Re: [Dhis2-users] Use DHIS2 in other Sectors

2016-07-15 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Hi Andrew,

The meta model of DHIS2 lying on the 3 dimensions of data ("WHAT", "WHEN",
"WHERE") makes it possible to be used in any sector for which this model
applies.

I've been using it obviously for national health programs in my country,
but also (not officially though) for the electoral information system (WHAT
were "number of voters", "number of votes", plus indicators such as
"turnout", "votes for candidates" / WHERE were the administrative electoral
hierarchy, the last nodes being the polling stations / and WHEN the period
of vote).

The GIS module has proven to be a very efficient tool for analyzing
electoral results at each level of the administrative electoral
subdivision. And DHIS2 completely demonstrated its ability to handle the
information system of this "other sector".

Kind regards,
Kader

Is there another instance of tomcat running ? It seems that there is a
problem to bind to the needed ports

Can you run netstat -tupan to check ?

Or is someone having a better understanding of this case... ?

Hello Moemedi,

Can you output here the log file (exple: tomcat-dhis/logs/catalina.out)

To go in the same direction as Knut, another difficulty with the
translation server is to 'locate' the string in its 'context' in order to
be able to translate it accurately. Is there not a way, Jason, to locate

Hi Jason,
I use both French and English user interfaces. But there's more and more
implementations in Francophone countries (Senegal, Burkina Faso,
Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo, etc.) and it is important that the
French user interface remains available as this is generally an important
factor to convince the beneficiaries of the project in these countries to
its adoption. I suppose it's the same with Sapnish speaking countries.

Kind regards

Re: [Dhis2-users] Unable to create parent org unit in 2.23

2016-05-04 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Thank you Henri. This has been done as well on my side when creating the
root orgunit.

Digging further, on postgresql:

# select uid, code, created, name, shortname, parentid, hierarchylevel,
openingdate from organisationunit;

displays my root organisation unit (no value for parentid column).

I've been able to insert a new organisation unit with sql having the root
uid as parentid as well. But on the maintenance interface, they are not
visible.

Is there anything else we can check ?

Kind regards

2016-05-04 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Hi,
I'm experiencing the same issue. A fresh 2.23 install. Log says that
orgunit has been created. I restarted the dhis2 server and cleared cache.
I then checked user's role: admin is Superuser.
Still on the user's info, under "Data capture and maintenance organisation
units" as well as "Data output and analysis organisation units", the top
organisation unit displays there.
When selecting Organisation Unit Group submenu, I have this message on the
"select" area: "0 Organisation units selected ** no_roots_found**"
Kind regards,
Kader

Re: [Dhis2-users] Which is the definitive guide to Metadata design in DHIS?

2016-04-26 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Hello Adam,

Can you clarify what you mean by creating metadata ?

The implementation guide and the user documentation are the main
documentation to read in order to get started. You can also look at the
demo (https://play.dhis2.org/demo) in order to get a better understanding
on how DHIS2 can fit your specific case.

Do you plan to use it to collect then analyze regular data on agriculture
on a set of areas with predefined organization ?

Good luck.

Kind regards,
Kader

Re: [Dhis2-users] dhis version 2.23 is released

2016-04-26 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Dear Lars,

Congratulations for this new release and all the improvements that were
made by the development team. Being in search of a way to handle clusters,
I'll be happy to test this feature. Do you know if it is planned to extend
this feature to spatial and temporal analysis applied to thematic layers ?
(I'm thinking about something like the Kulldorf statistics applied to
detect clusters of high or low risk disease incidence and being used by the
SaTScan software).

Kind regards,

[Dhis2-users] Dynamically build a cluster of orgunits with the DHIS2 GIS using web APIs

2016-04-17 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Hi,

I'm using a spatio-temporal analysis software that takes data element
values from DHIS2 and computes incidence clusters which correspond, from
the DHIS2 view, to a set of orgunits identified by their uids. The software
outputs a csv file containing these uids. I would like then to dynamically
build a corresponding map with the DHIS2 GIS module showing these clusters,
using the web APIs. It should consist in :

1) creating the boundary layers showing all orgunits being at the same
level as the clusters uid
2) creating a thematic layer that assigns the same "value" to the orgunits
of the cluster and associate them with a legend set

I can't see with the Web API documentation how to start doing this. Can I
have your help please ?

Thanking you in advance.

