iPlayer listings show correct times for me but I don't use piCorePlayer.
The skip back and forward commands are in the context menu during
playback. On the Radio press + then scroll down.

MAI makes lookups that fail but they do fail relatively gracefully (in
that UI is not full of errors) - however, I assume that MAI is not
always called and the user is probably not going to call up MAI info
when only programme details are shown.

Having extra attributes for MAI (or whatever) would go part way towards
my suggestion in a different thread to have a richer set of Now Playing
info (including programme name, synopsis etc).
However, I presume it would need the UI providers to know about it as
well since they call MAI with parameters at present (or could MAI choose
to ignore them by going directly to the playing song object ... and
perhaps have a new parameter to MAI to tell it not to do that?)

It’s an issue with multiple disc when track numbers are enabled in the
display. Disable that option until the next update.

Using the latest Material (1.80). I find that while listening to music
using DSTM the playlist lists tracks up to a point and then adds
tracksthrough DTSM which do not appear on the Material interface. I
thought perhaps refreshing the Firefox page would fix this but the whole

I forgot which playlist/app I was listening to the other day, and I
guess I didn't turn it off. Tonight i turned it on, and LMS was still
playing. I liked the list that was playing, and obviously it was "Don't
Stop The Music", but I can't tell what the source is - Qobuz or Last FM
or Radio Paradise or who knows what. It's playing FLAC and sounds
great. I can't see anything on Material Skin that tells me what the
source is.

I know there's a setting somewhere for don't stop the music but I can't
seem to find it.

Am I missing something (as usual)? Thanks.

2020-06-04 Thread AlecSp

As a happy and grateful user of many years, can I ask two questions in
one go here:

I've noticed for a while, that the iPlayer listings shown in LMS all
appear to be 1 hour out (early). While it doesn't affect use, I'm
intrigued to understand why. Is this some GMT/BST thing? Is it even
installation specific? (My setup is piCorePlayer 6.0 running LMS 8.0.0
on a Pi 3B+, using native audio, in case that's helpful) I've also
checked and the time on the Pi is right. The time zone is set to
"GMT0BST,M3.5.0/1,M10.5.0"

Secondly, in the iPlayer plug-in settings, there are the values for
"Minutes to skip back per keypress" and "Minutes to skip forward per
keypress". My question is what buttons are these referring to. As well
as using the Pi as a headless player (using either Squeezer on my phone
or the LMS web interface from a browser) I have a couple of Squeezebox
radios using the server. None of the buttons appears to skip
backwards/forwards during radio playback. Am I missing something here?
Or is it maybe designed for different hardware?

Another thought. A lot of the time BBC doesn't have current track info
so what does MAI do then ?

Would it be better to have an API for MAI (e.g. a few variables on the
playing song object plugindata hash) for co-operating plugins to supply
"cleaner" data - than the merged ones created to fit displays.

An example of such co-operation - the Tune-in search will add in "hls"
to the search parameters if it see "hls" as a supported type. The "hls"
type is only added to LMS when plugin has added support for it.

MIPMixer saturates SATA I/O bandwidth (while pushing just ~40MB/s of R/W
data) with 8 threads, which; in turn, pegs the CPU(s), so all that back

luck.

I was "following" the way the BBC present the info.

Example of the raw current track info - at some point "tertiary" may be
filled. BBC provide no indication on what Primary , Seocndasry and

One of the most significant benefit of splitting up the artist/track

displayed.
The risk is that the split turns out to be incorrect.

Things are in a awkward place now. There is pressure to move all request
to https as many service are stopping http support (or redirecting http
to https) and if the move is not made then the plugin will break when
http is not supported. However, the converse can also happen - where the

AFAICT 2.52 is a very recent version of Max2Play - supposedly on Buster
released in 2019.
Are you sure you are really running 2.52 ?
I think you should ask Max2play why is OpenSSL so old and 1.0.2 LTS
ended support in 2019. Perl 5.28 is supposed to be part of Buster - your
system is running 5.20.2 which was announced in 2015. Something isn't
right.

Max2Play may be using LTS (Long Term Support) versions of OpenSSL but
that just means bug fixes - not inclusion of new features which other
services now consider essential.LTS is good for large organisations
and keeping their own internal ecosystems running - not so good for
interacting with real world which is constantly improving.

Well done bpa and thank you very much. All appears to be working as it
should on all devices. Track info updating when it should and Programme
Info and Description now appear.

