 1 second sign wave beep, just type 1000 in the time box). Note that I didn't use audacity for a long long long time now so it might not be accurate. Making music with only your computer? Hello guys,I was wondering whether it is possible to make complex music with all that electric guitar sounds and all with only your computer? I mean, since it is possible to make tunes on audacity and goldwave, and it is also possible to edit and mix sounds into music or sound sequences, I became curious. Also, if it is possible, where can we even get the sounds of musical instruments? There is no way of completely removing the vocals -- unless the vocal is on one channel and the rest of the music are on the other ones, then you can remove that channel. However, the gold wave reduce vocals isnt so relyable. It could remove vocals, sometimes almost entirely, but it will almost always leave some trace of the vocal behind, Im afraid. The only fail-safe ways of making an orchestral music is if you have the individual files that composed the music (drums, guitars, pianoes etc all not mixed), then you can just mix all the drums and stuff without the vocal. Or perhaps studioes have professional devices that will remove the vocals completely. Imho, the movies would probably show some unexpressable things, like the girl being cursed with the necklace, harrys scar hurting, horcruxes being destroyed (it spills ink out all over, yes, but yo uwouldnt be able to really imagine the screaming soul thing unless you heard it)Parceltongue... Indeed, it sounds quite too human, but the first instance where it is shown (chamber of secrets) is quite OK imho. I mean, just think, it sounded like a hiss in the books, but how would the snake know what youre telling it to do with just a single hiss? Yes, there could be paterns (longness and shortness of the hisses, and the timing of them, or even the slight growling sort of hiss), but eh...I think themovies did quite a good impression. And another seen we cant picture (at least imo), is Snape being killed by Nagini. And of course various other seens, but Id much prefer it not audio described, since actions always made me feel good. I never did disbelieve science; I didnt say blood is something God create to sustain us; I say its a substance that transfers other substances in our body and we need it to stay alive because we need oxygen, all our cells do. I just dont want a scientific viewpoint because I already knew almost what scientists are about to say so I prefer another, non-scientific viewpoint. Like I said there are a lot of unexplainable things in the world. If you ever saw some mysterious things youll know; yes, some are fake tricks (fake water-bending by using a small thin string with a cup hanging there, and the string being as thin as it is its almost invisible to most... or firebending simply by cloaking your hand in bubble and holding the fire...) but some are real (what, how did they survive on a bed with nails? Of course they could with tricks, but what if they arent?). Those are unexplainable to most and definitely undoable by most normal people.Spiritual experie nces? I have those too, even those unrelated to chi. Like calming people simply by meditating (Well I tried spiritually reaching to them and so yeah), sensing spirits (again that might be because spirits are made of chi or they have some residue of chi on them), out of body experiences (no not really, just the feeling you got, it felt like your spirit is floating around without you actually dying), spiritual dreams (seeing my ancestors, gods, or even having a curse removed by god and feeling better the next day...) etc. So I do believe the ycompliment each other, just not completely. There isnt proof that this is real yet we experienced it. Similar to chi, it isnt proven whether it is real, but many did experience it and use it (heck, I went to chi gong together with a few others, the master was attempting to chi heal me, he said that we should see colours and feel warmth, one of the other person did and the others didnt, and I also did, god that intensity). And I do believe it works... only to an extent though;if it did fully my eyes wouldve completely healed rather than this. My family even said once that I might be able to see chi because I saw it when I was young. Am I feeling chi or... Hello there,Firstly I wish you wont see this in a scientific way -- since if you do you will say Chi might possibly not exist. But I believed it did because I had went to chi gong once or twice and felt the chi flow into me from the master.Now to my questions: First I suppose I should tell you Im completely blind. Now to my real question: for whatever reason, when I look at someone (not literarily looking, but rather a different way to describe it), I can see (or feel since I cant see) colours of some sort radiate from the person. I can also feel some form of heat (not body temperature, this Im sure because Im far from the person). And since the sensation of heat is similar to when I went to chi gong when I was very young, I started to wonder whether its Chi Im feeling. Also the intensity increases if Im meditating; particularly if I just relax and not think of a nything; and that sensation usually calms me. Though the weird thing is others couldnt feel it or see it. Someone else also said he could feel the heat when he went to chi gong too, so here Im asking.I just wish Im not imagining things... Hello there people,Recently my Skype updated itself to 6.22.something, and now I had a whole lot of problems (which is! pretty major if you think about it):1. Chat messages: NVDA wont read any incoming messages. it plays skype sounds but thats it. Now I could just use JAWS and install the scripts to fix this... Alright, lets go to some problems installing the scripts doesnt seem to fix:2. Unable to receive files: I know someone sent me files. Normally Id go to that message, tab to save as and then receive it normally but, with both JAWS and NVDA tabbing once wont do anything, and tabbing twice will skip you entirely to the message edit field. Ive found