[Audyssey] big favour from Nicol

2008-02-24 Thread Claudio
GHello all!
Today i have become the following message from nicol:
 Hello Claudio
I have a big favour to ask. The mods are really unfair.
I made a big mess. I said very bad things on list such as that I want to
threaten damion with the president. It was totally mad of me, I'm
 sorryabout
 it.
And I want the whole list to know that I am really sorry. I have a
 mailbox
on my cellphone which is also subscribed to the audyssey list, and so I
sent an apology message to the gamers list from my cellphone, thinking
 that
the mods only put my other address on moderated status since that is the
 one
I used when I flamed damion.
So damion wasn't aware at all that the apology message came from me, as
 he
couldn't recognize the display name which is my cell number.
I feel he and the rest of the list should be clearly aware that I admit I
was mad and I will never try to contact the president of the USA with such
 a
simple thing as a game and I forgot to put in the subject: from nicol.
I also now realize that damion has the right to sell his game, he worked
hard for it and there went in time and effort.
So what I want to ask you, since the mods doesn't approve my message to go
through to the list where I apologize, won't you please forward my
 message
 to the list?
This message I'm writing now is separate from the one I wish to send to
 the
 list.

Regards, Claudio.

Re: [Audyssey] STFC

2008-02-24 Thread Dakotah Rickard
Is the map going to be in three dimensions or on a two-d Grid?

Also, will there be a way to perhaps interface with one of your ships at
some crucial point, kind of like Fleet or Bridge Commander?

Hi Shaun,
Yeah, but you won't actually be commanding any one single ship. You will
be more like a fleet admiral. You will order new ships from the
shipyard, and then command them to certain sectors to patrol, defend, or
to enter an enemy sector of space for invasion.
Unlike in STFC current where you can basicly fight it out in Federation
space STFC 2 will force you to play more agressively. You will have to
cross into enemy held space to destroy shipyards, planetary defence
stations, research stations, etc. If you capture a mining colony you can
mine the planet for materials to build your ships and bases The more
planets you have the more you can tax and gather credits to buy better
ships and weapons.

I have heaps of sfx, and since we are not just doing trek here and its
only trek like I now have extra chunky sfx which may not be trek, eg
babilon5 sfx, etc.

Re: [Audyssey] Changing Sappy voice for playing games

2008-02-24 Thread dark
Greetings brian.

I'm afraid I have no idea why you might be getting runtime errors with
speech, but on jim kitchin's site http://www.kitchensinc.net/ there is a
program to fix errors with Sapi, which it might be worth trying.
you can also download the installer for the Mike and mary sapi voices, which
are both better than the default microsoft sam which your probably using now
in the spoonbill games.

Hth.

beware the Grue!

[Audyssey] Fw: I desperately need the entire list's forgiveness

2008-02-24 Thread Claudio
Hello all!
Today i have send the wrong mail from nicol to the list.
Also, i try it again and i hope, it will be the right.

Hello guys
I have extremely big remorse. I am so sorry I went on like a mad person.
I'm so sorry, that's not how ya all know me.
I'm so desperately afraid that my mad posts caused my reputation to drop
 as
a member of the gaming community. I'm so afraid nobody will ever like me
after my mad posts. But I can at least try to ask for forgiveness.
Yes raul, you were correct. I definitely don't have the president's
 number,
 I was totally mad.
I have a huge weak point which I really have to work on, if something at
 my
workplace stresses me I must not take it out on innoscent groups such as
this list and that's what I did. Yes, I was in the beginning disappointed
that damion charges for a turn based game but it was more stress at my
workplace that took control of me.
Please damion, don't be cross with me. The message I sent the list from
 my
cellphone is because I thought the mods only put the address on moderated
status from which I flamed you. Mods, as long as I'm not put on moderated
status forever that's fine. I understand putting me on moderated status is
 a
form of discipline, I see it in that light. I'm just so terribly afraid
 that
the gaming community doesn't like me anymore. I want to be accepted, I
 don't
wanted to be seen as a mad person, being avoided.
Please gaming community, forgive me. I was mad and I admit it.
Where will I ever do such a mad thing like phoning the president? You all
were right, the president will not listen to a blind person's gripe about
 a
 game.
But damion, now I fully understand it, its your game, you decide what to
charge for it and I respect it.and phil please forgive me for saying:
 nobody
wants to vote for your game because there is a lot of bugs in it.
The bug that the game restarts the whole time, is pretty annoying, as I
can't get any further, but I was too harsh.
So am I forgiven? and oh yeah, Thomas is also very disappointed in me,
Thomas am I forgiven? Mods, am I forgiven?
Look what mistake did andy made long long ago by cracking games and andy
 is
now seen as a valid member of the gaming community, what andy did long ago
is forgiven and forgotten. So if an x cracker can be forgiven, I'm sure I
can be forgiven for saying hurtfull things and harassing damion.
I'm 29 yeares old and I'm not a spoiled brat although it looked like it
through my posts, each game I own I paid for, by using my money for which
 I
 work very hard for.

