Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: LMS Connect - streaming Tidal/Qobuz to LMS via native Android apps
@RCST, thank you so much for this app. I am new to tidal (on a HiFi 3 month trial) and struggled with the LMS interface. This is a godsend! Accessing suggestions based on my listening is important to me, and I could not figure out how to do it via LMS. Using tidal's app is a great way to access them. I have some observations and comments: 1) It works great for me almost all of the time, but some things don't work. For example, I can't get "My Daily Discovery" or any of the "Master Edition - Track Radio" to play. Most playlists and albums do work. I am not sure if this because these are handled differently? 2) No biggie but your app says "you can exit" and there is no exit. I just switch over to the tidal app. 3) Happy to report that it works on Android 12 (I have a Pixel) and also on Amazon Fire Tablets (I used Fire Toolbox to "de-amazon" them, return them close to stock android) 4) I find that when I am in Tidal, I choose "Share" and the only options are "copy" and "more". I have to choose "more" to get to LMS Connect. Anyone know of an easier way, maybe get the LMS connect options along side "copy"? 5) Wondering if you were thinking about publishing it on F-Droid like Material? I think it might make our updates easier. Just a thought. 6) I don't see any way to determine the version number other than under settings->apps->LMS connect, which I guess is ok. Wow, that's hilarious- and one of the last things I would have thought to check. Totally offtopic: A colleague got me in the habit of naming devices after fictional computers and robots - TARS was one of the bots in Interstellar, and I have/had several with 4 letters, including a Gort (The Day the Earth Stood Still), a Zima (Alastair Reynolds' Zima Blue) and a Zero (a droid in the Mandalorian voiced by Richard Ayoade). agt's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70783 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114611 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Great that some of it's making sense - both on the auto-discover and the excessive-player-count front: there's nothing worse than an inscrutable problem you can't replicate. When I get home I'll try turning all but one off player and see what happens. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: LMS Connect - streaming Tidal/Qobuz to LMS via native Android apps
Hi again. Unfortunately this remains murky for my Home server! Per my previous post, all versions worked correctly on my LMS at my Office location. On getting home, all versions that support AutoScan crash when trying to do this. As AutoScan is on by default, this means the app crashes instantly on initial attempt to load -if LMS is running-. If I stop LMS on the server, I can disable AutoScan then set server manually, but the process crashes when trying to share from Tidal, or on reenabling the AutoScan toggle. Logs attached - in case they help, and server details below I can however use the original version which seems to work fine - though I understand from the thread there have been other improvements. Hi - thanks for the reply! Yes I checked on permissions already, and the only thing available to Allow was Storage, which I turned on, but it didn't help. The device I've tried so far is an Oppo A54 5G running Android 11 with Nov 2021 Security update. I'll try a couple of others and report my results. Hi, I was going to make the change, but can I clarify your requirement? My understanding of your requirement was if a player is "Power off", you would like the player can be automatically turned on after sharing to "Play on LMS"? Is that right? I also did a test on my environment (LMS + picoreplayer/squeezelite) and my player can be automatically turned on already. But I am not sure all types of players have the same behaviour as I only have picoreplayer/squeezelite players. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: LMS Connect - streaming Tidal/Qobuz to LMS via native Android apps
Hi RCST - this app sounds awesome : I'm a big fan of such ingenious solutions. Unfortunately I can't get the app to run, and would be grateful for any suggestions. - I've downloaded the app from the link in your first post (it reports v1.5) - I've approved unknown sources, and it appear ins my list of installed apps in settings and app drawer. - When I try to launch it my screen just flashes and returns to the app drawer. - The Share target exists from tidal, but unsurprisingly fails as the app isn't initialised (its Storage details show it using no data and no cache). It appears that it tries to launch something, but then just returns to TIdal Thanks! agt's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70783 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114611 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: LMS Connect - streaming Tidal/Qobuz to LMS via native Android apps
Just installed and set it up with my new Qobuz account. Great job! Thanks for doing this. It fills a definite need for me as another tool in the box. I can now find an interesting Hi-res release in Qobuz and, with one click, send it to LMS where the Denon plugin automatically powers on my AVR, sets its input to my DAC player, and starts playing it in all its 24-bit glory. And, if I like what I hear, I can quickly add it to my Qobuz favorites and thus my LMS library. It would still be nice if there was a way to add an artist or album to the Qobuz favorites from an LMS client via the plugin but this method allows full access to all the features of the Qobuz app, which is even better. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: LMS Connect - streaming Tidal/Qobuz to LMS via native Android apps
Works on my Chromebox with Qobuz. Once the handoff is done, though, the Qobuz app drops out and doesn't update, so I then need to use the Material Skin as usual, which I actually prefer to the native Qobuz app. So, technically cool, but not terribly useful in my case. piTouch w/JustBoom DigiHat -> RME ADI-2 DAC FS -> JBL 305P MkII monitors; LMS 8.2 on piCorePlayer/Pi 4; Material Skin. chicks's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71798 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114611 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Sure, already plan to upload the code to Github and share, just need to clean the code a bit, currently looking pretty embarrass. The concept is very simple: - Register the Android app as "sharing targets" so that it will appear in the "share to" list, - Once the native Tidal/Qobuz app shares the album/playlis/track url (like this: https://tidal.com/track/181884677) to the app, the app gets the type(album, playlist or tack) and the id ("181884677" in the above example) based on the url, - The app reformats the type and id to the LMS Tidal/Qobuz accepted song url format and send it to the LMS jsonrpc either via "Playlist add" or Playlist play" commands. (e.g the Tidal accepted url format is: "wimp://181884677.flac", and the whole jsonrpc body looks like this: "{"id":1,"method":"slim.request","params":["b8:27:eb:8f:24:4b",["playlist","play","wimp://181884677.flac"]]}" RCST's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71755 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114611 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Have been using LMS(Logitech Media Server) + Tidal/Qobuz plugins to stream Tidal/Qobuz, however, still prefer to use native Tidal/Qobuz apps to explore musics Inspired by the way how the android Kodi control apps streaming Youtube video to Kodi, developed this little android app which can stream Tidal/Qobuz to LMS via the native Tidal/Qobuz Android apps. Instead of having the user fill in the LMS connection details, you could automatically discover LMS servers - and then automatically retrieve the list of players. My WebView wrapper for Material skin does this auto-discover, and its quite simple see: https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material-app/blob/master/lms-material/src/main/java/com/craigd/lmsmaterial/app/ServerDiscovery.java *Material debug:* 1.
