Re: [JAWS-Users] supported synthesizers?
Hello Howard and David, I also have a Vert prose 4000 speech card, also in a shelf, as it's too wide to fit in the relevant card slots of any pc I could find to purchase for the past ten years or more. I was still able to use the card with an old version of openbook, version 2 E, under windows 3.1 and probably up to windows 98, as openbook could use that card to produce the dectalk voices, but that was still in an older pc. If you have a regular dectalk express, you may be able to utilize those voices through that, however, not the Vert Prose 4000 card's internal attractive voice, though. Re: [JAWS-Users] supported synthesizers?
Hello Listers, Further to my previous message, there was a version of jaws available for dos. I've never used it, but if you could find a pc in which the relevant speech card could fit, you could perhaps try it out. I think it's still on fs's site. And I don't think it was a paid version. I don't have an idea what version it was and it would probably not have been updated. Re: [JAWS-Users] supported synthesizers?
I have a DEC talk express that I got in early 1995 that works on this system after a firm ware update several years ago but that's about the only architecture from those days that still works today. The old Vert board unfortunately resides on a shelf since I no longer own a 386 to put it in. Even a DEC talk PC card will not work in today's systems because the card slots are very different. Re: [JAWS-Users] block list folder
Hi Estelita, it isn't a folder as such. You go to the blocked senders list by: Tools, Message rules, Blocked senders - from the message list: alt-t, r, s. You will then see your list of blocked senders. To unblock a sender, highlight the sender, press tab until the Remove button is highlighted, and then press enter. Hello Estelita, If you are using Windows Mail then when in the list of messages press Alt+T to bring up the tools menu. Press the letter J to open the Junk Email options. Use CTRL+Tab twice to move to the block sender's page tab. use tab key to the list of senders currently being blocked. When you first tab to the list no item in the list will be selected so you will only have an add button that you can tab to besides the usual OK and cancel buttons. However, once you select a name you can use tab key and you will find an edit button and a delete button. Take care. [JAWS-Users] Attention Flor, Thank you, Jaws problem 2010
Hi Flor, I wrote you about Jaws 10 freezing when I tried to update it. You suggested that I try to install the latest version of Jaws directly from the web site. Once again, my laptop froze after it was restarted. All Jaws would say when i used a say line was, cancel. Before I turned off the computer, I had my son read what was on the screen. He read a message, Windows cannot reccognize/varify some drivers. Do you want to install anyway? I had him click and the install went perfectly. Thanks a lot. You know, I'm kind of mixed up what exactly email client I am using! Because when I am in my mail program, jumping from folder to folder, JAWS says, outlook Express message, or Windows Mail message while revealing what's on that folder. Any idea why is it like that? Thanks again, with best regards, Estelita - Original Message - From: Brian Lee brianl...@charter.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Monday, August 31, 2009 10:33 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] block list folder Hello Estelita, If you are using Windows Mail then when in the list of messages press Alt+T to bring up the tools menu. Take care. While in Outlook Express, 1. Alt + T, for tools 2. R, for message rules. 3. S, for the blocked senders list. Once you are in this dialogue, you will have a list of blocked senders. From the list, choose the one you want, and then tab to the remove button, and okay your way out of the dialogue.
