Thanks, if I come across any more pages I can identify as obsolete, I'll
mark them in a similar way.

(I am working my way through A Not So Short Introduction to ConTeXt Mark IV
and the author occasionally says something like "I couldn't get this to
work", which is how I came across \nolist. Perhaps on a rainy day I'll
hunt through that document and it will reveal some other obsolete commands.)

Cheers.

Yes! And I fixed the missing interwiki prefix. The pages actually exist, but
the link prefix didn’t.

You meant "\nolist”. I am sure there are more obsolete command pages, but they
are not easy to find. I edited this page by using the also obsolete \couplepage
as an example.

The command was removed because you can set different texts for the

They are no longer needed. The new syntax is:

\startchapter[title=..., marking=..., list=..., bookmark=...]

\stopchapter

so you can explicitly set whawt needs to go into the marking, list, and

Exactly what the error message tells you, the command \nolist is not defined in
MkIV.

You can find a solution to a similar problem here:

http://wiki.contextgarden.net/MkIV_Differences#Nomarking.2FSelect

A alternative is to use the start/stop-commands where you can set a different

\startsection[title={AAA aaa},list={AAA}]

...

that has always been possible ...

\chapter{Some Text}

\bookmark{Overloads the previous one}

But, will there be similar support for specifying bookmark text for things
like \completelistoffigures? Right now, the bookmark says something like
'\headtext{figures}' in my PDF viewer.

you can turn on expansion (\setuplist[figure][expansion=yes]) but indeed
 this will be taken care of;

uhh! this is surprising ... but clean and convenient to do it per

2008-09-15 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

I remember Henning was fighting with this quite a while ... but
eventually this was solved, wasn't it?
Shouldn't the following give NO textellipsis in the TOC:

\starttext

\setuplist[chapter][limittext={}]
\completecontent

\chapter{aaa\nolist{bbb}ccc}

\stoptext

Seems I forgot what you wrote after I tested your example.

Enclosing the period in braces {.} did work and is a temprorary solution
but the problem need to be solved.

I inserted it to get a space for \\ in the table of content, I wasn't related
to the space after punctuation but to the header content. Just related to
the minimum example.

Of course, every normal inter-word space is kept; that's why I wrote
"that in titles the space after a dot ... gets eaten". (Ok, it's a
full stop, maybe not a dot?)
I consider this a very strange bug, can't avoid punctuation in titles.

Thank you, Taco!
\unskip really seems to be what I was looking for.

\nocr was a meaningless duplication of \\, and I should have thought
of a space before that.

> \setuphead[chapter][incrementnumber=no]

I had that already. And I don't see how that would influence
typesetting of punctuation or spaces?

The period after "B" in the author filed eats the space, I tried the example
with "B Rüssel" and the space is in the output.

\setuphead[chapter][incrementnumber=no]

This did work for the title, the \\ is converted to a space if the above line is
in the source.

My problem is now, that in titles the space after a dot and after \\
(or \nocr) gets eaten, the above example becomes in ToC:

B.Rüssel: Consequences of the Brussels Declarationfor German cultural
politics

What's wrong? (Two different problems, I guess.)

(I use XeTeX with latest ConTeXt)

For I must send my book to the printer, I fixed it with inserting "\
". But I'd appreciate a real solution.

I deleted all temp files after every try, that should be enough.

Re: [NTG-context] List of figures with shorter captions

2005-05-30 Thread Michael Fuchs
Hi!

You can use the \nolist{} command within the caption for parts, that shouldn't
go in the list of figures:

f.ex:

 \placefigure [here][fig:Res_FlussSkalierungsfaktor]
{This is a caption. \nolist{This part of the caption will not be
  listed in the list of figures.}}
{\externalfigure[ResDat32_PhiProton2][width=100mm]}

Instead the part within \nolist will be replaced by "..." (3 dots).
If you want to change this default behaviour use the "limittext"-option as
shown in the following example.

\placelistoffigures[before=\blank,criterium=all,limittext={}]

Best Regards

Michael

[NTG-context] Floating table caption extends textwidth

2005-03-16 Thread Michael Fuchs
Hi!

I have problems creating a "multi-line" caption for a floating table.
If the caption is too long it will extend the text width. The following
example shows this problem on http://live.contextgarden.net/.

I was able to find out, that this problem only appears if one of the
variables "width" or "textwidth" in the "setuplayout" command were
used to define the textwidth.

Regards

Michael

EXAMPLE:

 \setuplayout[
backspace=25mm, topspace=10mm, header=10mm, headerdistance=5mm,
width=16cm, % <-- COMMENT THIS TO SEE THE EX WORK
height=fit,footer=10mm, footerdistance=5mm, bottom=5mm]

 \starttext

\placetable[here][tab:Referenz]
 zu Selektion verwendet wird.}
 }
 {
 \setupTABLE[x][1][width=4cm, align=middle]
 \setupTABLE[x][2,3,4,5][width=3cm, align=middle]
 \bTABLE
\bTR
\bTH Anzahl \eTH
\bTH Daten \eTH
\bTH MC \eTH
\bTH Daten \eTH
\bTH MC \eTH

 }
