[NTG-context] Interaction broken for formulas in LMTX

2022-07-14 Thread Jairo A. del Rio via ntg-context
Hi, list!

Sorry, I don't have a MWE, but it looks like interactive references for
formulas (via \in) are not working after the update. I mean, labels are
fine, but they do nothing when clicked. References for tables and figures
are fine, though.

Best regards,

[NTG-context] Interaction references with Reference List and Bibliography

2020-06-10 Thread Adam Reviczky
Hi,

When I try to create a "Reference List" (for cited references in the
document) followed by a "Bibliography" (for the rest of literature, not
cited) I get wrong references linked back in the document when citing a
reference multiple times, although the citation in the text is always fine.

See MWE:
---
\setupinteraction[state=start]

\usebtxdataset[sample.bib]
\usebtxdefinitions[apa]

\starttext
\input tufte \cite[hh2010a]
\input zapf \cite[hh2010a]

\title{Reference List}
\placelistofpublications[criterium=all]

\title{Bibliography}
\placelistofpublications[method=dataset]
\stoptext
---

Publications taken from (https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Sample_bib) as
sample.bib.

The outcome is correctly cited (Hagen, 2010a) including the interaction to
the reference list, but the second citation is also linked to the first
item in the bibliography Eijkhout, V. (1991) rather than the reference list
entry again. If I cite the item again, then the second item in the
bibliography is referenced and so on.

"aps" doesn't seem to create an interactive back reference, so the issue is
only with "apa".

Is this because I mix both references and bibliography with
placelistofpublications? Any other way to achieve this keeping interaction
links in place?

Thanks,
Adam

Hans has worked on the interaction, so you should use
\setupbtx[interaction=number]
other choices are page, text, or all.

But there can be other interaction, depending on the specification.
APA and APS will create hyperlinks for url or doi. The title can also
be active, opening a file if this field is specified.

We are updating the manual.

[NTG-context] Interaction in bibliographies

2017-08-12 Thread Rik Kabel
MKIV Publications
, page
46, states:

If interaction is active (\setupinteraction[state=start]), then
these page numbers will be hyperlinks back to the citations. If
numbering=yes, then the numbered bibliography entries will also
contain hyperlinks back to the first occurrence in the text where
the entry is cited (which is the same as the first page indexed).

However, that does not seem to be the case, either in my own documents
or in that manual, which clearly has interaction enabled for other items.

Is the manual incorrect, or is this a bug?

btw, you don't need the extra {} in the setup

Many thanks, Peter. This works well but only if I do not have spaces in the
fields for “body=” etc. How did you get around this limitation? (I am
running ConTeXt ver: 2014.07.11 12:20 MKIV beta.)

[NTG-context] interaction strangeness

2013-12-06 Thread H. van der Meer
Something strange happened here with the interaction in a pdf produced.
There are chapters reacting when clicked in the table of contents but some are
not. Moreover, this behaviour changes with the version of context used.

I tried 3 versions of the beta:
ConTeXt ver: 2013.10.15 13:52 MKIV beta
ConTeXt ver: 2013.11.10 12:23 MKIV beta
One specific chapter does not jump to the starting page when clicked.

ConTeXt ver: 2013.12.04 11:34 MKIV beta
Nothing changed in the source but now another chapter link also becomes
inactive!

There is no ready explanation I can think of. Because the document in question
is about 500 pages I do not yet have a minimal example at hand. And as I
suspect the problem can have its origin in the complexity and/or size of the
document, I fear the construction of a minimal example will be difficult.
Therefore I am first asking if this problem is known already. Afterwards I will
try to find a small example, of course.

I confirm the problem and the strange behavior when moving chapters
around or adding dummy chapters and sections.

I, too, have not yet been able to produce a minimal example, and we
have little hope of getting this fixed until we can produce such a
minimal example.

I was wrong, I tried it now with the beta from two days ago and there is also

The odd thing is the following block from the tuc file with the two reference

[NTG-context] interaction?

2011-11-25 Thread Hans van der Meer
I have troubles with interaction in a screen document.

(1) I took the example from the wiki:
\setuppapersize[A6][A6]
\setupinteraction[state=start]
\setupreferencing[interaction=all]
\starttext
Reference is here \reference[label:1]{Some text}
\page[yes] % Insert page break
Link to \goto{some text elsewhere}[label:1].
\stoptext

Although the link on page-2 brings me to page_1, the contents of {Some text}
has completely disappeared. Why is this? What is the essence of having this
argument if it is not displayed?

(2) Transfering this code to a more complex document containing other
references, to figures, tables etc. makes the action disappear! Clicking then
does nothing, although the links to the figures and tables can be used.