Lol I'm horrible at topspeed. Because of my stupid dumb router I can't set up
any
kind of server, I tried it once and it didn't go too well...

It's a really cool game though, and I once made a car for it. That's off topic
for this
topic, so never mind.

Nope, but you can email me privately and I can set one up so we can play.
The servers don't actually stay up cause you need someone there to start
 the

 Hi Bryan,
Yeah, I am rather excited to see STFC 2 as well. Not only because STFC 1
is buggy, but I really like the new real time strategy elements STFC 2
 will provide.
For example, in STFC 1 if an enemy invasion force blows up a starbase
you can't rebuild it. In STFC 2 assuming you defeat or stop the
advancing enemy fleet you can construct a new starbase, and put patrol
ships around it to make sure that next time that boarder won't be
 crossed without a fight.
Another great thing about real time strategy is you don't have to
constantly monitor everywhere at once. You can place A.I. commanded
ships in a sector of space you want to maintain a constant patrol, and
you will get alerted when the fleet is in danger. They will either
handle it themselves or request backup which you will personally reasign
to reinforce the stationed fleet under attack.
Other cool ideas for a real time strategy game is save money by building
mine fields near a neutral zone so that any fleet that happens to wander
over the neutral zone will hit those mine fields and get destroyed or
 damaged.

[Audyssey] Moderator warning: Re: Fw: I desperately need the entire list's forgiveness

2008-02-24 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Everyone, please stop this thread. Nocol has been trying to post this
message on list for a few days now and we the moderators have told him
that we considered the matter closed. After all, Damion already answered
his initial apology e-mail. So, rehashing it further like this serves no
purpose. The fact that he had someone else on list forward the e-mail
which we have been denying clearly shows he's still not yet ready to be
unmoderated. Now, everyone, please take this off list.

Subject: [Audyssey] Fw: I desperately need the entire list's
 forgiveness

 Hello all!
Today i have send the wrong mail from nicol to the list.
Also, i try it again and i hope, it will be the right.
 Hello guys
I have extremely big remorse. I am so sorry I went on like a
 mad person.
I'm so sorry, that's not how ya all know me.
I'm so desperately afraid that my mad posts caused my reputation
 to drop
 as
a member of the gaming community. I'm so afraid nobody will
 ever like me
after my mad posts. But I can at least try to ask for
 forgiveness.
Yes raul, you were correct. I definitely don't have the
 president's
 number,
 I was totally mad.
I have a huge weak point which I really have to work on, if
 something at
 my
workplace stresses me I must not take it out on innoscent
 groups such as
this list and that's what I did. Yes, I was in the beginning
 disappointed
that damion charges for a turn based game but it was more
 stress at my
workplace that took control of me.
Please damion, don't be cross with me. The message I sent the
 list from
 my
cellphone is because I thought the mods only put the address on
 moderated
status from which I flamed you. Mods, as long as I'm not put
 on moderated
status forever that's fine. I understand putting me on
 moderated status is
 a
form of discipline, I see it in that light. I'm just so
 terribly afraid
 that
the gaming community doesn't like me anymore. I want to be
 accepted, I
 don't
wanted to be seen as a mad person, being avoided.
Please gaming community, forgive me. I was mad and I admit it.
Where will I ever do such a mad thing like phoning the
 president? You all
were right, the president will not listen to a blind person's
 gripe about
 a
 game.
But damion, now I fully understand it, its your game, you decide
 what to
charge for it and I respect it.and phil please forgive me for
 saying:
 nobody
wants to vote for your game because there is a lot of bugs in
 it.
The bug that the game restarts the whole time, is pretty
 annoying, as I
can't get any further, but I was too harsh.
So am I forgiven? and oh yeah, Thomas is also very disappointed
 in me,
Thomas am I forgiven? Mods, am I forgiven?
Look what mistake did andy made long long ago by cracking games
 and andy
 is
now seen as a valid member of the gaming community, what andy
 did long ago
is forgiven and forgotten. So if an x cracker can be forgiven,
 I'm sure I
can be forgiven for saying hurtfull things and harassing damion.
I'm 29 yeares old and I'm not a spoiled brat although it looked
 like it
through my posts, each game I own I paid for, by using my money
 for which
 I
 work very hard for.