Kind regards,
Kader

Do you mean report data element at future period ? If so, you can edit your
data set and look at a field named 'allow future period' and set it to yes.

Docummentation here:

Is there a way to do this?

[Dhis2-users] Organisation unit groups import

2014-11-27 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Hi,

I tried to make a meta data csv import for our organisation unit groups,
but only the name of the organisation units have been created - the
organisation units haven't been 'linked' to the groups.

The pattern of my csv file is :

name_of_group,uid_of_ou,code

where uid_of_ou is the id of the organisation unit which would belong to
the group.

Am I missing something ?

[Dhis2-users] GIS / GML import for organisation unit group sets

2014-11-25 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Hello,
I'm on a special case where it is not relevant, in the definition of the
organisation units, to create an intermediate level between the root and
the facilities. However, it is essential to create 3 sets of organisation
units groups in order to mimic 3 parallel hierarchies involving
combinations of completely different facilities. Before going forward, I
would like to know if it is possible to just import coordinates
corresponding to groups of organization units and then use them in the GIS
module, or if it should be any other aspects to consider. Thanks in advance
for your help.

Re: [Dhis2-users] GIS / GML import for organisation unit group sets

2014-11-25 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Hi Lars,
Thank you for your answer. The same facilities are shared between the set
of orgunits groups, but their combinations are independant and of different
sizes. Analyzes would be meaningful for these groups only. It will be
necessary then to look for the smaller geographical units that recreate all
groups of orgunits and place the facilities in those units, which will
require to make approximations with the boundaries.

Best regards,
Kader

 Hi Kader,

at the the moment we do not support coordinates for org unit groups,

With completely different facilities - do you mean that the same
facilities placed under different hierarchies of polygons/areas/districts?
Or are the facilities not shared between the different hierarchies?

 Lars

Re: [Dhis2-users] GIS shapefiles integration / info about names of feature members

Hi.

Jason took a look on my files and it appears actually that some .dbf files
were corrupted. This could happen as he says when opening a .dbf file with
Excel than saving it again with this software.

I've been able to correctly run ogr2ogr command with new .dbf files taken
from the source and generate the appropriate .gml files. It might be
interesting for this task to get tools for checking integrity of
shapefiles, any idea ?

Thank you for your help.

2014-09-26 21:31 GMT+03:00 Knut Staring knu...@gmail.com:

You have to run the FWTools shell, not your ordinary command window.

Once you have opened that, just go to c:\Simplification:

  cd
  cd Simplification

 Rremove the previously generated file:

 rm Communes.gml

 Now try again:

  ogr2ogr -f GML Communes.gml Communes.shp

Yes Knut,

They are the same. Attached screenshot of directory and QGIS attribute

Is it because I'm running the FWTool ogr2ogr from the FWTool directory
whereas the shapefiles are in a different dir (see 3rd screenshot) ?

Re: [Dhis2-users] Dataset Section

2014-07-24 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Hi Knut,

For customizing the forms, I move all the source code to a html wysiwyg
editor, such as frontpage. This gives me the ability to identify the form
elements and give them the layout I want.

For the cell width, I add a _style_ attribute in the input tag. This is one
example:

input *style=width:4em;text-align:center*
 id=TCTY9boIn41-j5CfAgw1uth-val title=TCTY9boIn41 -xxx value=xxx /

You can adapt the size with the width attribute (here 4em, but could be
more or even less, depending on how you want to manage the inputs)

Best regards
Kader

2014-07-24 19:47 GMT+03:00 Knut Staring knu...@gmail.com:

Hm...I thought custom forms would do the trick, but unfortunately the very
act of binding each cell in the table to a dataelement/categoryoptioncombe
makes in the online editor makes the cells far too wide (see the attached
 form).

Would be greateful for tips on how to keep the cells the same width as
they are in the right hand columns.

Related to this, we have a big form where most sections are very simple

have to scroll a lot horizontally. This also means it is very easy for them
to lose track of where they are, though of course they do have the little
box in the upper right corner which is meant to help with exactly those
 cases.

So, in general we are very happy with the autogenerated form (and it is
huge, with 10 sections), but would like to be able to customize the layout
for this particular section (actually, the IDEAL option would be to be able
to specify the width of the cells - as we could well have cells only a
 third of the automatic width).

I suppose the best solution for now is to separate out this particular
section into a separate form, but are we planning to support custom forms
 for sections?