The link works when the code above is placed BEFORE \completecontent. But
becomes incative when put BEHIND it. The index however has links transferring
to the various part of the3 document.

Please can some enlighten me? Why are links through \placefigure, \placetable
alive and those with \reference-\goto are not?

You can show the text when you call the reference with
 “\getreference[text][label:1]”.

This confuses me more. Perhaps I am misunderstanding but now I get from this:

Reference is here \reference[label:1]{Some text}\blank
and is: \getreference[tekst][label:1]

The output reads as follows, empty at the place of the \getreferenc:
Reference is here
and is:

I also tried \getreference{tekst}[label:1] but that becomes worse:
??tekst[label:1]

 (2) Transfering this code to a more complex document containing other

I quickly tried to put some things together but did not yet find the behaviour.
But the real document is part of a project met products and components. Later I
will setup a similar textproject to see if that could be the cause.

 Wolfgang,

Thanks for that one. I completely misunderstood, thinking that for text one
could substitute something to typeset (like in \in{}[]) instead of regarding
 it as a keyword hole.

For the interaction problem I have made a very tiny project. At the start of
the contents is an outer reference inside the project files an inner
reference. The outer one can be reached both from the outside as well as
from the inside of the project files. The colouring of the links show it too.
Yhe inner reference does not show up, instead the log shows:

 references start problematic references
 unknown 2: [part2][label:1]
 references stop problematic references

But I do not know enough of the referencing mechanism to interprete it.
Hope you can nail the problem, either with my doing or something within
 ConTeXt.

It’s a bug (maybe wrong default settings) which was introduced with Idris
request
to have lists which are local to a component, when you refer to the label with
the name of the component as prefix (\getreference[text][part1:label:1]) the
text
is shown.

Sorry, I forgot to mention (and maybe it's obvious) that the problem
only seems to appear in the paragraph directly after the enumeration, so
the colors are correct in last paragraph in:

Re: [NTG-context] interaction colors and page break

2011-10-06 Thread Christian
The same thing happens here when referring to a figure using
\setupinteraction[state=start, focus=standard, style=,color=]
and
\definereferenceformat[infig][left={(Abb. },right={)}]

In one place it generates a red link, on another page a black one.
In both cases the figures are on the same page as the link in the text.
I have no idea what could cause this, both figures and both references are
using the same commands and options.

Sorry, I forgot to mention (and maybe it's obvious) that the problem only
seems to appear in the paragraph directly after the enumeration, so the
colors are correct in last paragraph in:

 \setupinteraction[state=start]
 \setupitemize[each][n, packed]
 \defineenumeration[myenum][text=Enumeration, location=top]

 \starttext
 \dorecurse{9}{\input ward \par}

 \startmyenum[enum]
 \startitemize
   \item Go to step \in[step].
   \item[step] Step.
 \stopitemize
 \stopmyenum

Step \in[step] of \in{Enumeration}[enum]. These numbers shouldn't be red,
should they? They are on the new page.

Step \in[step] of \in{Enumeration}[enum]. These numbers are green, as
 expected.
 \stoptext

 Stefan.

Re: [NTG-context] interaction colors and page break

2011-10-06 Thread Christian
Here you go:
%%
\setupinteraction[state=start, focus=standard, style=,color=]
\setupreferencing[interaction=all]
\definereferenceformat[infig][left={(Abb. },right={)}]
\starttext
\input knuth \infig[cow1]
\placefigure[here][cow1]{A Cow}{\externalfigure[cow][width=0.3\textwidth]}
\page
\input knuth \infig[cow2]
\page
\input knuth
\placefigure[here][cow2]{Another Cow}{\externalfigure[cow][width=0.3\textwidth]}
\stoptext
%%

Seems that \page has indeed something to do with this, although I do not use
this command
in my other document. Here I had to use it in order to produce a black link for
the quick example.

It is not only that the links have the wrong color, they are not clickable
anymore. It doesn't seem that random, though. See attached example in my
previous mail strange interaction with footnote and section.

[NTG-context] Interaction messing with footnote positioning

2011-01-12 Thread Mathieu Boespflug
Hi all,

consider the following document:

\setupinteraction[state=start]

\starttext

{\definedfont[Regular at 30pt] blah\footnote{hello}}

\stoptext

and compare it with the result for the same document where the first
line is commented out. The footnote number isn't aligned the same.
Shouldn't setupinteraction have no impact this sort of thing?

Best,

[NTG-context] Interaction and TOC/content problmes

2010-08-11 Thread Martin Althoff
I am having a couple of small problems with the interaction. In principle it's
working, but...