Re: [Audyssey] Changing Sappy voice for playing games

2008-02-24 Thread shaun everiss
this runtime error has 2 parts.
part1 is to do with the ms speech recognition engine.
Reason is that sapi4 and 5 probably have issues with eachothers files although
this issue is betwene the speech rec engine and sapi.
This error can be left alone because its not a major issue.
If it is you can just reformat and not use any sapi4 synths at all.
the second error has a fix.
search the hard drive for a file called sapisvr.exe
run it.
then open the control panel speech then colose it.
Then open it again.
you will get the first error and then ok that, change the voice settings then
hit ok.
and everything sapi wise will work.

then closeAt 05:27 a.m. 25/02/2008, you wrote:

[Audyssey] Moderator warning: Re: big favour from Nicol

2008-02-24 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
You should have asked us, the moderators before forwarding such a
message. We have denied this message and Nocol has obviously chosen to
go behind our backs and get you to forward this despite us telling him
the matter was closed and who ever he needs forgiveness from, he should
do it privately. This type of message does not belong on the list,
especially because he has already posted an apology message and the
topic was closed.

So now, let's just all close this thread.

Claudio wrote:

[Audyssey] this post better help someone...my fingers hurt!Re: sega genesis accessible games

2008-02-24 Thread constantine (on laptop)
Oh my god. You just made my day by asking that question. Here goes my
fingers...type myself to sleep, heh!

The controller for the system
Your controller looks like this; its got a kinda dimple on the part facing
you in the middle. You have a wierd shaped skinny button on the top right;
that there is your start/pause button. Then you have your d-pad on the left,
of course- and your A, B, and C buttons on the right.

the system itself:
Early systems, known as genisus 1 systems, had a headphone jack and volume
control on it. It also had a wierd little switch to turn the system on that
I found to be a bit finicky. I have a hard time turning mine on, anyway! The
second system lacked the volume control and headphone jack, and its also a
lot smaller. But I stil love my v1 system due to the fact the sega cd can
mount directly underneeth it. More on that later.

the third system was sould by, uh, I can't remember. It was very slimmed
down- some games had a hard time running on it, and it didn't work at all
with any of the add on consoles, like the sega cd.

The add ons for the console

Well, the first genisus saw the add on of the sega cd; cd's were much more
cost efficient, and in its day the sega cd could play FMV (full motion
video) flawlessly. However that's not our main concern; my concern is the
fact the system could play cd quolity music! r! Also the voices were
amped up a bit; but at a steep 400 bucks, the system didn't see much
popularity. Now, however, along with the genisus, this system packs a pretty
mean punch- or at least, it does for me.

the first sega cd system was mounted directly under the genisus. It featured
a front loading drive, similar to those found on a cd rom drive of your
modern PC. The reset button on the genisus was its eject button, enabling
the front cd drive to pop out (way cool!)

The second one was a top loading system, similar to your boomb box. It sat
beside the genisus, however I find it a bit less sturdy than the first unit.

Compatibility:
Well, I think the first sega cd only works on the first genisus, which
sucks; but the second sega cd will work with the first genisus. I love both
these systems, and I own both models of each.

games

mortal kombat 3: While the menus don't speak, I just have to love that there
music, don't you? Also, the you win and fight speech is wa coool! I
love nightwolf- my favorite MK character of all time! Live long nightwolf!
Streets of rage: another of namcos (?) great games, streets of rage 1 and 2
spanned over the genisuses lifetime. They were great all around, with not to
bad sound effects, and I somewhat know what I'm doing on it. I used to be
able to get all the way to level 8 or so, but its been a while. Btw, its
really great on the console itself- emulators, I find, slow it down just a
tad.
another great game that I enjoyed was outrunners 2019. I don't know why. It
was, well, somewhat accessible- but not all that much. But, in terms of
accessibility, there are a lot of FAQS for the mortal kombat games that
helped me. Also for streets of rage, you'll know when you hit someone.

Also golden axe rocks. Not sure why- but its somewhat (keep in mind I keep
saying somewhat!) accessible. BUt once again, FAQS on gamefaqs.com should
help that. They helped for me.

Have a good day from Tyler C. Wood!

Re: [Audyssey] psp

2008-02-24 Thread constantine (on laptop)
I have hardly any experience with those. But I don't know how they could be,
you'd really have to know where and what you were doing; maybe with the
announcer talking, you could get a general idea. Not sure- the only one I've
tried was an NHL 92 for the genisus. I should try one for the nintendo 64.
You can get NFL blitz for like 2 bucks off goatstore.org (genisus is all
mine! haha, I think I've bought almost every genisus game from there)!

