Re: [hlds] [TWI Serveradmins] Killing Floor 2 Beta Server Hosting Open For All

2015-04-17 Thread Anthony Duncan
It shouldn't be too much of a problem. It's not like it takes a while to
set them up either if there really is a big demand. Are there any tips on
how to query the server as neither HLSW or Steam seem to be updated to view
the server. I've added ?Port and ?QueryPort to the command line. The only
way I can see it's online is via the command and the web admin being active.

You sure all your ports are forwarded? My Steam shows my KF2 servers just fine
(as KFGameInfo_Survival) in the game column. And I don't know about HLSW,
but if you query it as RO2 it should work, at least that's the current way to
add KF2 servers to gametracker.

Seems after updating it, It worked. It's a dedicated server so I don't have
to worry about port forwarding to that degree. The app was whitelisted at
the time. Anyway it works. Also it does work in HLSW but you have to use
Query Port to find it just like in Steam.

You can now also make that change in the command line for the launch.
The wiki article has been updated to reflect that (along with a new beta

I have capacity for lots of stable servers, but right now (same as KF1) it's a

2015-04-16 Thread Lane Eckley
Something doesn't add up as we aren't seeing CPU usage anywhere near that high.

I double-checked a full server (6 players) running on an E3-1245 V2 and its
using on average 1.2% CPU 740MB of RAM. Looking over the CPU graphs I am
seeing a peak of no more than 3%.

If you are seeing upwards of 12% on an E3-1270 V3 I am guessing either
something is misconfigured or you are running your servers widely different
from ours (which I rather doubt there is too much different).

Re: [hlds] [TWI Serveradmins] Killing Floor 2 Beta Server Hosting Open For All

2015-04-16 Thread Lane Eckley
It defaults to 27015 when you have the server running on the default game port.
The ports also appear to increment together, if you increase the game port by 5
the query port increases by 5.

You can also set the query port in the engine config, will post it up when I
get back to the office as you have to add the line manually.

Re: [hlds] [TWI Serveradmins] Killing Floor 2 Beta Server Hosting Open For All

2015-04-16 Thread John
Yes, Lane, your numbers seem to be overall CPU usage for the machine.
Since you have an E3-1245v2, you should multiply by 4 or 8 (depending on
if you have HT enabled) to get the normalized (one-CPU-equivalent)
usage, which is a more useful number that you can apply to other
hardware configurations.

I double-checked a full server (6 players) running on an E3-1245 V2
and its using on average 1.2% CPU 740MB of RAM. Looking over the
CPU graphs I am seeing a peak of no more than 3%.

If you are seeing upwards of 12% on an E3-1270 V3 I am guessing
either something is misconfigured or you are running your servers
widely different from ours (which I rather doubt there is too much
different).

Normalized usage on an otherwise empty bare-metal E3-1270v3 (a much
faster processor) is around 12% for a full server at peak.

The memory usage for this game is currently more of a limiting
factor than CPU. Both have already improved significantly in the beta.

On E3-1240 V2/V3 we are seeing less than half that, closer to 4%

It does work using anonymous. The beta players want to know when you are
shutting it off on the 16th at midnight ? Plus a lot of the players have
requested the servers to set to longer waves as KF1 players they think its a
bit easy. You can adjust the settings using the webpanel.
