Hi, I'm a Newbie and non-technical, so just checking that Spotty won't
run on my old Synology DS207+ with the Marvel Orion CPU and with 28Mb
memory, running squeeze centre 7.5.3 packaged as LMS. am I correct in
assuming that this is too old to run spotty? thankyou, sorry for the
newbie question.oh, if its OK to run. Where do I find the download
instructions? Many thanks.

it provided better support for plugins. ;-)

That's good.

The problem is that the package managers are now all third party, and

Again: you better ask in some QNAP forum or thread. I always thought
SSOxS was pretty much self-contained.

Now I'm getting a 404 file not found when viewing the settings for the

Then either the plugin is not running, or you got the URL wrong.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0

2017-08-13 Thread thebrieze

Hi,

What is the audio bitrate at which Spotty streams?

I tried comparing the sound quality between Spotty (Squeezebox 3 ->
Denon receiver) vs Spotify Connect (iPhone -> Denon receiver) and the
sound quality from Spotify Connect is slightly better. The Music Quality
setting on my iPhone is set to "Recommended", however when I switch to
using Spotify Connect, the Music Quality setting is greyed out, so I'm
not sure what quality it streams at.

Thanks,

Using Squeeze CTRL I seldom have the need to save playlists in spotify
so haven't tried in SPOTTY yet. I usually generate playlists by choosing
a seed track and allowing DSTM to generate a list and then save that as
a playlist by tapping on "Current Playlist" at the top of the playlist
screen and selecting "Save Playlist". I notice that in SPOTTY albums can
be saved by a long press on the + in a circle to the right of the album
title and selecting "Add album to library".

Good question! I do not know how to clear it. Actually I usually do not
use the search function in SPOTTY as I generally use the LMS search
function and then point it to SPOTTY on the screen after the search
criteria is entered. I see that even through LMS GUI there is no
apparent way to clear the search list in SPOTTY. Possibly requires a
tweak of SPOTTY by Michael?

I just wanted to say, after being on vacation for a few weeks and
discovering the loss of spotify, that this works fantastic.

I'm on Windows 10, and within 5 minutes of my discovery, a google search
and subsequent plugin installation, restart of LMS, and login to Spotify
worked perfectly the first time. Dare I say this is working better than
the spotify plugins that we had before (I am on a Duet).

Thanks for creating this.

No bother, I'm well into switching LMS to run on my OSMC Pi.

Now I'm getting a 404 file not found when viewing the settings for the
plugin.

404 Not Found:
plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/Spotty/settings/basic.html
(I'm paraphrasing from memory as I saw this similar error for earlier
plugins, but I'm seeing this.)

I can successfully install your bandcamp plugin, but ol' Spotty is not
playing nice.

I can't find any information about the TS-239 (without the Pro). What
kind of CPU is this using?

Is there any chance/way the IO::Socket::SSL module can be bundled with
the plugin in some way?

No. That module is very picky about where it is compiled etc (for
security reasons). Eg. I think the Kernel on source and target machine
must match etc. There's no way I could do this for all kinds of systems.
That's definitely something which should be done using the system's
package manager.

Or if there are precompiled binaries available
that we can simply add to the perl directory on our QNAP NAS?

I'll point to post #866 again. Or ask in a QNAP related forum.

Well, I spent a little money this week on a refurbished laptop, one with

Today decided to install LMS (just as a backup) and first plugin was
Spotty.

I have both 2015 run-times installed and could not type my user name and
password into the Settings boxes.

If I have to run a command line I'll need instructions for the correct
path.

Just to add that I have LMS installed on a windows 10 pro Desktop and
windows 8.1 laptop (both after a bit of messing about and both just as
backups)

I'm not really bothered if this works on this machine.

Yes you can use squeezeplay with squeezelite just go to settings and
select Choose Player then pick the squeezelite player, just like
jivelite. The VU and spectrum now playing screens are not available for
remote players.

Or create a script /opt/jivelite/bin/jivelite.sh start jivelite and set
the variable at the top.

Code:

#!/bin/bash
  export SDL_VIDEO_ALLOW_SCREENSAVER=1
  /opt/jivelite/bin/jivelite

No, this currently doesn't work. Spotty doesn't work as a "Spotify
Connect" player. At least not yet.

I installed Max2play - LMS with Spotty on a RPI 3. I am glad with the
functionality and everything works fine. Nevertheless I want to use the
normal Spotify app on my laptop and android Phone and stream music to
the RPI. Although all devices are on the same network I can't find
Spotty in the list of devices of the Spotify app. Moreover I can use
both Spotty and Spotify independent of eachother and play different
songs at the same time. Is it possible to use the Spotify app as a
frontend for Spotty?

Hi @mherger QNAP NAS issues still creating dead-ends for those of us
persevering.

Is there any chance/way the IO::Socket::SSL module can be bundled with
the plugin in some way? Or if there are precompiled binaries available
that we can simply add to the perl directory on our QNAP NAS?

Thanks!

I use Squeeze CTRL on my android devices to control my devices and
SPOTTY works very well including search functions. Not sure what you
mean by "cleanup the search results".

Did you set the option to have the A-Z list show by default? Hiding
that A-Z list gives the main list more horizontal room for the text.

You may want to do a full rescan of your library. The A-Z list depends
on an index list that the app requests from the server. Sometimes when
the library has some corruption, the jump points end up being
incorrect.

That's because the progress bar was never designed to be permanent. It's
default state is to be hidden, the option in the preferences just stops
it from automatically hiding once it's shown. When app gets hidden and
shown again, the progress bar reverts to it's default state. I'll see
if I can save the state of the bar when app gets hidden.