[Audyssey] writing articles on accessible games? Re: sega genesis accessible games

2008-02-24 Thread constantine (on laptop)
Hi,

I should add to that that if you want help with anything, talk to me on msn.
I'll be glad to help. Also. The nintendo 64 is more real accessible games-
MRC racing, sanfransisco rush, cruis'n USA, Cruis'n exotica, just to name a
few, not fully accessible mind you, but accessible enough to get some
enjoyment from. Give me an hour and you'll have the best article on rush 2:
extreme racing anyone's ever wanted- would that be possible to write for the
mag? I'd do it in a heartbeat, I know a lot about that game and so I could
probably give people hints and tipps on how to play it.

genesis accessible games

Oh my god. You just made my day by asking that question. Here goes my
 fingers...type myself to sleep, heh!

 The controller for the system
Your controller looks like this; its got a kinda dimple on the part facing
 you in the middle. You have a wierd shaped skinny button on the top right;
that there is your start/pause button. Then you have your d-pad on the
 left,
of course- and your A, B, and C buttons on the right.

 the system itself:
Early systems, known as genisus 1 systems, had a headphone jack and volume
control on it. It also had a wierd little switch to turn the system on
 that
I found to be a bit finicky.

However that's not our main concern; my concern is the
fact the system could play cd quolity music! r! Also the voices were
amped up a bit; but at a steep 400 bucks, the system didn't see much
popularity. Now, however, along with the genisus, this system packs a
 pretty
mean punch- or at least, it does for me.

the first sega cd system was mounted directly under the genisus. It
 featured
a front loading drive, similar to those found on a cd rom drive of your
modern PC. The reset button on the genisus was its eject button, enabling
the front cd drive to pop out (way cool!)

The second one was a top loading system, similar to your boomb box. It sat
beside the genisus, however I find it a bit less sturdy than the first
 unit.

 Compatibility:
Well, I think the first sega cd only works on the first genisus, which
sucks; but the second sega cd will work with the first genisus. I love
 both
these systems, and I own both models of each.

 games

mortal kombat 3: While the menus don't speak, I just have to love that
 there
music, don't you? Also, the you win and fight speech is wa coool!
 I
love nightwolf- my favorite MK character of all time! Live long nightwolf!
Streets of rage: another of namcos (?) great games, streets of rage 1 and
 2
spanned over the genisuses lifetime. They were great all around, with not
 to
bad sound effects, and I somewhat know what I'm doing on it.

Wood!

The Sega CD version of Silpheed was somewhat accesible as well. No talking
menus, but you heard sounds when you hit enemies and when they hit you.

Super Nintendo, Street Fighter all the way.

Re: [Audyssey] NASCAR

2008-02-24 Thread constantine (on laptop)
Hi,

I used to play nascar99 for the nintendo 64. Though it was hardly what I
could call accessible. Its worth checking out with an emulator,
though...though I'm not sure that's legal, as nascar is stil being made. But
I doubt nintendo would care- but anyway, the n64 can be gotten for around 35
bucks. That's pretty good price, and the console itself has some very
accessible games. Just while I'm on the subject:

Multi Championship racing
GT 64: championship addition
rush 2: extreme racing
sanfransisco rush
sanfransisco rush 2049
super smash brothers
mortal kombat 4
mortal kombat triligy
uh, what else? oh yeah, 1080 snowboarding
wave race 64, somewhat
cruis'n USA, somewhat
Cruis'n exotica, somewhat
Cruis'n World, somewhat again
uh hmmm, hmmm! I think I'm missing some. But its like 11 here. Gimmie a
break, heh. Oh yeah, a few others:
excitebike 64 on stunt mode is the bomb!
so is rush 2, but I think I said that already
I really do think I'm missing some, pokemon stadium and pokemon stadium 2,
just to name a few more- but give me about 10 minutes and I could give you a
full list that I know of. Ridge racer 64. I love the music, and I could
drift the first corner in novis, w...but that's about it. after that
things start getting a bit hard and I gave up. BUt the music is a good
reason to get it, for a cartridge based system, this thing pumped out the
tunes like a saturn or playstation!

