Re: [JAWS-Users] Amazon.com
I've used the Amazon returns page, and as usual, don't find any problems with the controls, etc. Given that there are so many iterations of JAWS version, operating systems, video card/drivers, IE versions, and user settings, it's no wonder that we users often have drastically different experiences with the same web site. Gene, I hope I never have your experience with Amazon.com. For whatever reason, I find the standard site completely accessible, and don't plan to use any other version. I'm using IE11 and don't have your experience with unlabeled buttons. Don't know what to suggest, but hope you can ultimately find a solution. Re: [JAWS-Users] Gaining access to the Action Center
Unfortunately, unless it was added in Windows 10, there is no keyboard shortcut to get to the action center. The most likely reason you can't access the action center icon is because system tray icons get hidden from view if they are inactive for a period of time. For sighted users there is a button immediately to the left of the system tray which will temporarily display all the icons in the system tray. You can get to it by pressing Windows + B to place the focus on the task bar, then tab to the elevated or user promoted system tray icons button, but be warned, access to the button is erratic at best. To get around this go to the control panel, then to the notification area icons applet. tab around until you find the Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar check box and check it, then find the OK button and press enter. Now all system tray icons will always be available to you through JAWS. hth Cheers! On 1/8/2017 1:19 PM, jyandt.mar...@comcast.net wrote: To All: I was needing to know something. Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading an email address
Mike, you got me to check my notes. You can view the Windows clipboard by using the JAWS key combination JAWS key+spacebar, release, then c. Arrow down to see what's copied there. Escape to close. (I just confirmed.) If we're not careful, we'll start bringing the Office clipboard into this discussion, which you reach with alt-h, followed by f, followed by o, then F6 to view. You can copy only one item at a time to the Windows clipboard. The Office clipboard can handle more than one item. But the clipboard Miriam needs is for Windows, not Office. Again, I'm using Windows 7. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Mike B. Once text is selected, use control + c to copy to the clipboard, and control + v to paste the contents of the clipboard into another document. For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading an email address
Miriam, Just press control-alt-v to paste. The text Mike suggests you copy goes to the clipboard. The way to get text from the clipboard is to press control-alt-v. There's another way to read the person's address that doesn't involve copying and pasting. Set up a reply to the message with control-r, then arrow down. The "From" line will display the address in a form JAWS can navigate letter by letter. Be sure not to send the reply unless you mean to! -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Miriam Vieni Sent: Sunday, January 08, 2017 10:12 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading an email address Thank you so much. Subject: [JAWS-Users] program to get song information and write metadata? Hi all, Looking for a program that works well with Jaws. I have a number of songs that have incorrect tag information so are identified incorrectly by iTunes and therefore my iPhone. Does anyone know of a program where I can get the correct tag information for these songs? I've tried mp3 tag but it doesn't get correct information. -- Adam Morris Jaws certified 2016 email: a...@damorris.com For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