Re: [Dhis2-users] Dataset Section

2014-07-24 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
I agree with you.
In fact, I think it would be nice to complete the ability to create custom
forms, by giving the possibility to edit its css styles in a separate file.
This way, we could have a more complete control on the look-and-feel of the
forms.
Adding cellspadding style in the td tags (td style=cellpadding:0px ...)
didn't work for me, and I did not look more forward to solve this problem,
guessing that the problem came from the management of the style sheets.
Do you think developers can have a look at it more closely? It could be
nice to give this ability in order to complete the creation of customized
forms.

2014-07-24 20:19 GMT+03:00 Knut Staring knu...@gmail.com:

 Thanks Kader,

I was thinking there would be a more elegant method than to insert a style
for each of the 24x20 cells, but your suggestion works well with a simple
search/replace of input in Notepad++ (no need for an HTML editor).

I would also love to get rid of the excessive padding to the left and
right of the input field in the cell.

And of course it would be nice to not have to manually insert the 240 data
bindings, so would very much welcome the realization of Lars' thoughts on
making the auto-generated form available as a starting point for the
 customization.

Hi Lars,
This is a great feature indeed. Just in case it would be considered not
obvious to implement, would it be possible to fill automatically a template
for the custom forms with style configuration infos provided in a
configuration form? This meets Knut's last suggestion and simplifies the
design process for most users.

For testing, it is VERY important that you either empty your browser

The problem is that, under my configuration, on the update user page,

 Hi Kader,

Olav is probably right; one would typically give everyone access to
the dashboard (but not necessarily analytic modules), which is usually
 the

 all
you need is one role that contains the authority to view the dashboard

Alternatively, make sure that the authority for dashboard access is

I read first this section before trying to add my users. In section 5, it
is said: Users must be assigned to at least one data capture and

The problem is that, under my configuration, on the update user page,

unit in this list, this action removes the bold formatting (and does not
change its color to orange). In Data output and analysis organisation

Are you having this under your configuration or is it an issue with my

For Data Capture, selected org units get bold (no orange)
For Data Output, select org units get orange.

For testing, it is VERY important that you either empty your browser

the org tree of the previous user.

different page from the login page.

I thought the password were mispelled but it is not as if it was this kind
of error. When trying to use the former password for example, the error
message that appears says: Wrong username or password in the _same_ login
page. It seems to be something dealing with access rights but I just
 changed the password and firstname/lastname.

I searched through the forum database but it didn't seem that this kind of
question has been asked before. Is there a way to reset the default admin
password and rights (through the shell for example) without having to
 reinstall DHIS2 ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

 Best regards
 Kader

Re: [Dhis2-users] No more able to access DHIS2 after changing admin password

2014-05-13 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Thank you Jason.

My table userrolemembers had no entry in it. Checking the userid from
users table and the Superuser id from userrole table, I inserted a new
entry for my admin user in the userrolemembers table and it wordked
_after_ rebooting. It was not a problem with the password but with the
user's role. I don't understand what caused the disappearance of the role
when I changed the default password.

Thanks again.

Best regards,
Kader

 Hi Kader,
Please check the archives here (
 https://lists.launchpad.net/dhis2-devs/msg25167.html) where I describe a
possible solution. This will only work if you still have the admin user,
otherwise, you will need to generate an encrypted password through some of
the methods described in the archives.

 Jason

 Dear Adedayo,

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried to access through a different

I'm searching through the postgres database where the role is being set

 being made.

 Dear Kader,

You might want to clear the cache of your Chrome browser or simple try
another browser first to test the authenticity of the access denied
message. You could actually try the Chrome incognito if you don't wanna
 clear your cache yet.

I get that usually when I change permissions of users.

 I hope this helps.

Re: [Dhis2-users] No more able to access DHIS2 after changing admin password

2014-05-13 Thread Kader Irchad Barry
Yes, I just updated the password (+ the firstname, lastname, and language
for the user) through the DHIS2 interface. I was just experiencing some
connection outages and might have clicked more than one time on the
validation button, if this can explain something. The select query on the
userrolemembers table returned 0 entry when I checked. I can send you the
catalina.out full log if you want to check what went wrong.

Kader

Yeah, that seems really weird. It should not be possible through the user
interface to do this. You mean there were no entries at all? The entire
table for userrolemembers was blank, or maybe you only had a single user
in this instance? I can see this happening if you mess directly with the
database, but in your case, you simply updated the password through the
 user interface?

 Jason
