Re: MacTubes No Longer Working?

2015-05-11 Thread Daniel Miller
Hi, I'm not sure if you saw on the list a while back, but Mac tubes as well as
you view, second-generation Apple TV units, various video game consoles, smart
TVs, and other set-top boxes of been rendered useless via an eight DI change.
And list the developer released an update to make tubes that I'm not aware of
that may have fixed the issues, yet potentially provide another one, that app
as well as other third-party ones no longer work. Unfortunately, at this time
from what I can see, there's no third-party app for YouTube that is functioning.

Re: Mactubes with Lion

2014-10-23 Thread David Griffith

The first thing I did was label the unlabelled buttons.
Press shift Vo H on each button to hear the help tag for each button,
most will have one, then Copy what is said to the clipboard with shift
VO C and then bring up the Voiceover Labeller by pressing VO / and then
pasting in the contents of the help tag.
You can label the vast majority of buttons with this method. This may
help you get started.

You also need to go to the menu bar and select quicktime as your output
codec.

Re: Mactubes not working after clean install

2014-02-13 Thread Alex Hall
The is a way to download videos. However, you can consider it a pro feature, as
you must donate to the project before it will let you save. I haven't done this
yet, as I almost never need to save videos, but it can be done if you are
willing to give the developer a bit of money. This app is so well done that I
might just do that even if I don't use the save feature.

Wow, thanks so much for the recommendation! This is officially my new favorite
Youtube app! The interface is cleaner and has labels, the playback controls
work better, and it supports logging in and other features. A really great app.

2014-02-11 Thread BBS
Hey Alex and others. After investigating the app, I found that there was no way
to download a video unless that save option does it but I somehow doubt it. So
I think I'll still use Mactubes unless someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Mactubes not working after clean install

2014-02-10 Thread Chris H

Just a thought but do these apps require flash to be installed?

Regards Chris

Hi all,
Ever since I installed Mavericks a few weeks ago, I have been unable to
play videos through the Mactubes app. I get no errors, but neither do I
get any sound. I should have the latest version, since I re-downloaded
it rather than copying over my old copy, but for some reason it isn't
working. All was well before I did the clean install. Is there some
companion software I need? A setting to be changed? I have tried all
three player types, but none work. Thanks.

Re: Mactubes player controls

Hi Tracy, yes, I found the toolbar in the HTML area and figured out from there.
It works okay, but if I really want to work through a video, I download it and
use QuickTime and it's rewind and fast-forward features. They're much better.

Hi,

another way to download is to route your mouse cursor to the results table and
press CTRL + click on your trackpad without having Trackpad Commander on. Then
you also have the context menue where you can choose download.
Just in case you don't want to start the video first.

All the best

Re: Mactubes

2012-11-27 Thread Jane
It definitely *is* possible to download videos from MacTubes. It takes
fiddling, but it *is* doable.

You have to put in the URL for the video and start it playing, Then you have to
find the first unlabeled button to the right of the playing video then hit
control-option-shift-m and arrow down till you hear download submenu then hit
right-arrow and arrow down to the video format you want. I tend to use MP4.

Then watch the slider to the right until it says 100% and the video will be
ownloaded.

Re: Mactubes

2012-11-27 Thread Cheryl Homiak
No, it really doesn't have to be that complicated.

First of all, read the help tags for your buttons and label them.
Secondly, there is no need to put the url in unless you don't want to do a
search. Just search and start playing. when you find the one you want to
download, do vo-shift-m on the player menu button (I don't remember whether or
not I had to label it but you can find out what it is using the help tags. In
the menu will be a download option with options for your download format.

Hth.
