Re: [Dx4win] DXCC
I suggest that you flag them with S (for submitted) in respective DXCC fields (Mixed, Band and Mode) as needed. Then it is easy to search for them and creat a list for submission. When they have been accepted you could change the DXCC flags by go to Reports|Award flags|Award DXCC mixed|Action Submitted -> Checked. You have to repeat this for Award DXCC band and Award DXCC mode. 73 de Mel SM0MPV Contest calls 8S0C SM3U Den fre 17 nov. 2023 kl 22:19 skrev Rich : > I mark the Cnfm (Confirmed) field in the record for each QSO with a "Y" > that automatically will update the DXCC list to "C" > > Rich > > On 11/17/2023 16:03 PM, Luciano de la Rosa wrote: > > Greetings to all. > > A question that I am not sure. > > Proximly, I want to send some QSL's to Card Checker and also validate > > through LOTW some credits. > > My question is, when I have done it, I must manually mark those credits, > > putting the "C" checking on the DXCC tab? > > > > Greetings to all. > > > > 73 de Luc > > __ > > DX4WIN mailing list > > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win > > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > > Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net > > > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > __ > DX4WIN mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] An extra state in WAS listing
Hi all and HNY When I was looking at my WAS listing I have got an extra state (3L) at the end of the report list. I have tried to search for it both by clicking on the C for the band in the list and searching (F8) for 3L in the state field, but neither gave an answer. I exported the whole log as a DXQ-file and tried to search it with a text editor without success. When I look at the summary report for WAS ít is summarized to 51 of 50 available. Does anyone have an idea of how to get rid of the 51st state in my WAS reports. 73 de Mel - SM0MPV __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] DX4Win ADIF Importing Question
Hi Eric, You just import the ADIF file into Jim's program ADIF to DX4WIN. In the program you could add the name in QSO Note field and if it is a contest with serial numbers you could tick Exchg/Serial box and the serial number you sent will turn up in the Notes for this QSO field in DX4WIN. If the contest is not within the list of supported contests and if the exchange is serial number you can use CQWPX contest instead. 73 de Mel SM0MPV / 8S0C Den fre 5 feb. 2021 kl 03:42 skrev Eric Rosenberg < ericrosenberg...@gmail.com>: > Mike, > > Thanks. Just comment; I have my log saved in Dropbox. I can open it direct from DX4WIN and as DX4WIN remember where the log file is it will always open it from Dropbox. Files are stored and backed up in Dropbox. Since Dropboxfiles are reachable from the computer when it is not connected to the net, it is always possible to use the logbook and then when connected it will be saved online. To be 'extra' sure I save the backup files to an external HD directly from DX4WIN. Hello Isidor A way to do it is to search for all contacts you have confirmed by LOTW. Press F8 and change LoTW Confirm to Y in the QSO window. Then you have selected all your QSOs confirmed by LOTW. Export them by clicking File|Import/Export and select DX4WIN9 in the Import/Export window. Click File|Export. Save the file as e.g. LoTW Exit Import/Export window by clicking File|Exit. Create a new logbook by clicking File|New and name it e.g. LoTW. Then import the file you just exported by clicking File|Import/Export and select DX4WIN9 in the Import/Export window. Click File|Import and select the file you just exported. Click open Now you have a new logbook with just your contacts confirmed in LoTW and you could create a DXCC report for them. -- 73 de Mel - SM0MPV 8S0C - Contest Call 2018-08-27 13:56 GMT+02:00 Isidro Acosta Hernández : > Hello all. [Dx4win] IC7600 and DX4WIN hopefully the last time
Hello again, I think I have solved the problem, however I do not understand why. The problem was> When I click on a spot in the band map or in the spot window the frequency changes accordingly in the band map and in the logging window but after 1-2 s the frequency change back to the one seen on the radio. The mode has changed both in the logging window and on the radio. However, if I change the frequency or the mode on the rig it changes in DX4WIN. Thus, it is only the communication of frequency from DX4WIN to the rig that does not work. Then I tested to use ICOM 756 Pro III as rig but changed the address from 6E to 7A, then everything worked nicely. I compared ICOm 756 Pro III and ICOM 7600 rig-files and one of the differences were the ADDR line stating 110 for ICOM 7560 Pro III and 122 for ICOM 7600. All other differences are listed at the very end of all other listings below. I changed the address to 110 in the ICOM 7600 and the default address changed to 6E in the radio setting window in DX4WIN. If running the program as this the connection between radio and program timed out and the connection was disabled. Then