1. The TOC is added to the bookmarks, which is fine, but with a lower-case c,
ie. content

2. From http://wiki.contextgarden.net/PDF_Bookmarks_and_Headers I figured out
how to get rid of the \crlf in the header. Actually, I'd be happy to just pass
the word Introduction to the bookmarks and leave out the rest. Any way of
doing that?

3. Strangely enough, placing \bookmark{Intro} after the \title {Introduction --
\crlf Welcome} replaces the content entry and points to the content, but
putting a \bookmark after \completecontent leads to no output at all.

Thanks for any pointers !

[NTG-context] interaction [MkIV]

2010-05-24 Thread Rogutės Sparnuotos
G'day,

The defaults of interaction seem to be a bit strange (are they meant for
slides?)... Could someone please help me with these points?

A) Clicking on a reference to a footnote should take me to the footnote at
   the bottom of the page.
B) Once at the bottom of the page, clicking on the footnote number should
take me back to where it was referenced.

A) doesn't work, hence the first question: is there a parameter that I can
give to \setupinteraction[], to make links work when the destination of
the reference is on the same page as the reference itself?

B) changes the zoom level, even with 'focus=standard', and takes me to the
   previous page. An example:
 \setupinteraction[state=start,focus=standard]
 \starttext
 \footnote{Note 1}\pagebreak
 \footnote{Note 2}\pagebreak
 \footnote{Note 3}
 \stoptext
Compile, open pdf, go to the bottom of the document, click on the green
   '3'.

By the way, why isn't the 'focus=standard' parameter mentioned in either
Reference/en, or in setup-en.pdf? Found about it here:
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Interaction

P.S. I am using the 'evince' document viewer; PDFs generated with XeLaTeX
work very well.

Thanks, but that didn't work either.
Then something is wrong in your test file because i tested
the above myself and it worked, to get your own module
working replace your translate macros with this:
Thanks, I had applied your previous suggestion in the wrong order. This now
works.

But what about environments like \startnarrower? Are they supposed to
work in footnotes? How do I know when writing a document that I can't
use them in footnotes when interaction is enabled? (Sorry I can't look
up in the wiki right now whether this is mentioned or not.)

Yes, I did. It's friday's beta and recent minimals but I remember
already experiencing this error a while ago and ignoring it back then
(by switching off interaction). And note that I don't even have
clickable stuff _in_ the footnote, it is the raised footnote marker
itself that is clickable.

Thanks anyways,

[NTG-context] Interaction between overlay and typing?

2009-06-06 Thread Gerben Wierda

I'm almost there:

\definetyping[SQL][option=color,numbering=line]
\defineoverlay[ifsqoverlay][\overlayfigure{IfSQ-overlay.pdf}]
\starttext
\setuppapersize[A4,landscape][a4,landscape]
\setupbackgrounds[page][overlay=ifsqoverlay]
\typefile[SQL][]{details.pls}
\stoptext

Gets me the landscape, A4, numbered output. It does not get me the
overlay. Some interaction between verbatim and overlay? I also do not
see any coloration.

sources, just for something that simple as a background image)

Gets me the landscape, A4, numbered output. It does not get me the
overlay. Some interaction between verbatim and overlay? I also do
not see any coloration.

Forget this, you can get different colors by redefining these settings:

\definecolor [colorprettyone] [r=.9, g=.0, b=.0] % red
\definecolor [colorprettytwo] [r=.0, g=.8, b=.0] % green
\definecolor [colorprettythree] [r=.0, g=.0, b=.9] % blue
\definecolor [colorprettyfour] [r=.8, g=.8, b=.6] % yellow

Yes, hyperref with LaTeX does this, but I recommend looking at _how_ it

(showing all combinations in a maniual would probably explode that manual)

- use \showframe when testing this, it helps to see where things go

- use \setuppapersizep[S6][S8] so that you can see what happens outside
the page

- now, in order to see the menu ...

\setupinteractionmenu
   [myMenu]
   [state=start]

so, you can toggle them on and off, which is handy if you want another
menu on some pages

- in order to get them overlayed ...

\setupinteractionmenu

   [distance=overlay]

Re: [NTG-context] \*interaction* commands

2008-07-29 Thread Alan Stone
I'm still trying to reproduce the layo-05.tex example Hans. As its code
is rather tortuous I studied other examples. Up till now this has been
quite a time investment without noticeable return, partly due to not
finding a comprehensive \*interaction* commands documentation to
guide me all along.

Therefore, I wanted to give it (and ConTeXt) one last chance by starting
from scratch and progress by trial and error.

Hence my previous question.

Alan

P.S. What I meant by texshow being a black hole is: there's a lot of stuff
in there, but for the most part (as a user) I don't have a clue what it is
and
what it means.
