Hi everyone!

i have never thought about that before :-/ First of all, i suppose it is
correct that an unfinished translation might be a nuisance to some 
users.
On the other hand, it might be a motivation to some users to engage 
themselves
as a translator. Fixing the german translation was also my first task 
with Hydrogen :)
Considering both arguments, i don't have a strong opinion on this 
topic..

Please, note that I had to make some changes on the html tags.
As an example with the opening bold HTML tag, we had:

and I made those to become:

HTML tag. I've looked at the French translation for comparison
where it is the same.

I'd advice you to look after the next 1.0.0-beta2 where your updated
translation will be a part of, and then you'll be able to check and
refine everything before the final 1.0.0 .

Ok, I'll make sure the tags are Ok in future, but it looks like
something that must have been there for a while - I have OmegaT set
to not allow tag editing, which means all tags get left as they are
in the source file.

I checked the source file and the tags were also missing those
chunks, so this probably happened some time in the past (chances are
I did it somewhere along the line...).

Please, keep the -dev mailing list copied to your email, which is

Hi Barry, and thanks for your proposition.

You probably saw my previous message 10 minutes ago to Daryl, who is 
currently translating Hydrogen into Spanish. We are trying to correct 
some "processing/computer stuff". When that we'll be done, I'd suggest 
you to talk with Daryl as he might be happy to have someone doing a 
check of what he has been translating. Even a complete check of the 
whole translation might be useful.


Please talk with Daryl about how to organise together the 2 of you.

I've processed it on a local computer, and it gave me:

which sounded kind of weird to me...

Specially because your file is weighting ~132k while the 
current-one-in-the-master-repo is ~124k... even weirder...


Then I've had a look to the 2 files in a text editor and I think I found 
out why. Example :


current-one-in-the-master-repo (line 344):

(%1/%2 KiB) - ETA %3




the one in your file (line 344 too):

DownloadWidget

(%1/%2 KiB) - ETA %3
(%1/%2 KiB) - ETA 
%3




We can see here that currently, it *is not* translated but is non-marked 
as "unfinished" which then is counting as a "translated" string.
In you file, is *is* translated but is marked as "unfinished" which is 
counting as a non-translated file.

This is really upside-down.

I've looked through the files and it does look to be the case for a 
bunch of strings.



My suggestion for now is as follow: I don't know which software you use 
to translate (I'm personally a simple text editor named "pluma", which 
is a part of the MATE desktop environment), but I would suggest either:
1) use whatever usual software you're using to translate, check all the 
"unfinished" labeled strings, remove those when relevant, save the file, 
send it back to the mailing list
2) use a simple text editor, search for "untranslated", check the 
type="unfinished" labeled strings, remove those when relevant, save the 
file, send it back to the mailing list


Does that sounds a good plan for you? Since I don't know what are your 
computer-skills, I hope what I'm saying isn't too much confuse for 
you.If it'd be the case, my apologize, tell me so and I'll strive to 
find an easier way for doing things.

useful for non-English speaker : cs, ca, nl, pl, hr, el.

If you possibly are a translator but you don't know how to do so, do not 
hesitate to ask me and I'll be happt to help you to get started with the 
translation workflow.

Hi,

Thats known issue, unfortunately. LCD widget doesn’t support anything but ASCII 
characters, and it affects other translations as well (eg. Polish). That means 
the only way to fix it is to replace that widget with something else.