I changed the address manually to 7A in the radio setting window in DX4WIN. The result was a fully functional connection between DX4WIN and the rig. It seems like it was the presetting of ADDR=122 that made the problem. This commadnd dit set 7A as default address in DX4WIN, but something must have gone wrong. I write all this in the hope that those who know programming than me should be able to find a more proper solution. I have got two comments from peoples that have had the same problem; one who changed to another port to serial program and the other who used the earlier version of Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge, i.e. v. 6.6.0.0. As is it seems to work and I am happy with it. I have once again listed all equipment, settings and program versions below. -- 73 de Mel - SM0MPV 8S0C - Contest Call The Computer is A Dell Optiplex 980 Intel(R) Core(TM) i/ CPU 870 @ 2.93 GHz RAM 12.0 GB (3.43 GB usable) 32-bit Operating system Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 DX4WIN v. 9.0.0.4.1176 Rig: ICOM IC-7600 connected to the USB-B port on the back The latest firm ware installed I have the latest driver for the port: Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge v. 6.7.0.0 2014-03-19. Re: [Dx4win] Problem connecting a IC7600
Thanks for your suggestion Tibor. I think something that the problem is the IC-7600 RIG file. If I use ICOM 756 PRO III rig file and change the address to 7A Hex everything works except if I press PSK on the radio, then the mode in the log-window shows SSB. This is maybe how it should be if the PSK is generated via the sound card in the rig. I am not a programmer and can thus not compare the two RIG files. Below I have added all the tests I have done and once again all settings etc. 73 de Mel/SM0MPV When I click on a spot in the band map or in the spot window the frequency changes accordingly in the band map and in the logging window but after 1-2 s the frequency change back to the one seen on the radio. [Dx4win] Stil problems with my IC-7600
Hello again, I have the following problems: When I click on a spot either on the band plan or in the spot window. The callsign turns up in the Callsign field in the loging window. The frequency and the mode changes but the frequency goes back to the initial, i.e. the one on the radio had at start while the mode changes to the one the station I was clicking on had. Eg. if the radio is on 14040 and cw and I click on SM0XX on 14253 DX4WIN add SM0XX and SSB in respective field, the program also changes the frequency to 14253 but after 2-3 seconds it changes back to 14040. When it jump back the Follow radio box is ticked on the band map. The mode remains on SSB. If I turn the VFO dial on the rig the frequency changes accordingly in DX4WIN and remains on the frequency set. The same goes for changing mode on the rig, DX4WIN follows. I can run my TS-590 over an USB A-B connection. I have it set up as second radio and can start it within the program. So my question is , why is not the frequency added in DX4WIN. What setting have I missed? Here are my settings. Using Windows 7 Professional I use the Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART bridge I have the com port set to: Bits per second: 9600 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 Row control: None It is Windos 7 Professional I use The radio settings in DX4WIN are ICOM 7600 _K2DBK, i.e. ON4AOI except the filter. Re: [Dx4win] Problem connecting a IC7600
Thanks David, I have just tested your RIG file too and I got the same result as earlier. What I see is that when I click on a spot o the band map the program changes frequency bet then very soon goes back to the first one. The callsign for the spoted station remains in the QSO window. When I turn the dial on the radio the frequency changes in the band map and in the QSO window in DX4WIN. [Dx4win] Bug when importing from LOTW
Hello! If stations from Russia has added their oblast in LOTW, those from Moscow (MA) or Moscow region (MO) will in DX4WIN sometimes be added as MA zone 5 or MO zone 4, respectively. Thus it seems like if there is an abrevation that is the same as an US state it will be entered in the state field and the CQ zone of that state will be added, independent of country prefix. This has also true for one VK6 stations (WA) and and one BY4 stations (SD). I have attached a copy of a record from LOTW that afte import to DX4WIN turns up as: Perfix UA State MO Zone 4 It is not all imported records that have this effekt. Re: [Dx4win] Info request re import log
