Last week there was a good discussion on this topic. I tested the various
settings and configurations suggested.
Now, somehow I have the default set to have the JAWS cursor follow the PC
cursor. I have to remember to undo this each time I turn the computer on or
the alt tab does not work properly cycling through all my currently open
programs. How do I get this setting back to a default of the JAWS cursor
will not follow the PC cursor.

Thanks,

Jaws key + minus on the number pad works to move the Jaws cursor to the Pc
cursor, or to the virtual pc cursor, it depends on where are you working. If
you are working on a regular application, then the jaws cursor will be move
to the Pc cursor if you are on html document, then the jaws cursor will be
move to the virtual pc cursor.

Hi all, I tried this command of ctrl + JAWS key + num pad minus in IE, but
the JAWS doesn't follow the Virtual curser like it does the regular PC
curser. I tried in a number of places and it works in Word, and lists of
files. If you press it twice, it will stay active until you change it. I
don't think this will work for us on HTML pages though. I can't wait to
hear from others about this Take ccare all.

Hi,
Hence you are running J 15,all you have to do in order to continue using J

It's a good thing that FS has brought the price down by making the home

only difference is that the home edition will have not for official use

Hi,
With Jaws 15 you don't need any script. Jaws 15 works well with the latest
Skype. Set your view to default then use Alt plus 1 to view the list of
contacts; Alt plus 2 to view list of messages; while in the conversation
view, control plus 1 will read the latest message control plus 2 will read
the next and so on.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Bug with latest JFW 15 with Outlook folders

As a follow up, I was on the phone with FS escalation tech support on Friday
and was able to reproduce the same issue I was having with the number of
unread messages not being spoken by Jaws after a while. We tried everything
from resetting Outlook to its defaults and repairing JFW. I even got visual
confirmation from my wife that the number of unread messages was still
appearing on the screen. Nothing worked. The only work around that could be
used was making use of the control+y command. In any event, while they took
note of the problem, they mentioned that if it was only being experienced by
only a handful of folks, then iti may not get the priority to be addressed
right away.
Especially if they couldn't reproduce it on their end.
I would ask (recommended by FS) that others who are also dealing with this
problem also contact them to see if it's a larger issue than just something
that's happening on one or two machines. The incident number I was provided
with was 228648 Earlier today I tried a system restore to a time before the
update and lo-and-behold, it worked. Jaws is and has been announcing the
number of unread emails in folders without having to use the ctl+y command
which I found to be an unnecessary step.
I think for now, I'll leave well enough alone and stick to the earlier
version of Jaws 15 since this particular bug is rather big in my case.
Hopefully others can provide FS with feedback if they come across it so that
it can be addressed in the future.
The specs on my set up if anyone wants to compare are JFW 15 Pro, Outlook
2010, Windows 7 Premium 64 bit.

Hi team,
This is srinivas from Bangalore India. I am new to the list and this is

I need your suggestions/guidence to overcome from the challenge with JAWS.

Friends, I recently Joined IBM India. There my profile is to assign the
insidents/tickets to the resolver groups from the tool called Rimidy.
For that, I need to open the another tool called Cytrix. from there I have
to open Rimidy. Apart from that, there is no another way.
My challenge is, Jaws is userly friendly till I open Cytrix. If I click
Rimidy from there, Jaws is not saying anything. Not even time, title etc.
But it will say log on frame. After I enter user name and password, it will
say starting rimidy. Thats it. after that, If I navigate with arrow keys or
tab key it will not say anything.

If I restart the Jaws and press insert f1 twice, it will say help topic is
not available.
I am not aware how to overcome from this challenge.

Friends, I need your suggestions/guidence in this regard as earliest as I
need to submit the report to my manager regarding the accessibility.

So friends, Kindly help me in this regard as soon as possible.

Call me if you have any clarifications.

With best regards,
Srinivas MVLES.

Hi Elf,
When I go to Google, I go to the top of the page, and arrow down to the
first link which is:
screen-reader users click here to turn off Google Instant hit enter, and
then go on my merry way.
I always hit the H 3 times to get to the search results, and have no problem
with that even with Jaws 6.2 and IE 8.

from there

Sounds like you are having a similar problem I've had. I'll be reading down
a page then it stops and when I try to move through the page, it says blank
blank blank. Doesn't matter what you do, it doesn't fix itself. I usually
end up restarting the browser, then if that doesn't fix it, quit and restart
jaws.

