Sorting by release year would be more than enough. In the case of sorting by _Year,_Artist,_Album LMS_currently_sorts_by_ Year ascending, Artist ascending, Album ascending (albums.year asc, albums.titlesort asc, albums.disc asc) _Custom_Browse_sorts_by _Year descending, Artist ascending, Album ascending (albums.year desc, albums.titlesort asc, albums.disc asc) So the difference is sorting on Year ascending or Year descending. It would be a more complicated I guess by having to take into account situations where there are multiple discs or there is no year. Not trivial but still only using existing scanned data. 2 x Touch 2 x Radio 2 x Boom 1 x Intel-NUC server/squeezelite running LMS 8.20 (from nightlies) on Windows 10 1 X Odroid-XU4 server/squeezelite running LMS 7.91 on Ubuntu 16.04 1 x iMac server running macOS Big Sur WaveIO USB into Lavry DA-10 DAC Starfish Pre-amp : Based on NAIM NAC 72 Heavily modified NAIM NAP 250 Power-amp Focal Electra 1027 Be II Speakers bobertuk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30376 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114844 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

@mherger - following on from a suggestion in the Spotty thread _[Announce]_Spotty_4.6_-_sorting_option_for_Albums/Artists/Songs,_replay_gain_fix (\"https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?114836-Announce-Spotty-4-6-sorting-option-for-Albums-Artists-Songs-replay-gain-fix/page3\;)_ Would it be possible to add a new sort option to LMS so that albums can be sorted with latest releases at the top? Increase to 20Gbytes was sudden so I couldn't monitor it over time. Also didn't really have the opportunity to look closely at log files unfortunately - Windows 10 became extremely sluggish so I was on the verge of carrying out a fresh Windows install. Luckily I checked for large files first and decided to take remedial action by deleting cache.db. As soon as cache.db was deleted and rebuilt Windows performance was back to normal. If it happens again I'll try hunting it down. 2 x Touch 2 x Radio 2 x Boom 1 x Intel-NUC server/squeezelite running LMS 7.92 (from nightlies) on Windows 10 1 X Odroid-XU4 server/squeezelite running LMS 7.91 on Ubuntu 16.04 1 x iMac server running macos Hich Sierra WaveIO USB into Lavry DA-10 DAC Starfish Pre-amp : Based on NAIM NAC 72 Heavily modified NAIM NAP 250 Power-amp Behringer DEQ2496 Linn Isobarik DMS bobertuk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30376 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114058 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Why two copies of LMS on Windows 10?
@mherger I'm sure this question has been raised before but I can't find an answer. So... I suddenly lost 20Gbytes of disc space on a Windows 10 system so found and ran a program to search for large files. Top of the list were two LMS files, cache.db & imgproxy.db, both in the LMS Cache folder. At first sight the program I ran seemed to have a bug, displaying each large file in duplicate. On closer inspection, they were not duplicates but complete copies of the Cache folder in... C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache and C:\Users\All Users\Squeezebox\Cache I guess this is so that all users and a specific user can have access to LMS but it does mean that a lot of disc space is lost in duplication. The reason I had lost 20Gbytes of disc space was that my LMS cache had grown to nearly 21Gbytes for some reason. Easy to remedy by deleting cache.db and carrying out a full rescan - after rescan cache.db stands at 172Mbytes. But it did lead me to check for large files and so find the duplicate Cache. Is it possible or advisable/not advisable to delete the 'C:\Users\All Users\Squeezebox' without any ill effects? The duplicate for all users occupies nearly 3Gbytes of disc space which is considerable on a small SSD. 2 x Touch 2 x Radio 2 x Boom 1 x Intel-NUC server/squeezelite running LMS 7.92 (from nightlies) on Windows 10 1 X Odroid-XU4 server/squeezelite running LMS 7.91 on Ubuntu 16.04 1 x iMac server running macos Hich Sierra WaveIO USB into Lavry DA-10 DAC Starfish Pre-amp : Based on NAIM NAC 72 Heavily modified NAIM NAP 250 Power-amp Behringer DEQ2496 Linn Isobarik DMS bobertuk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30376 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114058 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS advanced search: Sort by file modification date?