Hi Bob, The easiest answer is to export your current log as an ADIF file and import the ADIF file into DX4WIN. However, it is depending on how you would like your logbook in DX4WIN to work. If you are working from different QTHs or if you have different callsigns you may consider using the group feature as been suggested by Kostas in another thread above. Then you can combined all calls and QTHs for statistics, DXCC and other diplomas. I suggest that you start with a small portion of your log to see how it works and if the result is satifactory. 73 de Mel - SM0MPV 8S0C - Contest Call 2013/3/5 Robert Crawford bob...@eastlink.ca: Greetings... I just wanted to know out of curiosity more than anything else. The only ones I do know are 5H (new all-time from Colorado) and EL, which I knew I wouldn't work before the contest. I had already worked 7P and 5T earlier in the year, so I know those weren't it. - Jim -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN networking
Think about what you just wrote. OK I agree, it's a great idea if you never make mistakes. However, most of us do. DX4Win is an old design where networking was never considered. If networking is required there are plenty of loging programs that do this properly. I do occasionally operate from a second location. I just keep separate logs and merge. I was about to tell you the same thing. Can you be more specific as to your perceived problem... maybe we can help. Mel, VE2DCn4dsp n4...@triad.rr.com wrote:Thanks Rick! Certainly glad you brought this to my attention. 73 john On Thu, May 10, 2012 at 8:39 AM, n4dsp n4...@triad.rr.com wrote: Hello. This morning I received the file N4DSP LoTW ADI. What would be the correct process of replacing my current inaccurate log with this one? John, You really don't want to do that. LoTW doesn't keep much data from your log, so you'll lose a lot of information. LoTW stores Callsign, band (TX and RX), mode, date, start time, frequency (TX and RX), Satellite name, and propagation mode. Nothing else from the log is stored by LoTW, which means you can't get it back that way. You'll lose any notes you have for QSOs, none of the contacts will be marked as confirmed (except for those QSLed on LoTW), information on when you sent out QSLs, and so forth. All of the DXCC status will be lost (nothing will be marked as checked). This will take forever for you to fix if there's a large number of QSOs. And, I don't think this will help you in any case, as you'll end up with exactly the same problem you currently have: you'll be using the current country file to determine the entity for each contact in the new log, which should end up with the same set of bad mappings to entities. Unfortunately, I think you're going to have to find and fix the problems with your log some other way. 73, -Rick -- Rick Murphy, CISSP-ISSAP, K1MU/4, Annandale VA USA __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Credits received before the computerization of the ARRL DXCC program turns up as the entities prefix i.e. EP2AU worked in 1964 turns up as EP in the list. My suggestion is that if you have contacts from this time and do not know which one actually was used; choose one of the stations you have a QSL card from then you can change that QSO's DXCC award flags to match the DXCC credit shown on LoTW.as Jim suggest in his mail. It is not the actual callsign that is compared in Jim's very useful program. 73 de Mel - SM0MPV 8S0C - Contest Call 2012/4/10 Jim Reisert AD1C jjreis...@alum.mit.edu I'm sure a couple of you have read this application note: DXCC Award Tracking in DX4WIN http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/dxcc.html and maybe a few have tried this program Compare DX4WIN DXCC Credit Status with LoTW http://dx4win.ad1c.us/lotw/ Here's a tip about how to make DX4WIN match your ARRL DXCC records when you have been awarded DXCC credit, but DX4WIN does not have a record of such. Lot into your Logbook of the World (LoTW) account. Click on the Awards link at the top, then Select DXCC Award Account on the left. You will see a table showing the number of DXCC credits you have been awarded for each award. Notice that the Award names (i.e. CW or 40M) are hyperlinks. Click on one of those links. Next, you'll see another window with some choices. Next to View, select the radio button that says All credits. Then click on Select DXCC Award to View. You will get a listing with two columns -- Entity on the left and the DXCC award name you selected (i.e. 40M) on the right. The callsigns in the right-hand column are all hyperlinks. By clicking on a callsign, you will see the actual QSO data for which you received that DXCC credit, i.e. Palau. You can use this information to identify the matching QSO in DX4WIN, then you can change that QSO's DXCC award flags to match the DXCC credit shown on LoTW. (i.e. set DXCC Band flag to C[hecked]). Repeat for all all DXCC credits until you can run the Compare DX4WIN DXCC Credit Status with LoTW program with no errors. I don't know which QSO comes up for credits that your received before the computerization of the ARRL DXCC program. However, matching ANY confirmed QSO on the same band or mode will give you the same credit. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html -- 73 de Mel - SM0MPV 8S0C - Contest Call __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Current versions have a menu item under QSO to mark invalid for all awards... however, in some cases you can fix the QSO. Re: [Dx4win] Wish for next version of DX4Win
