Tom Vijlbrief made a fork of dcraw which he called dcrawps, which handled PS files from early Pentax cameras, and with Tom's help I extended dcrawps to include the PS files from later Pentax cameras. I suspect it wouldn't be difficult to include PS files from other cameras, provided they were 4 shots i.e. one image for each of the bayer pattern pixels. One of the nice things about using dcrawps is that you can extract any or all of the images, and it can make correction for any movement detected, along with all the neat things dcraw does. Not the answer to your question but depending on whether you can use the software provided and whether it does all the things you need it do, you might think about dcrawps, maybe have a word with Tom (tvijlbrief at google mail). I pulled exiv2 from the repository, which git described (git describe --tags) as version 'nightly-34-g573c3c79'. I set the version in the rpmbuild spec file as '0.27.99.0' following previous practice by others, and attempted to build, but rpmbuild failed with a message to the effect (I didn't record the exact detail) that rpmbuild detected that the version was '1.0.0.9'. Setting the rpmbuild version to '1.0.0.9' built without error. Unfortunately I can't install this version of exiv2 as it causes conflicts with a couple of programs that were built with the current version (0.27) of exiv2. The suggested alternate solution of -DENABLE_METADATA_TRANSFER=OFF looks the only answer at the moment. Hello Bruno, On Thu, 2021-04-01 at 23:51 +0100, Bruno Postle wrote: > Has _anyone_ tested this? I'll assume that no reports of problems > indicates that everything is fine. No, not tested here. For some reason I'd missed this, I'd normally at least test that I can build a Fedora rpm. I've just had a try at building the current default, but it doesn't work. I probably don't do this stuff often enough any more and have lost track of how to do things 🙂 The last time I built libpano13 was for my update to Fedora 33 and that produced the source package libpano13-2.9.20.tar.xz, this time I ended up with libpano13- 2.9.20-851-Linux.tar.gz and the rpmbuild spec file baulks at not finding libpano13-2.9.20: No such file or directory. I'm sure it's nothing to do with the source, just me not going about the right way. What I did was as follows: Update the repo. In my libpano repo, rm -rf BUILD, mkdir BUILD, cd BUILD, cmake .. make package which generated the libpano13-2.9.20-851-Linux.tar.gz package. I've obviously lost track of the process to build the source package for the rpmbuild. I'll see if I can sort that out and hopefully get a good build and test. Probably best not to wait too long for me, hopefully others will do some testing for you. Hello kfj, On Sun, 21 Jul 2019 03:10:13 +1000, 'kfj' via hugin and other free panoramic software wrote: [snip] I checked some more, and came to the conclusion that the 'shebang line' ,' #! /usr/bin/env python' in the plugins is irrelevant when they are launched as plugins by hugin. Hugin, with the python interface linked in, *is* a python interpreter, and it's either python2 or python3, depending on what cmake figures out for it. The shebang, is only relevant when the plugin is executed as a stand-alone script: Some of the plugins (like woa.py) are programs in their own right, and the #! /usr/bin/env python tells the shell to launch 'python' to interpret the script. So no matter what the shebang is, when used as plugins from hugin, the shebang has no effect. There is no need to make any change to the plugin code. I think forcing the linking-in of a python3 interpreter should be handled by cmake. On my system, for example (I mistyped, I'm on ubuntu 18.04 LTS), when I build hugin as per instructions in the wiki, it comes out a python2 interpreter. There's docu I found here https://cmake.org/cmake/help/git-stage/module/FindPython3.html Does that help? I don't think I can make any useful comment on the above. I needed to overcome a build a problem to enable testing of other code changes, and simply implemented a suggestion that was provided and then provided the resulting patch. I would only add that you should probably just get on and test your ideas and when satisfied propose a patch. I'm not sure who does the build and packaging for OSX or whether there have been any known problems with that dmg. Have you tried, for example, checking from the command line, 'cpfind -h' ? Another possible check is to have a look inside the dmg (assuming that can be done), to see if any of those tools are present and where they are being installed. I'm not sure I can be much more help, hopefully someone who uses OSX may be of more help. [hugin-ptx] Packaging issue with hugin's new icons
Hello All, Having just built the default branch of hugin (8050:ec80a99c82c9), I find that the icons are not showing up in the Main Cinnamon Menu, so I assume that my package build has installed the icons in the wrong place. I am running Fedora 29 using Cinnamon. Using rpmbuild I have packaged the icons as follows: %{_datadir}/icons/48x48/apps/*.png %{_datadir}/icons/128x128/apps/*.png %{_datadir}/icons/256x256/apps/*.png %{_datadir}/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/*.svg where {_datadir} translates into /usr/share. Anyone familiar with Fedora/Cinnamon have any advice as to where I should be installing these icons? OK, that's what I thought was the case, but when one has problems it's worth checking. I setup a new clone of the libpano13 repo, built a new package_source, then ran rpmbuild with your .spec file, and encountered the same issues. Libs being looked for in /usr/lib64 but rpmbuild had put them in /usr/local/lib and failure to find debug files, and as previously it builds OK with the changes to the .spec file I previously mentioned. It does seem to point to something amiss with my rpmbuild...not sure where to start there. Then edit each subproject, remove the images that don't belong in it, then save and stitch each subproject. Then create a new "main" project to stitch together the results of the sub projects. Is that what you mean? To stitch all the sub-panos, I just load them all as a new project and proceed as one normally would. Yes, and yes. I can try to help, and I suspect others will also offer. What we need is some clear description of your problem. If that is difficult, then the best approach would be to provide some of your images so we can try a stitch and see what these problems are. I suggest three overlapping images would be sufficient, and if they are large images it would be advisable to make them available via Dropbox or similar service which doesn't require the recipient to be a registered member of the service. In addition, could you please describe your imaging process in more detail? For example, how much overlap between images? How close is the camera to the map, what type of lens (rectilinear or fisheye) and focal length? Is the map perfectly flat or does it have small creases at fold lines? ...and, which version of hugin? Re: [hugin-ptx] Aerial images stitching
Hello Jonathon, On Tue, 04 Oct 2016 11:10:37 +1100, Jonathan wrote: Hello, we have a set of aerial images captured by an UAV, and we would like to stitch them together to have an aerial map, we have tried using hugin but the generated stitches tend to be distorted, our images are taken at the same altitude, have an overlap of ~70% and have gps information regarding the photo location (latitude and longitude), among with altitude and camera info, is there a way to make hugin use the position data to align the images so we can have more accurate stitches? please take in mind that we want to be able to do this through the command line in the future. Your UAV is flying at constant altitude, but is the ground surface planar, i.e. flat? You are essentially collecting images to stitch in mosaic mode, in which case the surface should ideally be planar, but that does depend on the altitude and the variation in elevation of the surface. If the variation in elevation is small and altitude is large, stitching in mosaic mode should give a reasonable result. Others who frequent this forum have done quite a bit of work in perfecting methods of stitching shots of large maps which are not exactly flat due to creases from folds. Some of the experience with that may be applicable, not sure. A tutorial on hugin's mosaic mode is here <http://hugin.sourceforge.net/tutorials/Mosaic-mode/en.shtml> if that is of any help to you. An alternate approach is to use a GIS, such as GRASS, which has features specifically for your work.
