Re: [Audyssey] Help Naming a Wrestling Game
Hi Dark, Sure. I can understand that. That is why I am willing to take some suggestions and add things I think will improve the game for both casual and long time wrestling fans. However, unlike with MOTA though I am not going to attempt to try and please everyone and will use my own judgment on weather or not a suggestion will or won't work for the game I have in development. :D Regarding Piledriver I happen to agree with you. It was a little too generic at times, and there was no type of season mode where you could develop rivalries or feuds. You just picked two wrestlers out of the database and fought it out. I'll be the first to agree it was a bit boring, and lacked any surprises or sense of working your way up to a championship match. If you wanted Hulk Hogan to wrestle for the World Heavyweight Championship all you had to do was put him in a World Heavyweight Championship match without having to build his reputation or earn the number one contender status the hard way. That is, put simply, not very interesting or challenging. What I have in mind for my wrestling game is two separate modes. you can choose from. the first is practice matches or training mode where you can pick any two performers off the roster and have them wrestle. It is similar to the way Piledriver works now, and is primarily for training and testing purposes from a development standpoint. The second mode is a season mode. You will pick a performer off the roster you want to play, and it will generate a season schedule of matches for that performer. It works similar to Jim's NFL game where you pick a team and it creates a list of games for the entire season. the same principle applies here where you pick a wrestler and it schedules several matches and events for that performer he or she must win in order to face one of the raining champions. If he wins the game will generate a new schedule of potential number one contenders you must defend against. Cheers! On 3/4/13, dark d...@xgam.org wrote: Hi Tom. Hi tom. the season mode sounds just the sort of thing I was thinking of, and will of course give people like myself who aren't perhaps wrestling officionados something interesting to do purely as an in game challenge, winning wrestling titles and defending them against all comers, which actually sounds rather fun, particularly with the profile mode giving a bit more information about the people your facing so that even if there isn't! a story mode you can develope personal feelings and some degree of investment in the characters as characters. as far as suggestions go, well suggestion is the operative word hear as we've said before. Re: [Audyssey] advanced tips for Erncon?
I think that the gold fighters are what're really worth your money, as you get double coins. The Elite Light is good because of the infinite homing missiles, but you don't get as many asteroid shots with those, and the missiles have quite a short range. The heavy fighter fires really slowly, but it has ane normous spread and quite a range. Basically you hit with at least half your shots. The gold medium is good, as I said, because of its high rate of fire and good maneuverability. The elite medium and elite heavy are ... well, odd, because the medium has the slowest rate of fire in the entire game and the heavy is about as maneuverable as a shopping cart stuck in glue. Gold Fighters, as I said, do cost coins, but they are tremendously worth it. They do more than doubling your money, useful in and of itself. They have better defensive and offensive capabilities than their normal counterparts. Good luck with the podcast. First, hold the afterburner button down instead of pressing it. Your speed will increase markedly. You'll know you've reached maximum speed when the afterburner noise starts playing over and over again. Also, for some reason I still don't quite get, it seems like I can only move diagonally. When I move straight up, down, left and right, I don't get much change in audio. I'll ask my son. Really, what I need is to pay my daughter a couple bucks before I do the podcast and ask her some questions, another reason I want extensive feedback from you guys. There are boundaries your ship cannot cross, like walls. There are also asteroids. Sometimes, my ship actually gets stuck in an asteroid field, and I have to wiggle in all directions to get out. Once I had to use a tactical warp. The missions differ greatly. If you want the best scores and highest game money, play Fighter Battle. Freighter Raid is hard because ships are trying to escape--to get away from you. Destroyer attack is hard because they are all in one enormous fleet, and once you've found them they've probably scored so many hits that you die, respawning and having to hunt them down again. (Remembering