IMO it's never going to happen Ernie... You have to understand that DX4Win is designed primarily as an award chasing and tracking program. What you are complaining about is one of it's best features... for award tracking you generally only care about current information. One edit and it's all up to date! For those exceptional situations where you need info linked to a QSO instead of the callsign, you have the free-form Notes for this QSO. If what you want is a historical archive of all your contacts, then you should transfer your DX4Win QSO's to something better suited. A program like DXKeeper would be the ticket, and it's free. Re: [Dx4win] Wish for next version DX4Win
I believe Paul tried to implement the auto-login to a cluster last version but it didn't make the release due to some technical issues. Maybe next time. The trouble with auto login to LotW, automatic retrieval of data from QRZ (other than the paid subscription to the XML feed) and similar features is it generates a lot of maintenance headaches. I prefer DX4Win to be stable, and I think Paul is past the point he likes to tinker with DX4Win for the sake of tinkering. So I think we might see auto-login to the spotting networks, and we might see support for the QRZ com XML interface next major release... but I'm pretty skeptical about the rest. Pretty busy weekend planned, but I'll try and get on 10 for a couple of hours anyway. Should be interesting... Re: [Dx4win] Future Possibility?
My other logging program, Logic (Hosenose.com) does but I never used it. Automatically loading information can be prone to errors. On VHF, for example the same station may be worked in different grids. Also, the info on the site may be based on post office data, not the stations QTH. Not everybody keeps this data current on QRZ.COM. I would suspect some of the same issues might apply to counties. Re: [Dx4win] Serial to USB
I use the MicroHam Microkeyer which works great and forever solves CW timing problems. I have also used the FTDI chipset with Vista though not Windows 7. www.hosenose.com sells a USB interface he guarantees to work with his logging program... which means it will work with any. Re: [Dx4win] Hints for IC-781 ?
Some of the older Icoms won't work with the cheap CT-17 substitutes that are not using RS232 levels. If it's a CT-17 or anything using a MAX232 chip it should work fine. I used 9600 baud, 1 stop bit and a 1000ms polling rate with 4 retries for years. Don't try polling too fast, the older rigs can't keep up. How are you interfacing the 781 with your computer? (PC with genuing RS-232 port) N1MM works perfectly with same PC and cable to radio but not DX4WIN. Baud rates and address ( 26 ) are OK. Should the RTS and DTS be OFF or ON by default? With 300Bd it worked for a few moments but then nothing. Any ideas? Re: [Dx4win] Still have one problem I cant fix.
I think the issue I had was a corrupt report file. I just deleted dx4win.iep but that was at least one version back. On 2011-09-06 08:41, Gary E. The spots are not being checked against my log book to determine if I need the country or it is logged and of little interest.. In other words, it is not color coding the spots. I think related to this is a second problem that shows when I try to open the country window which should show the matrix of bands and countries worked, confirmed etc. That window fails to open and gives an error message that says: A exception occurred: Fixed column count must be less than column count. I have tried downloading a completely new version of the software and I have tried erasing virtually all of the saved files except my log and license and that does not cure the problem. I have also tried loading a backed up version of my log and that does not help, and I have tried starting a new log and that does not help either. This tells me that the log file is not corrupted, but that it is some parameter in the program itself that is corrupted, but not cured by a new download. Do any of you have any ideas on how to get this problem resolved? Re: [Dx4win] Still have one problem I cant fix.
I've encountered this error before but can't remember what the solution was. You might search the archive for the error message. In the meantime, if I remember I'll post. On 2011-09-06 08:41, Gary E. Re: [Dx4win] grayed out spot
It's because you have worked him before. Marking it as invalid doesn't change that. Either delete it since the contact didn't happen or change it to 9m2ax/NG and put a note for the QSO On 2011-09-03 13:08, Roger D Johnson wrote: In 2010 I worked 9M2AX on 160m and I asked Ross to bring my QSL to Dayton. Upon meeting him, he apologized and said that he only copied N1R of my call. When I got home, I modified that QSO to have I under the 3 choices in the QSO window for DXCC. This removed 9M2 from my worked country credits. Recently, Ross was spotted on 160 but the spot was grayed out! If I completely delete the contact the spot shows up normally. I've gone through every selection I can think of to no avail.