2012-12-08 Thread Godwin Adoyi
I read on this list that to solve this issue, one should update outlook 2010
via the check for updates in the file menu. I did so and installed all the
available updates, yet the Current Version is :14.0.4734.1000. I'm made to
understand that after the updates, the Expected version should be
:14.0.6117.5001 , but the version remained unchanged, and the issue
persists. Still trying though, but don't really know what to do!

will not escalate it. At random times, outlook 2010 will stop responding.
When this happends, jaws stops speeking and will not allow me to do

system to get it Jaws working right. Has anyone had this issue?

Thanks,

JAWS 14 introduces the feature to be able to virtual mail in Outlook 2010

without having to open it in a browser. This is something we have been
working on for almost a year now.

Hi all

Before reporting this on the bug fix page, I'm wondering whether anyone else
has this problem.

Even with the update, Jaws 14 beta is still crashing on some messages in
outlook 2010. This seems to happen in the type of message where you can use
alt-h, v and a to read the message in internet explorer for example in
notices from facebook.

The crash is so bad that you have to switch off the computer manually and
restart again.

Just wondering if someone else is having this problem?

Andre

In the section for your phone, press the apps button then tab over a ways
there should be a list of apps and check boxes next to them, uncheck
anything you do not want on the phone. If you want the app completely gone
go to the apps line in I tunes tab once all your apps will show up, press
delete on the one that you wish never to put back on your phone, one that
did not work for you for example, say yes to the questions and it is
permanently gone.

In ITunes, under library, select apps and tab and you will see a list of
your apps. Delete the one you don't want.

hi,

actually it does work, or sorry, will work once you turn the indacator for
it on so it can display!

there is a zipped up folder of helpful hints for windows 7 available on my
grab bag website, and in it the files that will assist you start with
(suprise!) the words system tray and they will tell you how to turn on any
most or all of the things that used to pop up in the system tray.

along with lots of other things!

take care,

 Hi all,

I am running JAWS V. 13 under Windows 7. I would greatly appreciate if
someone could tell me whether there exists a JAWS keystroke to safely
remove my USB thumb drive. Under Windows XP, one could go into the
system tray via insert plus F-12 to get to the safely remove button.
However, this does not work in Windows 7. Thanks for any help.

Post Office Protocol (POP3) has a much simpler interface with your email
server on the web than Interactive Mail Access Access Protocol (IMAP).
POP3 just retreives everything in your Inbox on the server at regular
intervals. By default, it then deletes the messages from the Invox on the
server. The message is only on your PC at this point.

IMAP synchronizes folders on your email server with the folders on your PC
email client. The messages remain on the server until they are deleted.
This is what makes IMAP better for use when reading email from different
computers and devices. Each device is synchronized to have the latest, will
not miss messages read on another device, or need to delete the same
messages on different devices. These are problems you will likely encounter
reading POP3 email on a computer and a smart phone. IMAP synchronizes
several folders, like Drafts, Sent Mail, Junk Mail, and Trash. It might
also synchronize other archive or labels in Gmail. If it is working slower
than expected, perhaps it is synchronizing more folders or details than
necessary for you. Most clients have ways, usually through using the
Applications key on the folder, to set which folders should be synchronized,
or hidden. It is also possible to indicate that for this folder, just
synchronize the headers rather than the entire messages. Reducing the
amount of work the client needs to perform to keep up with your email will
make it snappier!

 Hello list,

I've been working with Outlook 2010 and have set up a few email accounts.
One thing I'm noticing though, is that jaws is noticeably slower when
working with my imap emails as opposed to the ones I have set up as pop.
With the pop emails, when I press the delete button or arrow through
the list view of messages, Jaws works fine and as it always done, but
when working with the imap messages and again, deleting or arrowing
through them, Jaws gets sluggish and speech is delayed or I sometimes
have to just press the say line command to get Jaws to speak the next
message's information. I am using the latest JFW 13 release and am
working with Outlook 2010 on a
Win7 Dell. The only difference between these email accounts is the pop
 and imap configuration.
Are others experiencing this issue or might they have an idea of how
to better improve the JFW slow performance?

 Thanks,
