[Gimp-user] gimp 2.8 export, after save as keeps old files name

2012-11-19 Thread realbezo
Hello again, i also do not want to see a prompt for a new exporting name, but i
expect from gimp exporting the "new" file ( which is created by "save as") with
the "new file" name, because i think a file should be exported with its file
name by default. I don't get why i would expect exporting a new file by defaul
with an old or different file name, could anyone please enlighten me?

[Gimp-user] text tool chanes text properties when i paste over old text content

2012-11-04 Thread realbezo
Thanks for the tip, at least i have that feature back with setting my gimp to
Single Window Mode from Windows menu. But it made my workspace area smaller, i
got used to work with floating window mode.
I don't know if it is a bug but it is annoying.
Is this the official forum of gimp and where can i report a bug or request
something about gimp, because the developer team do not seem to be around, or
they have so much work to do in their daily life...
Anyway, thanks for your help...

[Gimp-user] text tool chanes text properties when i paste over old text content

2012-11-01 Thread realbezo
Hi, i switched gimp 2.6 to 2.8 and new text tool behaves strangely, as i
remember in gimp 2.6 when i try to change text content with selecting old text
and pasting new text i could use same text size and same font with my old text
without doing anything but now in the gim 2.8 whenever i try to change content
of a text layer i need to choose again font and text size from toolbox options,
but why do i have to do this, i have a text placed on my image with a certain
font and certain font size and i just want to alter my text conten not the size
of text or font , it changes automatically to back text size and font whatever
i used last time in another work.

summary: i want to change my text content without setting my font and font size
properties, i want to use my text layers old properties, please give the
feature back...

[Gimp-user] gimp 2.8 export, after save as keeps old files name

2012-10-03 Thread realbezo
Hello, may be because of my english i cannot explain myself clearly ( it is not
my main language)
For example i create a new file "first_file.xcf" and then i make some changes,
save it and export it with ctrl+e as "first_file.png", then i make some more
changes and save my file as "second_file.xcf" and export it with ctrl+e, but
Gimp 2.8 does not export my file with the new filename "second_file.png",
instead of using new file name it uses the name "first_file.png" and
overwrites my file that i exported earlier.
Thanks in advance...

[Gimp-user] gimp 2.8 export, after save as keeps old files name

2012-10-03 Thread realbezo
I know that i can export it with different file name but i don't believe it is
simple and convenient, because while working it is hard to remember that gimp
2.8 has a strange feature for exporting and keeps old file name for exporting.
And people tend to use ctrl+e automatically, and it messes all the work which
is done...

[Gimp-user] gimp 2.8 text size problem

2012-10-03 Thread realbezo
Hello, i noticed that after duplicating a text layer when i try to change the
text content, the text layer changes the size of text to the size what is set
in the text tool...
For example, when the text size is 48 in the text tool dialog and i have a
text layer with text size 12 and i duplicate my layer and want to change the
text layers content, i select all text via ctrl+a and try to write a new text
but the text size changes to 48, and everytime i have to set it manually again.
Is this a normal behavior for text tool...

I think it is senseless to keep old file name for export after saving as your

Yes, this what i tried to ask. We create a new file with "save as" and it keeps
exporting with the old file name and overwrites file exported before, this
doesn't make sense to me.

[Gimp-user] gimp 2.8 export, after save as keeps old files name

2012-09-18 Thread realbezo
Hello, i have a question, when i open a new file and export it with ctrl+e, the
gimp 2.8 exports the file with the current file name as expected but after i
save (with save as) file with a new file name, ctrl+e exports the new file
with the old file name, and i think it has to be changed, because it is an
absolutely new file and it is senseless to keep the old file name for exporting
the new file...
Is this a bug or did developers do this feature intentionally?
