Re: PESO: Road Kill Cleanup Contractors
Yes, I remember your post. I have never seen vultures on the ground in town but I have seen them flying overhead. Plenty of Maribou Storks at the Municipal rubbish dump. The Yellow Billed Kites, Indian Mynahs & Crows are the usual road cleaners. The first Pied Crows arrived in Phalaborwa about 1980, now there are plenty. Alan C On 10-Jul-18 05:10 PM, Daniel J. Tamron Adaptall2 180mm F2.5 SP LD Non Macro Ltd ED. Sample image of Lens itself
Its shorter than a typical 200mm, but not as short as a typical 135mm, and it takes a 77mm filter so the front glass is pretty large and heavy. Overall it handles well as it has total internal focus: https://www.jchriso.com/temp/lens1.jpg -- J.C. Re: Correction the tamron SP LD 180mm is F2.5 (FAST)
Ive heard good things about the D FA 80-200/2.8. Im not really into AF I have two excellent MF 80-200/2.8 lenses, a tamron SP and a Tokina AT-X, They are both optically and mechanically great but they are bulky so I rarely use them, prefering the A70-210/4 most of the time if Im going to use a zoom. The nice thihg about thing about the tamron 180/2.5 is its fast and compact (but not that light). On Tue, 10 Jul 2018 16:52:15 -0400, Paul Stenquist wrote: Yep. Here's the future...
While the race has been on to produce higher and higher resolution sensors for digital cameras, while reducing the noise, the future is post-processing images to enhance grain/noise and sharpness. It appears that this is possible now, but at a very high cost. (It is still more economical to buy a more capable camera than to buy the hardware that can DO this. Re: Amazon Prime Photos and PEF
Toine, Sorry, I haven't tried with PEF files, because I switched to DNG as soon as I had camera capable of those (K-7), - for the higher universality. However, the problem with using Amazon Prime (or for that reason any other cloud backup/storage) is the sheer volume of the files: It'd be extremely slow to backup large chunks (E.g. even a half of a 32GB card would take rather long time with the slow upload speeds of the "Broadband" in the USA. Also, it would quickly use the monthly bandwidth allowance for our home internet. An extra external HDD is cheaper than the extra step in the internet plan. Just my 2 cents.