an article about this where the article said that the files will be automatically downloaded. Fine, then, it said to double click the message saying the person sent you the file and or right clicking it and find open, but how do they expect me to do that with a blind eye and well practically no control over the mouse as I cant really focus it properly?3. Advertisements: OK, I know Skype has advertisements - which I dont mind much - but! the advertisements are sometimes in between the chat edit box and the history! Now I could just tab and tab and tab and try to find the history and the chat edit box, but why couldnt they just make it like the old style where the advertisement will appear and then disappear, or at least make screen-readers not bother so much or just get them out of the way? Sometimes tabbing from them will land you in an unknown field where you cannot! really do anything, except tab and shift tab. And why the heck did it need to hang there when I tab once from the unknown field and only move when I tabbed twice. Same case with JAWS!Sorry for the rude language, Im just mighty annoyed with this now since my friend sent me something I so wanted (well notes for school) and I cant receive them just because of the stupid problems! Even though I studied in special schools for about 8 years and only on mainstream schools for 2 years (Im still 14), I think mainstream schools are better, even though they might not have the accomodations like special schools. Then again theres a special unit in the mainstream school... And guess what? Were still! using Perkin braillers in classes every day, carrying them all around and having sighted teachers who knew braille transcribe it! The kids at special school learn much, much slower than normal, and the teachers slowed down just to follow their pace, which annoyed me so. The good thing though, is that my school (The special school) brought us to trips sometimes to foreign countries for free... still mainstream is better. Some people asked me Well why not go to the special school thats near yoru house? admitedly the mainstream school is about a 45 minute car r ide from my house, but I said, I wanna blend in with the society like a normal person. Not just hang around the blind. There are a few blindies in the mainstream school Im attending, and admitedly they act more like normal people than blindies after they attend mainstream schools! Though I think some of the teachers there are overprotective sometimes, like hey dont punch each other, even though we did not and just look like we did, and, were simply playing! Sigh... AND well, te special school had too much accomodation that mobility is almost too easy, but they didnt! teach us how to use canes and such until were about 11! admitedly my o and M skills are like crap... but thats for another topic. Re: Youtube Website, strange issue with search results The strange problem I had with YouTube (which I dont have any idea whether it has been resolved or not), is that if a vidio starts, when you up or down arrow, NVDA wouldnt speak. You need to manually press the insert+up arrow key for it to speak the current line. And you know whats even worse? If a vidio starts and you haventwent into the flash object, you navigate to it and press enter, nothing will happen using NVDA! You wont be able to enter the flash object so it means, unfortunately, that either I have to get to the flash object quickly enough before the vidio starts, or that I cant pause the vidoi... Anyone have this issue? It works fine like, about, 1 month ago and had just started recently. I love geeky stuff, like computers, iPhones and the like, but still, meditating is a good way to calm yourself when youre angry, anxious, sad etc. Its also a step to communicate with God, in some religions at least. Te experience of meditating is really a very good one, imo.The only thing that might freak you out is that some people said meh, meditating is a waste of time or Its useless to meditate. Just dont care about them. Do what you like to do. The only thing Im scared of experiences when meditating is the out-of-body experiences. Not to mention the microphone port seems to be spoiled as I cant use microphones on this laptop, and the laptop doesnt detect batteries and therefore didnt charge them, let alone allow me to use it when the battery is put in. I wont change my laptop yet, however, since I dont need to use a microphone much, and I would prefer to use plugs more than using batteries.As for performance problems, my laptop often lags when using facebook, and various other apps. Not as serious as yours though it lags badly in the downloads folder for my user acount when i start moving from one item to the next and NVDA just give those progress bar beeps. The strange thing is that once the NVDA beeps stop, the lag stops as well. Questions about startup sounds on windows vista/7 Hello all,As most of you probably noticed, the startup sounds in windows vista and 7 cant be changed through the sounds control panel. I didnt care about it much (I did a little because Im trying to create a special sound scheme containing bleeps and i want to change the startup sounds), but what annoys me is that the startup.wav sound in %windir%\media is completely different from the startup jingle we heard when actually starting up windows. At least, on my laptop, it sounds like some quiet sound that sounds a bit like plastic knocking against plastic, or something like that. What is happening? Did you guys have this problem?Also, I found a program called startup sound changer that allows us to change the startup sounds on windows7, and another method which requires hacking into a DLL which I wont go into right now. What I want to ask is, anyone of you use it? It worked well on my laptop, at least thats what happens when i tried about 3 months ago. Also, if anyone knew, is this program illegal or not? Why does microsoft disallow changing of startup sounds in the first place? I hope you guys understand what Im trying to ask and say, and give me a feedback about this, which will be appreciated.