where they were helps obviously, but I haven't scored much about 50 on this mission.) fleet battle and Destroyer Attack are essential missions to play for completing certain challenges, where you have to destroy a certain number of turrets. Just remember, hold down that afterburner button until you hear firing. At maximum speed, a firing ship can be in and out of hearing range very quickly, and even though the sounds are in 3d positioning it's hard to tell since the enemy ship's gun doesn't go through a lot of the sound spectrum. One last thing: listen for explosions. those are asteroids being destroyed, and inside most asteroids are gems--and there's a shooting ship nearby. I play with the music off, and am hoping for separate music volume control in the next version. It blocks too much of the others sounds out though, like the little snaps that indicate the picking up of gems, and so on. Wow, Tom, that sounds awesome! This isn't so much a suggestion as a question. Are you going to bother with tag teams? They still have tage teams, right? This is perhaps a suggestion, see what you think... What makes wrestling what it is is not just the matches themselves but the drama in between matches. So maybe, as an optional setting, one could select drama where between matches interesting events could happen that might or might not affect stats for a wrestler. I see it as a things like: player's wrestler gets attacked from behind in the back rooms! He thinks it was next wrestler to fight. As a result he is a little less coordinated. or During an interview, player wrestler got squirted in the eyes with burning hot coffee by next challenger, He is ok, but his rage has increased to new levels of extreme danger and of course... Players wrestler girlfriend/lucky trunks/manager/favorite truck got stolen, and now he is distracted throwing off his focus for the upcoming belt! It wouldn't be anything too major, just adding or subtracting or even just doing nothing but entertaining so that the feel of the wrestling shows I used to watch would be there . al The truth will set you free Jesus Christ of Nazareth 33A.D. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Hi, I'm new to Mudding, so please excuse my ignorance in the questions I am about to ask. I first started playing alter aeon, and really like the way that when things happen in the game, the client will voice what is going on in the output screen. Even if I step away from my key board, I can still hear others moving around and what not. I figure that is due to the soundpack that mush has installed for AlterAeon. When I manually typed in the address and port numbers needed for another mud called Marvel city of lights, there was not auto reading by mush per sae. I had to arrow up the screen to have my screen reader (window eyes) to read the output. plus, there wasn't really any way to interact with the game when it started. I tried typing help and nothing showed up on the screen or in the input or output buffer, or whatever you call it. First off, is this normal? Is the way AlterAeon acting due to the soudpack, thus other games will be silent unless I play search with the cursor? If I were to want the games other than alteraeon to act in analteraeon way, do I have to buld sound packs and what not like oriel gomez has? Second, are all games on the mud connector site blind friendly? I know that the programmers for alteraeon have gone, in my opinion, 200% out of the way to accomodate the blind in the game. I wish all product producers were to be so accomodating. Thanks Keith --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. [Audyssey] The inquisitor audio adventure problems
Hi, I have to admit I'm a little annoyed right now, because I spent my money for a game which doesn't work properly. I got the game for my iPhone 4. The description in the Appstore clearly states that it works with this iPhone, but I have quite a few problems with it. The first thing is, that the game keeps skipping sounds or words in dialogues. And this does not just happen once in a while, but every few seconds actually. Which makes it quite difficult to understand what is said, not to mention that it's just unnerving. The second thing is, that the game doesn't react right to my commands. When I for example drag my finger downwards to open the inventory, the game just announces an object in the room as if I just had tapped with one finger. And there are more errors of this kind. So, this message actually has two purposes. First, I wanted to ask if someone else also has played the game on an iPhone 4 and if they had the same problems. Second, I will send a similar message to the game developer if someone has his email adress for me, which I can't find for some reason. Thanks for reading and any help. Re: [Audyssey] Podcasts?
