 tracks simply don't show up.
 - Scrobbling from the Library with standard sound files does work.
 - Scrobbling of Deezer standalone, i.e. by using Deezer's web-interface,
 does work as well.

I am willing to investigate this. So please tell me how to turn on the
debugging. Lets start with a simple question: Can this be done from the
web-interface or should I do this from the console? (Server runs on a
 QNAP/TS-119 Linux-box)

You can find the logging settings in the web-UI settings ,there is also
a setting for LMS to remember log settings between reboots.
There is a lot of log settings ,but there should be one with scrobbler
something in it's name .

What goes on gets written to the server.log file ,you can look at this
file from the web-UI too either from the info page in settings or from
the log settings page .

But best is to grab the whole file zip it and attach here, then you
migth need SSH or SCP , snippets of the log you can copy directly from
the web-UI , but usually the devs wants all of it not only a snippet .

I don't have Mountain Lion yet, but I wonder if my old solution would
work.

There was a little program called Jiggler that prevented sleep by
simulating a mouse movement every minute or so. I wrote a very simple
shell script to start and quit Jiggler, and then I used Server Power
Control to run these scripts at the relevant moments.

I meant that muso had some 2 _MB_ of RAM.

Yeah those big thumbnails will consume quite a bit of memory, try build
03 from the homepage now. When your collection is over 2000 albums it
reduces the size of the thumbnails it holds, though it still has to read
the thumbnails muso has generated - on my tests it does help with memory
consumption significantly, but then again I don't have the volume of
albums or size of thumbnails that you do. When you zoom in manually to a
section of the view, it should load the normal thumbnails to prevent
pixellation of the tiny thumbnails, but only for the section on display.
The same goes for when you zoom right in to a single album by clicking
on it - then it should load the full cover.

I've also made it carry over any filter from muso to the initial
pivotviewer album collection - so if you still have problems you could
try it on a single genre perhaps by applying that in the standard muso
window before invoking pivotviewer.

OK.

Aborting by pressing the red X now works.

muso was using under 800 kB RAM.

muso seemed not to respect the show desktop command (from the Windows
task bar).

After muso was sent to the background it was not possible to show the
muso Windows again through alt+tab or the Windows task bar. Therefore I
could not check the status of muso.

Eventually muso crashed. This was with the entire collection.

Thanks for the reminder about Jiggler Danco.

I have now downloaded 1.4 and tried it under Mountain Lion (bypassing
the warning that it does not have a developer signature). ML really does
have an aggressive sleep policy as Jiggler jiggles but does not prevent
sleep.

I would have been happy to use it as an interim solution if it had
worked, but I remember now why I started using Caffeine - those mouse
jiggles are disconcerting for anyone else in the family who comes to use
my Mac Mini while Jiggler is running.

The way ahead with ML does seem to be with the assertions.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MUSO - Support Thread

2012-08-08 Thread vagskal

It worked with the 268 albums in my Blues genre.

I guess the pivot viewer is some kind of touch screen interface and it
takes some time to get used to it. One thing I noticed was that the
thumbnails were very small when all 268 albums were shown. Zooming with
the mouse scroll wheel helped, but when I selected an album by clicking
on it and then deselected it by clicking on it again muso reverted to
the initial view with all 268 albums, not the zoom state I came from. It
is cool that the zooming goes on forever (using the mouse scroll wheel,
not the thumbnail slider).

Choosing the Freshness sort option repeated times shuffled some of the
albums (they switched places). It looked kind of cool, but I wonder if
that was intended.

Oh, and I thought the Labels option would show the albums by record
label but that is obviously not the case.

Is there any now playing screen in pivot view? I could not find any. For
me to consider an interface such as this for everyday use a now playing
screen is a must, and information on contributing and supporting artists
on a per track basis.

You must have put a lot of work into this!