Now I know what I am doing I can edit the file again in the future if
necessary but is there anything I should do to my installation so that
it I don't need to? I am using an off the shelf Pi installation,
Max2Play 2.52, and I am quite surprised to find that things are not as
up to date as they should be.

Once again, thank you for all your efforts for the Squeezebox community.

OpenSSL underpins the Perl security stuff. HTTPS security has gone from
SSLv1, SSLv2,SSLv3, TSLv1, TSLV1.2 and TSLV1.3.
I think OpenSSL 1.0 may only have SSL and no TSL stuff. I tried to test
the radioplayer site SSLv3 but it is not included in my 1.1.1 Sep 2018.
Many sites no longer allow SSL to be used. It's possible that is the
reason. You may come across this issue more often with other

Remote editing a Linux file on Windows may result in incorrect "line

synchronize.

In version 1.7 you did : Remove 'Synchronise' from players menu,
accessible from 'Manage players' dialog

Please re-add the 'Synchronise' from players menu in a next

I can edit the file using WinSCP and Notepad++ but I can't save the

BBC provides info in an inconsistent manner for all forms of
broadcasting.
BBC provide live info in the form of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary -
text fields.
BBC provide Programme info in the form of Program Title and Programme
ShortDescription & Programme Long description
I take from RadioPlayer metadata - Programme Name and Programm
Description

Catchup can have Programme Title, Programme Short Descriuption,
Programme long description, Brand Name & Episode.

In none of these is the concept of Artist, track , composer,
participants etc identified and there is no predictability which fields
are populated - for example at night a lot of live track info just
stops.

> Is this the reason why the composers pictures do not appear on Catchup?
The image is what BBC supplies with the Catchup program metadata. If
you can description a browser based method which shows other images on
Catchup - please provide the details.

Thank you for your hard work on implementing the track info.

It works very well with Radio 3, and I get pictures of the composers as
the music plays on live (eg Edvard Grieg as I type this). However there
are no composer's pictures on catchup.

However there appears to be a format difference between live and catchup
(catchup is the same on both iplayer and extras).

For live the format is Composer - track title.
For catchup the format is Track title - Composer. (I suppose Composer
may well = Artist).

Is this the reason why the composers pictures do not appear on Catchup?

With the online library integration you are limited to the metadata
provided by the online provider. This is always messy - is composer
"Beethoven", "Ludwig van Beethoven", "Beethoven, Ludwig van", "van
Beethoven, Ludwig", or some random typo? I feel rather lucky that there
is finally a "Work" tag that enables you to listen to a single symphony
in the Karajan set, for example. My expectations are low.

The way forward would be to have a shadow tag. You could envisage a
system whereby each Qobuz file would have a linked media file that you
could tag using MP3Tag. This would be created by the LMS scanner, and by
default have the Qobuz tags. These tags could then be edited, and these
edits would override the Qobuz tags.

Unfortunately this would be a huge amount of work, I imagine, both for
those working on the LMS scanner and Erland to make his custom browse
use the shadow tags. It might also be far too complicated for most
users, and likely to totally fart out if Qobuz changed anything. Hey,
let's do it!

'Show current date and time' is a setting in the Material HTML5 app, not
the APK app. In Material's settings page click the three dots top right,
click 'Application settings' (only visible when Material is run in this
APK). This will take you to the APK's settings - in here you can change
the statusbar (top) and navigation bar (bottom) visibility settings.

OK. Looks like it is limited to LMS and the libraries it uses.

For completeness can you get the version of "openssl". Usually from a
shell prompt the command " openssl version".

The workaround depends on your skills. If you can edit a file on the
LMS system - then edit the file BBCOnAir.pm in the LMS
InstalledPlugins/Plugins/BBCiPlayer directory and at line 224 - change
the https to a http - save the file and restart LMS.

Code:

my $url = "https://np.radioplayer.co.uk/qp/v3/events?rpId=;.
$self->rpid . "=200=200";
$log->info("Fetching radioplayer $url");

If you are not confident with editing - I'll supply a replacement file
with the change.

This is one of the URLs that had to change in 1.6.9. Also it is now
https (was just http) so there is a possibility OS needs an update.

In WebUI Settings/Information what is the version of "IO::Socket::SSL" .
If it is not V2.?? - then it needs to be updated.

Material APK wil use the system webview. Seeing as you have updated that
there is no point to testing.