well a lot just use the generic drivers for sound which face it are crap. the primary feature of these is to previde over all sound. which they do. now your stereo mix is a feature of your card and will have to be set, however to get best performance from your card you need your drivers for your card. Prime example, I have an andriea electronics speech sa usb headset and mic hocked to the primary box which handles speech recognition via dragon. I can tell you now the standard driver did work but the contorls jumped and several other bad things happened. with the manufacturer drivers I downloaded later on the system worked so thats the way it is. On the other hand be thankfull that though crap and generic we had sound its not so long that you started with no sound and unless you had something like a piss poor quality plantronics headset which doesn't require anything or a cheap sound card like I do its no good no sound. I still use my bad set for systems which won't sound for whatever reason. some of those servers are easier to just plug usb ssound into them rather than requiring me to fiddle with their sound plugs in their racks especially if they have so many. Re: [Audyssey] Muds that are blind friendly using MUSH Z?
Almost every mud I have played is blind friendly, even if you have to do a little work on the mud side of things to make it so. Some are more accessible than others, but pretty much any mud can be made very playable if you know the correct settings and toggles on the mud itself. One thing I always do is either disable my prompt, or change it to a greater than sign and put the greater than sign in the jaws dictionary manager with it's pronunciation set to a space, so it just shows up as a blank line at the bottom. I then find other ways to check my HP and other important stats. I've found that about 99% of the muds I've played are accessible. The other 1% either use ascii maps as their primary method of navigation, or there is no way to turn off the prompt. By the way, that marvel game you were looking at, just so you know, that won't be anything like playing alter. It's developed using the MUSH codebase, which means there are usually no hard-coded mechanics, everything your character does has to be roleplayed in text and there's usually no experience to earn, stats to raise, etc. If that's your thing, cool, but I just figured I'd let you know in case the description didn't make it very clear. Muds I have found that are mostly blind friendly and fun to play are Unofficial Squaresoft Mud, Eternal Fantasy, Storm Hunters, New Moon, Asylum, Godwars2, Hell Moo or any of it's varients, Tsunami, 3 kingdoms, Aardwolf, Blood Dusk, Cleft of Dimension, Conquest, Dark Wizardry, DustMare, Haelrahv, and Project Bob. Note that these games varry in newbie friendliness and difficulty, they're just some of my favorites and some of the most playable. -- From: Keith ks.steinbac...@gmail.com Sent: Tuesday, March 05, 2013 12:32 AM To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Subject: [Audyssey] Muds that are blind friendly using MUSH Z? If I were to want the games other than alteraeon to act in analteraeon way, do I have to buld sound packs and what not like oriel gomez has? Second, are all games on the mud connector site blind friendly? I know that the programmers for alteraeon have gone, in my opinion, 200% out of the way to accomodate the blind in the game. I wish all product producers were to be so accomodating. Thanks Keith --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. [Audyssey] The Inquisitor info.
Hello, All. I have been reading the messages about The Inquisitor game, and I am give a small piece of detail about the game. If those of you who have played Chillingham, Grizzly Gulch, and Dungeon Master. Well The Inquisitor is set up the same way as these games are, not like King of dragon pass. The game is full audio and is menu base. Exsample the character you play as will say I am in the main hall, and you go through a menu to pick where you want to go. You also have a item menu aswell. So when people say that the game is like King of dragon pass I would have to disagree and say it is more of a Chillingham setup. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. If it is like Chillingham, then once you finish it for the first time, is there replay value to it? Is it a game that has random features? From your info, it sounds like a text adventure, but I would like to know more, in a clearly written manner, preferably proofread for errors so that it is easily understood, about the plot in general. --- Shepherds are the best beasts, but Labs are a close second. - Original Message - From: michael barnes c...@samobile.net To: gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Tuesday, March 05, 2013 6:11 PM Subject: [Audyssey] The Inquisitor info. Re: [Audyssey] The Inquisitor info.
I couldn't have put it better myself. It kills me how many people don't realize that Based has a D on the end and that As well is two words not one. And I'd have liked to see a description of the game on the app's page. It is indeed a shareware title, but there's no description, at least not when I visited the page wit my phone. I'm also wary since it seems to have problems on the 4S and that's what I have.