Is it possible to use LMS Advanced Search to sort by file modification date (Date Modified?) in the same way that 'New Music' displays albums? I use Trackstat ratings to select out my favourite albums and save 'As Library View' then set up an 'Additional Browse Mode' so I can display them and easily select/play my most recent favourite purchases. The Library View displays in order of album name but I would rather it displayed effectively in the order I purchased them. Like most people I end up purchasing albums that I play over and over (my favourites) and others I play rarely. I have no idea what those 28 tracks are. LMS WebUI shows nothing in Albums, Artists, Genres, New Music etc. Everything was fine until Audio Scan 1.02 was introduced. Thank you Michael and JohnB. Such a simple solution - I've gone back to v8 and it's all working now. To be honest I did know about maxVersion and had checked/edited it in all the other plugins I use. Just completely forgot about Inguz, I guess because it isn't installed in the same way as other plugins. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Todays LMS Nightly not starting on Windows 10
I've had a firewall rule in place for some time that blocks access to mysqueezebox.com - which is how I wanted it to be! In the first post, server errors indicate that mysqueezebox.com is not accessible but I assumed that was always the case, at least for me with the firewall rule in place, so it wasn't an issue. It is an issue now though! As a last resort I went into my router settings and removed the firewall block... Guess what? The latest LMS nightly now starts correctly but now demands that mysqueezebox.com is accessible! @mherger Is this deliberate or will --nomysqueezebox still function as expected? 2 x Touch 2 x Radio 2 x Boom 1 x Intel-NUC server/squeezelite running LMS 7.92 (from nightlies) on Windows 10 1 X Odroid-XU4 server/squeezelite running LMS 7.91 on Ubuntu 16.04 1 x iMac server running macos Hich Sierra WaveIO USB into Lavry DA-10 DAC Starfish Pre-amp : Based on NAIM NAC 72 Heavily modified NAIM NAP 250 Power-amp Behringer DEQ2496 Linn Isobarik DMS bobertuk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30376 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110678 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Just carried out a complete uninstall of LogitechMediaServer-7.9.2-1561089896.exe then reinstalled and still exactly the same issue. Installed an April nightly over the top and that works fine. There were no changes made to my setup between the previous nightly and LogitechMediaServer-7.9.2-1561089896.exe so there's definitely something wrong or at least something significantly different with the latest build! Even carried out a system restore before uninstall/reinstall to ensure there were no system changes over the last few days. Have been using Windows 10 Home 1903 since early June with no issues. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Todays LMS Nightly not starting on Windows 10
@michael I've just downloaded todays LMS Nightly, LogitechMediaServer-7.9.2-1561089896.exe, and it refuses to start correctly on Windows 10. Can't get LMS to display in any browser & Control Panel is extremely slow to start - when it does start LMS is shown as running but it isn't possible stop it. I only have an old April version of LMS available to try but when I installed over todays version it functioned immediately. Everything was fine on the previous nightly, just todays install is causing a problem. Is it possible to download the previous nightly from somewhere so I can can get back up and running with something that I know works correctly? Looking more closely at the log extract, could it be that the windows folder separator is "" while for Ubuntu it is "/" ? ie for windows it's c:\folder1\folder2\filename etc for ubuntu it would be equivalent to c:/folder1/folder2/filename etc This sort of thing has always been an issue between windows and unix/Linux. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] imageproxy.db size
I'm sure this has been asked before but my forum searches have found nothing... The size of imageproxy.db on my system was more than 5Gbytes and I discovered it's size grows when 'clear library and rescan everything' is used. Using the Windows 10 LMS Control Panel -> Advanced I ran 'Run Cleanup' to clear caches. This does as it says, clears caches, but also deselects all of my installed plugins. That's a real pain because I have to go through the process of reinstalling them again - luckily all the painstakingly set preferences are still active. The first full scan after clearing caches produces a 500Mbyte imageproxy.db file! Subsequent 'clear library and rescan everything' grows that file and it can become enourmous taking up a great deal of space on a small system HDD - a small SSD in my case. Is it safe to simply delete imageproxy.db then just do a 'clear library and rescan everything'? More convenient would be an LMS Control Panel -> Advanced option to just delete imageproxy.db. Just to add to this... I'm based in the UK and finding that BBC iPlayer will not play 'Listen Live' streams - again since about 13 August. 'Listen Live (Non UK)' plays fine as do streams from the Radio plugin - it just seems to be BBC iPlayer 'Listen Live'. When a Listen Live station is selected LMS finds the station and it looks as if it's starting to play but then aborts before anything plays. Have tried it with all BBC iPlayer 'Listen Live' stations and the same result. Have tried stopping/starting LMS and clearing cache but still nothing. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Order of menu items in LMS Home page
Is there any way to change the order of menu entries in LMS Home/My Music (default skin)? I do not find the default order ideal for me. It can not be done by simply dragging things around in the GUI so it would need to be done directly in code - somewhere! If I wanted to try re-ordering the entries myself, where would I need to look? It makes my 'Settings/Advanced/File Types' a bit complicated because I have Inguz running and that needs to mesh in with 3-CPO. It does allow me to have more control on what transcoding does on my system and even solved the problem of getting no sound using Radio Paradise. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Player Names in Settings/Advanced/File Types? Possible?
Michael, Would it be possible for you to identify players in LMS 'Settings/Advanced/File Types' in order to easily see which setting applies to each player? Player name would be preferable, followed by MAC address and IP address if possible, by the side of each setting. The players are identified in Settings/Info so the information is already there somewhere. At times the different settings are 'played with', for example when trying out different settings in Brutefir or Inguz. I'm sure there are other instances when it would be useful as well. As an example... FLAC...AAIF.Disabled ..FLAC.Disabled ..FLAC.flac/InguzDSP..Bedroom Radioxx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.ipaddress ..FLAC.flac/InguzDSP..Living Room Touch...xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.ipaddress And so on... Dots in example only used to keep formatting. There's probably another way to do that :) Is it something possible/easy to do? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS always sending bitrate 48kHz to my DAC
I'm using the latest LMS 7.9 nightly and have noticed over the last few days that my DAC always displays 48k bitrate. Most of my flac files are 44.1k but I have a few 96k and a couple of 192k files but the DAC never changes from 48k! I don't make a habit of checking the DAC to see what bitrate is being received so it may well have been happening for a long time. I'm using LMS on an Odroid-UX4 with max2play v2.42 + Brutefir and passing the music stream to my DAC via squeezelite. I disabled Brutefir to see if that was the problem but no change. Also installed 'mpd' to eliminate LMS and max2play to check that my DAC was picking up the correct bitrate. Using 'mpd' the DAC happily displayed the correct bitrate - 44.1k, 96k and 192k. So there is an issue somewhere with LMS/max2play/squeezelite! I've not changed anything in that LMS/max2play/squeezelite combination that would (as far as I'm aware) affect bitrate. My first thought was that Brutefir might be doing something but that was disabled and eliminated. I'm not hung up on using high bitrates so that in itself isn't a problem. What does concern me is that I have no 48k files and the DAC permanently displays 48k - so something somewhere is changing the output stream, maybe not just to 48k, maybe something else is being changed as well! I've tried changing squeezelite parameters in max2play, -r 96000, and making the same change in re-enabled Brutefir and it makes no difference. Any thoughts, suggestions or help appreciated.
