Think of 2, 5 gal at a time in a miller keg as the boil pot. It will

I have a 5 gal korny keg, well a lot of them, and a few 3 gal ones.
the 3's fit in my fridge easily and the 5's go to parties and

This batch will yeild 2 3's and one 5 gal contianer as well as a few

Straight forward article on common sense, right?

Every cult leader, drill sergeant, self-help guru and politician
knows that if you want to quiet all of those pesky doubting thoughts
in a crowd, get them to chant a repetitive phrase or slogan. Those are
referred to as thought-stopping techniques, because for better or

I had a few conversations about this drill bullshit at the Packer game
on Sunday night.

I asked if they really think that tripling our USA production would
change the price at the pump, or just make Exxon and other richer?

The puzeled look on their faces was priceless. Nobody had ever
thought about the true outcome. Just follow the lead line and it must
be true. I would bet that these same people first sent their kids or
grand kids SSN's around to ???Gerber for free savings bonds.

I can see why Palin wants to drill. Her state will get jobs, money,
taxes, just about everything good will come their way.

What about Ohio, New England or Iowa? They get raped. Same high
prices at the pump or for home heating oil. No change there.

Welcome to the internet. Now disengage your brain. It is all true
here, no need to think anymore.

 --

No. It is speculated. Much like agriculture products. That being
said there are a large number of investors who want to push it up to
make money along the way.

Now this is just at the barrel level. Past that there is refinery
fees that are independent and one refinery will do most of the fule
consumed in a given area. They just add the additives that make it
Texaco, Exxon, 7-11, etc.

Then you have the resellers who buy it in bulk and retail it to the public.

When the airlines use to have a price war to get travelers it was
something. Their situation is very different from oil mind you. they
controlled their raw materials and labor. The price per barrel is set
daily and everyone around the world pays it.

Second our rate of consumption for gas is so large that the USA could
never sustain it over many years, 10-15-20 We just don't have enough
of those dead critters buried underground for us.

Do you not have a clue or are you just a laughing troll?

If oil price is 40 USD / barrel you only go after easy to access oil
or buy it from others.

When price triples it is now justified to spend the extra USD to get
those barrels today. It is justified to go after oil shale rock and
squeeze the from it if you can do it at 85. USD per barrel.

So Pete it has always been there. Just a function on how difficult to
get it and at what cost.

I judged wood aged ales last night and then sampled Old English and
Barleywine leftovers. What great entries we had for our fair this
year.

The winner in our flight was a Standard Bitter. It was the closest to
style and then the wood conditioned flavors were a benefit to it.
Next was a cask conditioned Barleywine that the wood didn't overcome
the complexity of the malts. You could barely smell any type of wood
aroma nor taste it. but to style it was right on the money. they
scored a 42 and a 40 out of 50 points total.
