I have one, very nice. Very sharp, nice bokeh. I almost prefer the Cosina 1.2, which has a slightly warmer cast, as it renders portraits beautifully. Re: K50/1.2
There is (or used to be, I did not check as of lately) this fellow on PentaxForums that if you send him your lenses, he'd take them apart, re-plate them and CLA them. I once inquired about the A 50/1.2 I wanted mine to look like that silver special edition, to match my silver FA 77/1.8. He gave a very reasonable quote and if I were living in US of A or Can of Ada, I'd be giving it a try. The only thing he can't do, is to replace the black focus ring. This is some kind of plastic/resin/whatever non-metal material and so it has to stay. So, the lens will look almost like the special edition, but not quite. On Thu, Dec 29, 2016 at 6:08 PM, P. J. The price on some lenses came down this week. That 15-30 f/28 I'm looking at was $1450 at B&H earlier this week, but when I stopped by my local Pentax dealer yesterday, he said he could sell it for $1250. Pure speculation of course, but i would think that the economics of running multiple production lines with multiple products, all of which would depend on subcomponents from various suppliers, would dictate a batch-mode process: stock the materials (and/or get a supply flow established), build “enough” plus a few, ship them out (and let the wholesalers and retailers worry about a place to store the to-be-sold stock), reconfigure the line, and start making something else. stan -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Divide by zero error. There's no such thing as "photographic commonsense". Anyway you don't pick lenses using math. You take them out on dates to see if you're compatible. It's more an emo thing. FS Friday K50/1.2 - Winder MX
Hi gang, There's a K50/1.2 sitting in the lens cabinet that I've rarely used. I got it about three years go, it had a good CLA from a reputable repair guy, and has seen only light service since then. When it came back from the repair shop I was told that there is a tiny nick on the rear element. I had to look a bit to find it, and hadn't noticed it before, so it really is small. Compared to a couple of other 50mm lenses, I see no evidence that this nick has caused any degradation in the results produced by this lens. However, because it's less than perfect, I'll offer it at a "less than perfect" price - $275.00 plus shipping anywhere in the world. Don't like the price? Make an offer. Don't be bashful. No Paypal payments. Pics available later in the day - just ask. Also offering the Winder MX. It's on eBay now. Bid early, bid often, bid high http://tinyurl.com/2crgla http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280091956784 Please contact me off list. Thanks! Ok, the post you've all been waiting for... with prices. :) All items show signs of use but not abuse. Nothing's in mint condition, but nothing's ugly, either. Expect to see light to moderate signs of wear and tear, possibly some dust in some lenses but nothing really noticeable. I'll mention some of the more obvious points below. Prices do not include shipping. LX body: $350 US Good: includes FA-1 metered prism finder, dedicated Pentax LX strap, and box; no sticky mirror (had a complete overhaul about three years ago), works perfectly Bad: Leatherette starting to peel in one corner, automatic button permanently depressed so does not lock in auto mode (I find this a plus, personally, as it's quicker to use and you can still see your setting in the viewfinder) K50mm f1.2: $175 US M24-35mm f3.5: $225 US (has name and number engraved on bottom ring at back of lens) Zenitar 16mm f2.8 fisheye (K-mount): $100 US (comes with all filters, caps, manual, case, as purchased from a list member) Vivitar 55mm f2.8 1:1 macro (K-mount): $125 US Pentax does not make a manual focus 50ish f2.8 macro lens in K-mount that can do 1:1, which is why I went with the Vivitar Kenko Automatic Extension Tube Set (3 tubes: 12, 20, 36mm): $100 US Full aperture coupling and electronic contacts. With original box, only used a few times. Please write me off-list if you have any questions or wish to purchase an item. I don't have any pictures of the equipment yet, and by the time I can make time to take some, I'll probably be ready to list any remaining stuff on eBay. I'll accept PayPal, Western Union, and money orders drawn from a bank or post office that are negotiable in Canada. All items will be shipped fully insured, and I guarantee that they'll be packed well enough to arrive safe and sound, as anyone who has bought stuff from me before can confirm. :) Thanks for reading! Chris

Hi Chris et. al, You were correct, the lens arrived yesterday, apparently it seemed that it had not been interfered with by customs it just suffered from seriously slow shipping. Thanks to all for the attention. Re: K50/1.2 lost in transit
Last month I ordered two filters (big circ polarizers are 1/2 the UK price in the USA!) from New Jersey, and they were shipped USPS airmail on the same day. One turned up in 5 days whilst the other turned turned up last Saturday, exactly a month after shipping. Neither were opened by customs as far as I can tell. I'd just about given up of the second and the shop was preparing to send me a replacement when it arrived. So maybe the 50mm's not lost yet? > >Items that I send to the US often arrive in 5 to 7 days via EconomyAir, > >laziness isn't part of the shipping equation :-( Chris
Re: K50/1.2 lost in transit
Then there are those items that get set aside for "inspection". I lost mail (letters) to and from 'Oz this past Christmas. First time that has happened in many years. Items that I send to the US often arrive in 5 to 7 days via EconomyAir, laziness isn't part of the shipping equation :-( Thanks to all for the help. The 2 times that I bought things out of Australia over the last few years both took an extraordinary amount of time to arrive in the US. One of the items suffered from an assumption of meaning by the seller that "I'll get it out right away" that really meant about a week later, but it still was in transit for a long time. Good luck! Len --- Hi Len, Thanks for the attention, if it helps it left Sydney on the 17 Feb 2003 and never made it to Sequim WA. Cheers, Rob Studdert
Re: K50/1.2 lost in transit
Once, I had to wait two months for a package from the US (air mail!). When I finally received it, it occured that it spend a month on a Post Office in Warsaw. So I'm a little more relaxed when it comes to post now. Hope everything works out well with the lens. To where in the U.S. did you ship it? There are a lot of us over here and it would help to know where to put our special attention. K50/1.2 lost in transit
Hi Team, I sent a near pristine Pentax SMC 50/1.2 to a guy in the US, unfortunately it seems to have been lost in transit. So if anyone spies a really nice 50/1.2 with the serial number 1468197 for sale I would really like to be notified, thanks. It will be listed on the photo.net registry shortly also.