Oh man. while I'm at it, hydro thunder rocked too. I could do the first
track using the midway boat. I finished first all the time. Btw keep in mind
I don't own a game shark and have never used one, as tempted as I was...heh.
Snowboard kids isn't half bad just to here tommy's oomph!. Nothing
like abusing some snow, or should I say, me abusing some kids. I know that
doesn't sound right, but some of those kids really do not sound like kids.
Linda sounds more like a 20 year old woman, while Tommy sounds like a real
11 year old kid who doesn't belong on a snowboard. Nancy sounds like she
could be 15 and Lash sounds like he could be, oh, perhaps 18. BUt all in all
that games not too accessible, which was a let down for me, but 1080
snowboarding was real cool on stunt mode, on the half pipe track. I really
enjoyed doing a billion tricks...I have to pick up that game. Oh yeah!
Killer instinct gold! I bet nobody can beat me! I beat difficult 3 times
last year, then sould the game (stupid me! smacks self on forehead)! It was
such a great game- and accessible too! Belive it or not that game was the
most enjoyable I've played in a while, that's saying something considering
the fact there have been enjoyable games a plenty here.

Well, hope that rant helped someone besides my fingers...

I have hardly any experience with those. But I don't know how they could
be,
you'd really have to know where and what you were doing; maybe with the
announcer talking, you could get a general idea. Not sure- the only one
 I've
tried was an NHL 92 for the genisus. I should try one for the nintendo 64.
You can get NFL blitz for like 2 bucks off goatstore.org (genisus is all

probably give people hints and tipps on how to play it.

2008-02-24 Thread constantine (on laptop)
Sonic was somewhat accessible, sonic 2 that is. I could get to the 4th
stage, but that was with a lot of errors and a lot of luck. I've tried
playing 1 or 2 hockey games, and I guess if you didn't want to accomplish
anything, just fight someone, nhl 92 isn't bad. I kicked some butt on there
(I think)? But not sure, maybe it was me. Anyway it was a good way to take
off some stress, on mortal kombat 3. I knew I was really kicking butt when I
heard that in between stages sound! Gotta love mortal kombat...and
nightwolf. He's my pet wolf, nobody elses. Me and him beat mortal kombat. I
wish I could meat him in real life. Hold that thought. He'd bbq me!

 sega

Oh my god. You just made my day by asking that question. Here goes my
 fingers...type myself to sleep, heh!

 The controller for the system
Your controller looks like this; its got a kinda dimple on the part
 facing
you in the middle. You have a wierd shaped skinny button on the top
 right;
that there is your start/pause button. Then you have your d-pad on the
 left,
of course- and your A, B, and C buttons on the right.

 the system itself:
Early systems, known as genisus 1 systems, had a headphone jack and
 volume
control on it. It also had a wierd little switch to turn the system on
 that
I found to be a bit finicky. I have a hard time turning mine on, anyway!
 The
second system lacked the volume control and headphone jack, and its also
 a
lot smaller.

Well, the first genisus saw the add on of the sega cd; cd's were much
 more
cost efficient, and in its day the sega cd could play FMV (full motion
video) flawlessly. However that's not our main concern; my concern is the
fact the system could play cd quolity music! r! Also the voices were
amped up a bit; but at a steep 400 bucks, the system didn't see much

It
 sat
beside the genisus, however I find it a bit less sturdy than the first

Live long
 nightwolf!
Streets of rage: another of namcos (?) great games, streets of rage 1 and
 2
spanned over the genisuses lifetime. They were great all around, with not
 to
bad sound effects, and I somewhat know what I'm doing on it. I used to be
able to get all the way to level 8 or so, but its been a while. Btw, its
really great on the console itself- emulators, I find, slow it down just
 a
 tad.
another great game that I enjoyed was outrunners 2019. I don't know why.
 It
was, well, somewhat accessible- but not all that much. But, in terms of
accessibility, there are a lot of FAQS for the mortal kombat games that
helped me. Also for streets of rage, you'll know when you hit someone.

Also golden axe rocks. Not sure why- but its somewhat (keep in mind I
 keep
saying somewhat!) accessible. BUt once again, FAQS on gamefaqs.com should
help that. They helped for me.

Have a good day from Tyler

[Audyssey] grand theft auto equivalent

2008-02-24 Thread william lomas
hello

Has any developer ever consider a spin off of grand theft auto?
i know this type of game is for eighteen plus or R rated, as you say
in the states, but surely we should break away from old style games
and go for something more modern. If we want more adventurous and in
the end, more adult oriented games as in GTA for the PS2 and other
consoles, ten i feel we have to break away from the games for everyone
section and maybe be more adventurous
If i could program, i'd start planning it out now to be honest, have a
game that's truely 3d. Maybe, thomas, you could license your engine or
use it to produce a game such as this in the future. You stated i
bleieve this engine will even let you drive vehicles etc?
will