Sideloaded WebView 83.0.4103.83 and issue resolved. WebView was a bit

My HP Touchpads (9 year old hardware) are running AOSP without Google

Whatever you do - do not, with a *PLAYING* BBCiplayer station use the
"Save to Favorites" from "Song Info" display. This will result in a
"dash://" or "hls://" URL being saved which causes really weird problems
when played later without a BBCiplayer context.

The app works brilliantly on my Blackview, but flaky on older Ulephone
(with the inactive screen buttons).Blackview switches servers
easily, the Ulephone often gets stuck on last server used.I'm not
too bothered about the Ulephone )I only use it as a backup while the
Blackview is charging).

2020-06-04 Thread Paul Webster

I am playing BBC 6 Music at the moment and it is picking up song info -
which is good.

How about risking a split on the first " - " to try to have artist and
title separated and (if matched) squeeze show name and synopsis into
Album?

So rather than

Code:

  Artist: Lauren Laverne : 04/06/2020
  Album:We pick a theme, you pick the songs - that's the People's
Playlist.
  Title:Muzz - Red Western Sky

it would be

Code:

  Artist: Muzz
  Album:Lauren Laverne : 04/06/2020 / We pick a theme, you pick the
songs - that's the People's Playlist.
  Title:Red Western Sky

99.999% sure this is due to the browser you are using, or more
specifically how old it is. Material uses "min()" in its CSS files from
1.8 onwards, to set the cover size. AFAIK, this is pretty new in CSS -
so its likely your browser does not support this. Any chance you can
install the git version of Material? I've added a work-around for
browsers that don't support "min()" - but I have none so can't test!

Hi Michael

Thanks for your reply. You ask for information in the server.log - but
nothing is logged related to pause and return play of a song. When you
pause in a "favorit TIDAL song", start playback and look at the web
interface you will see: The clock showing the amount of time the song
have been playing starts but no music can be heard. After some seconds
the time play clock return back to when the music was paused and start
counting again - still no music. This sequence seems to be repeated
forever.

This advice applies to all station not just BBCiPlayer. If there are

It is all done from WebUI.

Go to WebUI/ Settings/ Advanced - and choose "Logging" from the drop
down box in top left corner (initially it may display something like
"Additional browse modes")

After selecting "Logging" from drop down box - page will change and
logging options for different part of LMS & plugins will be shown.
In the Logging scroll down to "plugin.bbciplayer.bbconair - BBC iPlayer
" and change the associated drop down setting from "Error" to "Debug"
*Click Apply* in bottom right.

If you want, you can open a browser tab to look at log file from Logging
tab - 2nd line "Logitech Media Server Log File" - click on the
underlined "100" or "500" and a new browser tab will open showing log
file last 100/500 lines.

You can now go back to WebUI playing section and play R2 .
You'll see more detail being logged and after about 2 mins - you can go
back to WebUI/Setting/Advanced/Logging and change "Debug" back to
"Error" and click Apply to turn off the extra logging messages.

Also, what webview implementation are you using? You -should- be able to

While trying to sort this out I am playing from the BBCiPlayer Live
Menu. Although I have reloaded the favourites as you described. Checking
these against default-menu.opml downloaded from Sourceforge today shows
that they are identical, as you would expect/hope.

LMS runs on a Pi. The time on the LMS Server.log is correct and
corresponds with the PCs viewing the Web Browser GUI and also the time
displayed on the stand alone Touch.

This is one of the things that the Material app makes *much* easier!
Anyhow, in Fully 'Settings' > 'Web Zoom and Scaling' > Uncheck 'Use Wide
Viewport' and then you can set a value for 'Initial Scale' As to the
value here, its different on different devices - on my Nokia 6.1 275 is
about 100% standard zoom. You will just need to experiment to find the
optimal value for you.

That's not a plugin specific issue most likely. But just the plugin
hitting some server exposing a problem.

What LMS are you running? Did you try a restart?

It can vary according to the format being streamed. Which is why I need

But, as stated browser zoom is *much* better - all elements are zoomed.
There's quite a few calculations based on these font sizes, so removing
would make things *much* simpler. However, I probably won't remove as
I'd need to make sure I didn't break anything by doing so.

There is no "tsc" in the package and i find no command "tsc" on the

nothing about that in the documentation.

I have no such device. However, using Chromium's developer tools I
created a 768x1024 device profile - and I could not recreate this. Not
with 722x722 or 1024x1024 images. Which browser are you using? If its