I'm just playing with it so thought I'd put it out there to see what
people think. The pivotviewer style interface is already established in
the tech world, I just thought I'd try applying it to a music album
collection as a technical challenge - it may not stay part of muso.

http://www.visualisingdata.com/index.php/2010/07/microsofts-pivotviewer-data-visualisation-tool/
http://netflixpivot.cloudapp.net/

The pivotviewer interface is really a data analysis tool, used for
visualising patterns in your data and helping to quickly navigate around
a huge collection via facets of the data (album attributes in muso
terminology).

I'll probably put a standard windows border on it for the next build so
you can minimise it, easily switch back to the main muso window, etc -
so this can still act as your Now Playing window.

I think that may be too large to transfer with all the album art as
well. I may try to replicate larger collections from my 2500 album

Use smaller thumbnails when 2000 albums, to save memory (standard

Carry over any muso filter (mode, text, tags, or minimum rating) to

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] OSX Mountain Lion sleep issues

2012-08-08 Thread nonnoroger

Well, it dawned on me that we should be able to invoke caffeinate as it
is from ReallyPreventStandby instead of Gordon's sleep-inhibit (although
I see from the source of this that it was also using assertions, but
differently from caffeinate and presumably not in a way that works under
Mountain Lion).

ReallyPreventStandby has these settings:

Allow standby after how many idle minutes?
Prohibit standby if players are on?
Inhibit standby command
Re-enable standby command
Inhibit is a toggle command

Under OSX, by default, the inhibit command is set to sleep-inhibit with
a period of 60 seconds. There is no re-enable command and the inhibit
command is not a toggle (meaning it gets called periodically - I guess
every 60 seconds or thereabouts).

My first try was to set these as: /us/bin/caffeinate -i (which creates
an assertion to prevent the system from idle sleeping), pkill
caffeinate, and command is a toggle. But found that caffeinate was not
getting invoked (I do not know why).

So instead I am now using: /usr/bin/caffeinate -i -t 60 (create the
assertion for 60 seconds), no re-enable command, and inhibit is not a
toggle.

This now seems to be working! Well, after about 30 minutes of listening
I did get the system going into standby while playing once. Just
wondering if this was due to one invocation of caffeinate terminating
before a new one is started.

Gordon - I notice that usually a second caffeinate is invoked before the
previous one times out. Is this intentional/designed? Is the 60 seconds
a built-in period for the re-invocaction? Any ideas why I could not get
it working as a toggle?

By the way, I have my system sleep time set to 10 minutes. I am
currently running with ReallyPreventStandby set to preventing standby if
players are on - when I had the system going into standby while playing
this setting was off.

I will try it for a couple of days and then post again.

No need to wait a couple of days. My Mac Mini is still going to sleep
sometimes while LMS is playing to a SB (Touch). For a while
ReallyPreventStandby, invoking caffeinate, does prevent standby beyond
my system idle timer. But sometimes it just goes to sleep.

I strongly suspect that this is a glitch that comes with the repeated
calls of caffeinate. Caffeinate -i called directly from the command line
has never yet allowed sleep.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] REQUEST spotify integration squeezebox

2012-08-08 Thread johan d

Hello, i hope someone of Logitech is reading with us.

I have a SB touch and I use Spotify. I have a starred playlist of 800
songs. When i want to play tht starred playlist only the last 500 added
songs are added to the mix. This must be a squeezebox issue, because it
does take all 800 songs on my Samsung mobile and spotify client on the
computer.
As a workaround i mannaged to include all 800 songs, but this is a pain
in the xxx, so i would request to be able to play larger spotify
playlists in future upgrades of the spotify plugin.

My workaround:
1. play the starred playlist (only 500 songs are added)
2.open the starred playlist and scroll to the bottom
3. long press more results
4. select Add to end

I don't see why logitech would this make a variable setting on LMS and
mysqueezebox.com

Thank a lot, Johan

btw: the setting advanced-performance-maximum playlist length does not
make me play longer spotify playlists than 500 when set to 0
